MEDIA RELEASE: Style stakes high at the Clare Easter Races

Racegoers at the Hill Livestock Clare Easter Races will be turning heads in the Fashion at The Races (FATR) competition this Easter Saturday, donned in their best frocks and suits for a chance to win huge prizes and qualify for the state-wide competition.

Held at the Clare Valley Racing Club on Saturday 20 April, FATR is open to everyone, with categories including Best Dressed Womenswear, Runner-up Best Dressed, Best Millinery, Best Dressed Menswear, and the newly introduced Best Footwear category.

The Best Dressed Womenswear winner will walk away with $1000 cash and a $200 voucher for The Daily Edited, while the Best Dressed Menswear winner will receive a $100 Shoe Shed voucher, a $100 ORTC Clothing Co. prize pack and a pair of Rossi Boots. There will also be great prizes up for grabs for winners of the other categories.

Winners will qualify for September’s state final where the overall womenswear winner will walk away with prizes including a $5000 BNKR shopping spree and a $500 Shoe Shed voucher, while the menswear winner will receive $500 vouchers for The Daily Edited, the Shoe Shed and Rossi Boots.

The registration booth will be in the general admission area, where entrants can register their details, collect number paddles and find out competition location and timings.

Sydney based fashion blogger and social media influencer, Nadia Stamp (@nadiastamp), will be hosting the competition while she’s in town.

Local Adelaide Milliner, Mimi Jane, of Mimi Jane Millinery, will be on the FATR judging panel and said competitors should be creative with their outfits and show off their true style.

“I encourage ladies to have fun with their choice of headwear and accessories because it makes a statement when well paired with their overall look,” Mimi said.

“It’s important to know that judges look for a winner with an ensemble that strikes the right balance between tradition and current trends, with a touch or originality and attention to detail.”

The Clare Valley Easter Races is renowned for its upbeat and social atmosphere, and this year will be no different with live entertainment all-day and a DJ after the last race. Punters can also enjoy their favourite refreshments from the popular Pimms Marquee and Espresso Martini Bar or treat themselves to a feast from the range of food vans on offer.
