Victorian apprentice Matthew Chadwick will make South Australia his temporary home during the spring.
Chadwick, 25, works for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr and will spend the next three months on loan to Chris Bieg in Adelaide as he searches for increased opportunities during the Melbourne Spring Carnival.
Chadwick arrived in Adelaide early this week and is booked for one ride at Murray Bridge on Wednesday along with rides at Morphettville on the weekend.
“Matt is a really good lad,’’ Bieg said.
“Hopefully there are some good opportunities for him here in SA and he can get rolling and plenty of winners,’’ he said.
Bieg said Chadwick’s ability to claim three kilograms at both provincial and metropolitan meetings would offer a point of difference in the Adelaide riding ranks.
“He can ride comfortably at 53kg,’’ Bieg said.
“And he’s got a 3kg claim in both the city and at provincial level which will be a real asset here we don’t have too many guys claiming 3kg at the moment so hopefully he gets plenty of chances while he is here.
