From the 2000m start to the 1200m, lanes 1-4 are uniform. Beyond that is slightly inferior but unlikely to have traffic.
The track is even across from the 1200m to the 900m.
From the 900m to the 400m mark the inside four lanes are noticeably better than the wider lanes. Good chance this may have a material impact on results.
From the 400m to the winning post, the inside three lanes walk faster than beyond. Beyond lane five there is more wear and the grass is slightly longer.
Verdict: There will be an advantage to horses racing in lanes 1-3, particularly from the 900m mark.
