The National Jockey’s Trust Golf Day is back in 2021 at Glenelg Golf Club on Monday, November 22.
Whips and saddles will be swapped for wedges and irons when the state’s racing participants take to the course in the annual team event.
SA rider Eran Boyd says the Golf Day is one of her favourite days away from the track and she is more than happy to leave the golf action to others.
“I enjoy Golf Day so much because it is a great fun way to help promote and raise money in support of the National Jockeys Trust,’’ Boyd said.
“It was a shame we had to miss last year's event due to COVID, but as an industry we have been so lucky to keep racing through everything over the past 18 months or so, we’ve been very lucky.
“The NJT do incredible work for injured riders and their families, this day is a good way for us to help give back to those who support us riders in a time of need,’’ she said.
NJT’s Julie Darling said the only downside to this year’s event was the inability for some big-name interstate participants to make the trip to Adelaide.
“The only hiccup is not being able to get any Group 1 jockeys over due to the current border closures,’’ Darling said.
It is a 7am start for breakfast and registration before the golf begins.
There are a number of opportunities to get involved:
- Gold Sponsorship ($2500) which includes two teams of four golfers, luncheon, live auction along with hole sponsorship and promotional opportunities.
- Team/Player packages ($1200, $300pp) which includes breakfast, golf, luncheon and all the entertainment.
- A luncheon valued at $100.
