Lincoln Moore's Morphettville Parks preview

BEST BET: STAR OF UMA (Race 5)

EACH-WAY: GREAT DIVINER (Race 2)

VALUE: DEBT COLLECTOR (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 11:21AM Jimmy's Bar & Grill Handicap (1250 METRES)

STRIKE AWARD was game on debut and maps well from a good gate. RUNAMIGO was on speed and only reeled in late by Garrire last week. He draws out but gets into this well with the claim and should run well. ALASKAN STORM never looked super comfortable inside horses and still finished off hard behind Garrire last week. She’s drawn a sticky gate but drawing outside horse might be advantageous to her chances. SOMEWATT FABULOUS won a recent Morphettville jump-out well and draws a nice gate. Mick Price saddles up two and STARION looks the pick on a handy Geelong placing.

SELECTIONS: STRIKE AWARD, Runamigo, Alaskan Storm

RACE 2 - 11:56AM Leconfield Handicap (1000 METRES)

GREAT DIVINER was soft in the market before making some good ground late along the fence first-up from a break behind Winning Weather at Murray Bridge when he was held up momentarily. His win here on debut was very good and expect him to give this a shake. DANA POINT is an interesting one first-up here and does have very good speed. Blinkers are off and she is sure to make her presence felt. DARK HORSE can land a nice spot on or just behind the speed from the inside gate and wasn’t far away at Cranbourne last time. ULTIMATE VICTORY draws a nice gate and was put away after the Morphettville Guineas when he failed to best one home. He’s fresh here and back in trip looks ideal. MR TEE JAY was a soft winner two back before copping some pressure up front and fading late last week. He draws well again and must be respected. CHAMPAGNE AFFAIR is another who should be handy to the speed and led behind Outlaws Revenge last time. WILD TYCOON defeated Garrire on debut after some specking at a price and must also be respected.

SELECTIONS: GREAT DIVINER, Dana Point, Dark Horse

RACE 3 - 12:31PM G.H. Mumm Maiden Plate (1300 METRES)

Not a race I’m overly keen on. TURFITT comes up pretty short here down the bottom but does have some handy form around Divenire and Victory Club. She draws a good gate and looks a top winning hope. TURN TABLE has been around the mark and comes off a good effort, chasing homer Fall On A Star, who won again here last week. The step up from 1100m to 1400m looks ideal for him. SHORT STORIES was plain on debut but ran well when making ground behind Kenobi last week. GOLIOTUS was heavily backed when runner-up behind Tonnarella at Hamilton. PERFECT ZED ran well here four starts back and has the blinkers off.

SELECTIONS: TURFITT, Turn Table, Short Stories

RACE 4 - 1:06PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1400 METRES)

EITILT was a Kilmore winner four runs back and led throughout to win at Wodonga last time. He carried weight to win last time and looks a top chance again in a race where he should be able to roll forward and be close to the speed. SPARKUP was a good Mildura winner three starts back before stepping up in class in the Nitschke Stakes. He was OK behind Outlaws Revenge last time and has solid claims despite a tricky barrier. I liked the win of TRUMPSTA last time when he was able to weave a passage through the field to win at Gawler, but he draws a sticky wide gate here. KEEN ON GOLD ran well behind Koruto last time out and maps well from an inside gate. CASHIN’ CHEX was scratched from midweek for this.

SELECTIONS: EITILT, Sparkup, Trumpsta

RACE 5 - 1:46PM TAB Handicap (1400 METRES)

STAR OF UMA has been close-up at both runs back from a break and maps to be right on the speed and is sure to take some running down here. RIALTOR is an interesting one. He trialled like a nice horse before heading to Port Augusta last time and blowing rivals away by more than 14 lengths. A repeat performance would make him hard to catch around here and he’s a big price. GHETTO looked a touch unlucky behind The Publikin at Strathalbyn last time when he was held-up before the turn before getting going late. BENGAL BANDIT was a soft winner at Hamilton last time and must be respected here with the help of a claim for Jacob Opperman. Stablemate THE DEC comes off a good Geelong win and has claims despite a sticky gate. ST JUST draws an inside gate and could run a cheeky race at triple figure odds.

