Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: ROYAL OBSESSION (Race 2)

EACH-WAY: ICECRUSHER (Race 4)

VALUE: DUSK FALLS (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 11:20AM Barossa Fine Foods Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

TAUNTING is a $230k yearling who looked good winning a Morphettville trial. He has been well found in early betting and should take some beating here. GINGER CREEK was in the market on debut at Flemington and must be respected here first-up from a spell. THEY CALL ME ALVIN spaced his stablemate in a recent Oakbank trial and did run OK time. JOURNEY IN TIME looked OK in a recent Morphettville trial. LAMOREE was well supported on debut and worked hard behind Saasmit at Murray Bridge and has won a recent Morphettville jump out for her return. MISCHIEVOUS TYCOON was game on debut when she worked hard and was hampered late at Strathalbyn. SPIRITUAL GAL was heavily backed when she missed the kick and raced keenly on debut, BRAZEN BOY is fitter here and can run a cheeky race if he gains a start.

SELECTIONS: TAUNTING, Ginger Creek, Lamoree

RACE 2 - 11:55AM 36° South Beef Maiden (1000 METRES)

ROYAL OBSESSION was favourite on debut at Geelong last July when she showed speed but stopped quickly in the final 100m. She draws out but has the claims for Jacob Opperman and should be hard to catch over the 1000m after a solid hit-out in a recent Flemington jump out. KZSCZOT beat Thrill Kill in a recent Penola trial and draws a nice barrier. He’s been well found in early markets and must be given some thought. DELTA RIVER has trialled OK and should get a good run from a middle gate. MISTY TRAIL was OK on debut behind Lady Simone at Gawler and has ability. David Jolly’s stalemates MISS LANGTRY and UTAH JOE were both set to run short-priced favourites at Strathalbyn during the week.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL OBSESSION, Kzsczot, Utah Joe

RACE 3 - 12:30PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1550 METRES)

Open race. MUSTARI was good behind She’s Stylish here last time and maps well from barrier three with the blinkers on for the first time. ALLACCIATO has a win and two placings from four second-up runs and finished off well behind Dr Dee Dee first-up and can run a forward race here with the claim despite a sticky gate. JAGUARY was a good winner here beating Ambidazzle at odds last time the extra trip and good barrier look ideal especially after the claim. SMOKE BOMB is a handy Victorian who won at Moonee Valley last July on a Soft 6. SERIOUS SPENDER is fitter and out in trip and has placed at two of four second-up outings. FIELD OF ROSES has handy form on soft tracks and was making ground last time behind Riot And Rose at Caulfield.

SELECTIONS: MUSTARI, Allacciato, Smoke Bomb

RACE 4 - 1:05PM Weslo Security Handicap (1300 METRES)

A lot to like about the two runs back from a spell by ICECRUSHER who chased home Highly Discreet first-up before coming from well back to be beaten 2 lengths behind Jaguary last time. She draws a nice gate, gets the three kilogram claim for Jacob Opperman and this looks her chance to break through in city grade. AMBIDAZZLE was game behind Jaguary last time, she is deep into a campaign but continues to race well and should get a nice run behind the speed from an inside gate. LADY BETHANY got a mile back behind Poysed To Rein last week. She has a good record here with three wins from eight starts and the help of a 3kg claim. ACROSS THE WAY has been solid winning at Moe two starts back before easing as favourite when 3rd behind Izzy Good at Moe last time out. ALL IN WAR ran another good race behind Poysed To Rein last week. ENCHANTINGLY was very good at her SA debut, she’s weighted to give this a shake from a good gate.

SELCTIONS: ICECRUSHER, Ambidazzle, Lady Bethany

RACE 5 - 1:45PM Furphy Handicap (1250 METRES)

IMPERIAL HILTON is lightly-raced but comes off an impressive Sandown win first-up from a spell at nice odds when he was strong through the line. He should appreciate the rise in trip and has solid each-way appeal after the scratching of National Choice. WINNING WEATHER had strong market support and won well at Murray Bridge last time out beating Hypersonic. She draws a sticky gate but looks a filly with upside. FALL ON A STAR was plain first-up when she had some excuses before winning at Gawler and then again here last time. She draws an inside gate and could give them something to chase. Stablemate FAN CLUB was a $1.30 favourite winning at Cranbourne two starts back before battling at Sandown, while the third of the Stokes team KORUTO has won three of his past four in slightly weaker grade but must be respected. KENOBI had a few things in his favour when he led and won well on debut.

