RACE 1 - 12:17PM Maughan Thiem Ford Handicap (1200 METRES)

ZARKANA was well found in betting first-up from a break when she got well back and was beaten 0.8 lengths behind Voltage Point here. She draws the inside and should take some beating. STOKOMO has the right form lines for this, he showed ability early beating Sioux Warrior at Balaklava on debut, ran 2nd behind Vexatious Dancer before a good run behind Sir Sway on the Parks in March. He draws out, the market has been against him early but he’s a horse with upside. EXCEL AND FLY was a Geelong winner first-up from a spell and draws a nice gate to be in the mix. SHARENDIPITY has a handy record and was OK first-up beaten 4.8 lengths behind Hooked On Wealth. She draws a nice gate. LEGACY ROSE was a Ballarat winner on the synthetic last time and draws well.

DIXIE WHISTLER was 5th beaten 5.3 lengths in the same race and gets a nice weight swing here from an inside draw. LAKE’S FOLLY gets in OK after the 2kg claim and was 2nd behind Crown Mint last week on the Parks. SENOR UNO was a Sandown winner at a price four runs back and one capable of improving in a race like this. SHEARMAN DYER was a good winner back in class at Murray Bridge last time out and that form is good enough to be somewhere in the mix in an open race. EUREKA’S VICTORY has drifted since markets went up but was OK beaten 4.4 lengths behind Privileged Son last time on the Parks and draws a nice gate. FOX GEM is a horse more than capable in a race like this and his Murray Bridge win two starts back was good.  KLABEL has been in great form winning his past three the latest beating Sixteen Reasons at Murray Bridge. He gets some weight relief but has only been placed once here in five runs. SURPRISE COMING hasn’t raced since beating Lingani at Murray Bridge in June, that form reads very well on paper and he draws a nice gate for his return. OCEAN REWARD is going super and finished off hard again when 3rd behind Lingani on the Parks. He has a good record here, deserves to break through and looks over the odds. HE’S OUR BONNEVAL was 2nd in the Mildura Cup two runs back before running 4th behind Home Rule at Moonee Valley. He draws a nice gate and looks well placed here. JACK THE LAD resumes. He won the Murray Bridge Cup last year but didn’t come up last time in work, draws out but could produce fresh. ALL BEANS resumed with a good effort when beaten 4.1 lengths behind Lingani on the Parks and that’s good form for this.

SELECTIONS: 8 SURPRISE COMING, 5 Ocean Reward, 4 Klabel, 2 He's Our Bonneval
PLAY: Backing OCEAN’S REWARD each-way.

ANGRY SKIES is a winner here previously and was 4th behind Aspen Colorado at Moonee Valley before winning on the Ballarat synthetic track last time. He draws a middle gate and has been well found since markets went up. The danger looks to be SACHEM who draws an awkward barrier but has been racing well winning impressively here two runs back before a narrow win over BRAVE STAR last time who hasn’t done a lot wrong. Likewise MARACOURT he turned his luckless run around to score a 1.5 length win over Cawdor at Murray Bridge last time. He draws out but gets Craig Newitt. ARUGAMAMA is second-up from a break and gets some weight relief here, she could be a big improver getting out in trip.

SELECTIONS: 2 ANGRY SKIES, 13 Sachem, 6 Brave Star, 12 Maracourt
PLAY: Backing ANGRY SKIES.

RACE 8 - 4:27PM Sydney Robert McDonald Memorial Handicap (1521 METRES)

FALANGHINA had been around the mark in Victoria before she was well found first-up in SA beating Angelic Appeal at Murray Bridge. She maps well from a good gate and looks a solid each-way play again in a race where there hasn’t been a lot of market action. RESERVOIR DOG was a good winner here two runs back before he was beaten 0.4 lengths in 3rd behind Aiguilette last week on the Parks. He draws out but should be in the mix again. RACE 9 - 5:03PM House Inspect Australia Handicap (1100 METRES)

SIR SWAY is a promising horse with four wins from seven starts and he took some big steps last campaign winning the Listed Redelva Stakes, beating Stretan Angel before he was 4.3 lengths behind Skybird in the G2 Tobin Bronze. He’s unbeaten fresh, gets in well with the claim and is a horse who could be destined for better races in the spring. JEAN VALJEAN should give this a shake. He was good running 2nd behind The Guava first-up at Murray Bridge and then worked home OK beaten 2.5 lengths in 5th behind Hooked On Wealth. WIGGUM was OK beaten 4.6 lengths behind Lingani in the Lightning first-up. He gets an inside gate and he was a winner down the Flemington straight last campaign. HOWL was good first-up when beaten 3.5 lengths behind Lingani, he draws out but is a horse who will be suited if they go quickly and he’s out of trouble. VOLTAGE POINT has won his past two the latest here beating Zarkana, he draws to get a perfect run again. COLD CASE resumes and his form last time in was good winning on the Parks twice. THREE RINGS has won his past couple at Murray Bridge and was too good for Sachem before beating Bamyan Buddha. LUMBER PUNK is a watch first-up for Matt Seyers. He has been 2nd at his past two in Darwin behind Lumber Punk, the latest in the Palmerston Sprint and his best would be in the mix. SAVILLE resumes from a wide gate but has run well in better races.

SELECTIONS: 4 SIR SWAY, 7 Jean Valjean, 2 Wiggum, 3 Howl
PLAY: Backing SIR SWAY but wide in the quaddie.