SELECTIONS: STAR OF UMA, Rialtor, Ghetto

RACE 6 - 2:26PM Furphy Handicap (1000 METRES)

HARD LANDING draws out but has handy form for this sort of class and has won two of three fresh. He’ll fire across from his wide gate and looks a major factor. BRIMARVI VEHERO gets into this race nicely. He was a good winner three starts back and there was nothing wrong with his Flemington effort last time when he led. He’s been in the money at six of nine starts here. LARIMER STREET had market support first-up for David Jolly behind Trygve and maps to get a gun run from barrier two. HYPERSONIC had plenty of fans when he was run down by Winning Weather at Murray Bridge. He has a tricky gate and this does look harder. OCTANE has to lug a massive weight here but he looked back to somewhere near his best when runner-up behind stablemate Too Good Too Hard last time. HE’S A BALTER was giving rivals a big start before getting up on the post at Murray Bridge last time and must be respected. MISS JANE draws the inside and has a great record here and fresh. KABINI has a good record here and was ridden on speed first-up from a break behind Too Good Too Hard.

SELECTIONS:  HARD LANDING, Brimarvi Vehero, Larimer Street

RACE 7 - 3:06PM Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1250 METRES)

LADY BETHANY has a great record this track and trip and did defeat Trip four starts back. She’s fitter, can roll forward and race handy, and looks hard to beat. RINGFORT is a former Victorian now with Will Clarken and trialled nicely at Oakbank. She has each-way appeal. ALL IN WAR deserves to win a race here in SA and was again finishing off strongly in the race won by He’s A Balter. THAT GIRL draws a middle gate and gets in well with the claim. Her best form is right up to winning this, she gets the blinkers for the first time and was scratched from last week for this. OUR DEEP AGENDA has been very good since joining Jon O’Connor and he looked the winner before being nailed late by Our Deep Agenda last time. He’s winless from three starts here. ROTHMOORE resumes and would be a big chance if the track is downgraded.

SELECTIONS: LADY BETHANY, Ringfort, All In War

RACE 8 - 3:46PM David 'DT' Thomas Memorial Handicap (1550 METRES)

PELOTON looks an improver here with the help of a claim. He can roll forward and be handy to the lead. He wasn’t beaten far fresh, getting out in trip appeals and he’s nice odds. ROBE BAY maps well from barrier two. She’s back in trip but more than capable on her day. DEBT COLLECTOR has been around the mark in three runs back from a spell. He’s awkwardly drawn and is going to get back but will be flashing late. HIGHLY DISCREET is drawn wide but there was a lot to like about how she finished off to win at Murray Bridge and the extra trip should be OK. PEARL BANDIT has a good record here and was finishing off strongly at Flemington last time. He’ll be thereabouts. GOING GAGA is flying. He was good first-up at Oakbank before a nice win in over Skilled Bunch last time. He’s been placed two of three here and must be respected. POET’S LANDING resumes here and could run a cheeky race fresh.

SELECTIONS: PELOTON, Robe Bay, Debt Collector

RACE 9 - 4:25PM Charlie Hoile Cup (2250 METRES)

CEARDAI looks nicely placed here from a good barrier in a race where a lot of the main chances are poorly drawn. He was a Ballarat winner on the synthetic track last time but boasts three wins all beyond 1800m. CANFORD is going well and loomed like a winner before Just Rolling proved too strong last time. He’s helped with the claim from a tricky draw. LORD BOUZERON was well found by punters last week and boxed on well behind Call Me Shamus. MANZALA is knocking on the door but faces an extreme outside barrier his run two starts back was good. AZZUREOUS made headlines for the wrong reasons when he went to the line without being ridden out at Murray Bridge. He gets out to a suitable trip but the barrier hasn’t helped

SELECTIONS: CEARDAI, Canford, Lord Bouzeron