SELECTIONS: IMPERIAL HILTON, Winning Weather, Fall On A Star

RACE 6 - 2:25PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1000 METRES)

HE’S EXCLUSIVE is a former Kiwi on debut for Will Clarken and was a Pukekohe winner back in December. He’s had two trials here in SA beating Arkham Knight at Oakbank before running 2nd behind Street Tough last time and is sure to be primed for this. Stablemate HILLS ran really well first-up from a break finishing off strongly behind Winning Weather at Murray Bridge. ARAY OF SUNSHINE has won two of four fresh and has trialled well for her return. She draw a nice gate and is well up to winning a race like this but does have a poor record on the Parks. LIDO BEACH draws awkwardly but comes off a good Ballarat win and must be respected first-up for Michael Hickmott. MAGIC PHANTOM had nothing go right and should have finished closer to the winner when 3rd behind Rock Of Kryptonite here a fortnight back. PICARGO has a good fresh record

SELECTIONS: HE’S EXCLUSIVE, Array Of Sunshine, Hills

RACE 7 - 3:05PM The Junction Handicap (1300 METRES)

ROTHMOORE looks nicely placed here first-up with all seven wins coming in wet conditions and he is two from six first-up. He bolted when resuming this time last year and he did jump out well recently. WOUNDED SOLIDER is going well and all three runs this time in have had merit. He made ground back inside horses behind Fall On A Star last time and does have a good record on the Parks track. He looks value in a very open race. SKY HERO is a former Lloyd Kennewell runner first-up for Will Clarken. His only win came over 2000m and he has trialled well and had some market support. BULLET KID draws a middle gate and was solid behind Fall Of A Star last time. His Murray Bridge win three starts back was good form for a race like this. GRAFTON AVENUE draws a nice barrier and improved last time behind Koruto. WRITTEN IN HISTORY ran well at big odds behind He’s A Balter last time.

SELECTIONS: ROTHMOORE, Wounded Solider, Sky Hero

RACE 8 - 3:45PM TAB Handicap (1950 METRES)

NOT USUAL GLORIOUS was impressive, surprising even the stable at his SA debut. The extra trip and rain effected track should be even more to his liking and he should get a gun run from the inside gate. DUSK FALLS is the interesting runner. A former import who has handy form on rain effected tracks. He'll strip fitter for a first up run when he finished off well behind Vegas Knight at Flemington over a mile. His two wins have been at 2500m but this looks a nice option. DOES IT has ben racing well and deserved his win over Celtic Valour at Gawler, This is harder but he has each-way appeal. LADY HIGHLY caught the eye closing late behind Highly Discreet at Murray Bridge she jumps form thr 1400m but must be respected. ANDREA MANTEGNA is back with David Jolly and can improve on his Penola effort here. His record on this track is excellent having only missed a placed once in eight starts and he draws to roll along in front. EXALTED BEAST draws poorly but has been racing well and was good winning at Murray Bridge three starts back and his past two 2nd’s behind Exalted Ambition and Call Me Shamus have been solid enough to have him in the mix. STAR STATUS is a winner this track and trip but draws awkwardly. DR DEE DEE is flying but draws the car park.

SELECTIONS: NOT USUAL GLORIOUS, Dusk Falls, Does It

RACE 9 - 4:25PM Nigel Tippett's 60th Handicap (1250 METRES)

LE BELLA COSTA finished off smartly first-up from a break down the straight at Flemington and has two wins and a second from five second up runs. She will need a touch of luck in running but looks well placed and the money is there to suggest she’ll run very well. FLYING AWARD had a boom through the spring and tackled some of the good races. He hasn’t raced since running down th track in the Coolmore and is now with Leon and Troy Corstens. His best form was when he got back and he must be given plenty of thought. MIDNIGHT STORM has been going super since joining the Macdonald/Gluyas team. He draws a tricky barrier but gets in well after the claim. TRIP will be forward and is sure to be in the mix again, she found the top but was out toughed by La Richesse last week, but has a great record here and will make her own luck. LA RICHESSE produced a super run first-up when she worked across and controlled the race outside the leader, she’s drawn out again but is going to be right in the mix. ECHOES IN ETERNITY was held-up before she charged late last time and is an above average mare with solid claims here. EXTRA MILE is racing well, JUST CHIPPING AWAY draws a nice barrier, DUNE FIELD has handy Victorian form and is first-up in SA.

SELECTIONS: LA BELLA COSTA, Flying Award, Midnight Storm
