Bain hopes to continue hot form at bumper Jamestown meeting

Gawler horseman Aaron Bain will chase a unique two-state double in different codes on Saturday.

Bain will be seeking local Country Cup success with Al Ranchero in Saturday’s $12,900 Jamestown Cup before he gears up former New Zealand pacing filly American Beauty in a heat of the Victorian Oaks at Melton later that night.

Bain has produced four winners from his past five thoroughbred runners after doubles at Mindarie-Halidon and last week’s Gawler meeting.

Al Ranchero broken his maiden status winning at Gawler and is among 11 Cup entries while the Jamestown meeting has attracted strong numbers with 81 nominations for the six-race Non-TAB card.

South Australia’s leading stable - Richard and Chantelle Jolly - will also chase a two-state double with Kalamon one of three Jamestown nominations while Kemalpasa and Alpha Flight among Flemington entries.

The stable also has seven horses nominated at Morphettville on Saturday.
