AS MAD AS ELSIE (A. Jordsjo) – began awkwardly and shortly after shifted in tightening ATHANOR onto ELECTRA BLUE.

ATHANOR (R. Milnes) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Steadied shortly after the start between ELECTRA BLUE and AS MAD AS ELSIE, which shifted in.

MISS NARRANGA (S. Metcalfe) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

SOFTLY BLACK (J. Eaton) – raced keen in the early stages.

STEP FORWARD (S. Logan) – near the 150m was momentarily steadied when racing to the inside of HEIDI HEIDI HO. Near the 50m was again tightened and had to be steadied when HEIDI HEIDI HO shifted in.

HEIDI HEIDI HO (D. Tourneur) – laid in, in the straight. Near the 150m shifted in and tightened STEP FORWARD. Near the 50m shifted in again when insufficiently clear of STEP FORWARD tightening that mare, which had to be steadied. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding.

MUMMA GAS (C. Jones) – began awkwardly and lost ground.

AFRICARN LAD (D. Tourneur) – began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DOUBLE YOU OWE (NZ) (S. Payne) – began awkwardly. Raced keen in the middle stages. Rider reported that the gelding hung out rounding the turn from the 800m to the 350m. Near the 300m became awkward on the heels of TWO PERCENT ICE and had to be steadied.

FRESH AIR FRED (S. Logan) – rider reported that the gelding hung out badly throughout. Trainer, Mr S. Stutley, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding.

THE LAST DANCE (J. Holder) – held up rounding the home turn between the 550m and the 400m behind MY CRACKLING and to the inside of HONDURAS.

TWO PERCENT ICE (C. Jones) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 250m became awkward on the heels of FRESH AIR FRED and had to be steadied and shifted in.

HONDURAS (I. Lam) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

GEOKAUN (C. Jones) – hung out under pressure in the straight.

SOODON (L. Neindorf) – lost its near fore plate during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BELT 'N' BUCKLE (S. Payne) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CHUCKAMICKY (S. Fawke) – hung out rounding the home turn.

TOTEMO HAYAI (D. Caboche) – knuckled at the start and lost ground.

BELLMAN (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as it had raced at Streaky Bay on Saturday, 23 March 2024, and was found to be lame in the near foreleg (2/5) and therefore was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared BELLMAN (NZ) a late scratching at 1.21pm.

WARRANDYTE ROAD (A. Jordsjo) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FIZIQUE (S. Logan) – hung out for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride, and raced wide from the 1200m until near the 650m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an old wound in the left side of the mouth. When questioned trainer, Ms S. Rutten, explained that after the gelding’s last start it was noted that there was a cut on the left side of the mouth which she felt had improved; however, on return to scale today it was evident the cut had reopened. Acting on assurance from Ms Rutten that she would not start the gelding again until its mouth had healed no further action was taken against the gelding other than a warning.

SIESTA DREAM (K. Crowther) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed filly to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Mr G. Kluske, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

MR RODMAN (NZ) (S. Payne) – shifted in near the 1300m and momentarily tightened SOCIAL GROUP, which was eased. Shortly after passing the 400m was tightened and bumped by SOCIAL GROUP, which was taken in by SIRMAZE. As a result MR RODMAN (NZ) shifted in, bumped the running rail and became unbalance and was severely checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PULAMBI (R. Milnes) – shortly after passing the 400m became awkward on the heels of MR RODMAN (NZ), stumbled and dislodged its rider. PULAMBI then shifted out abruptly when riderless and bumped ZOFFERELLA, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Rider was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.

FIAMETTE (N. Seymour) – slow to begin. Shortly after passing the 400m, when trying to avoid a fallen rider, was severely hampered, became unbalanced and dislodged its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Rider was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and was passed fit to continue riding.

SOCIAL GROUP (I. Lam) – near the 1300m was eased when momentarily tightened inside of MR RODMAN (NZ). Near the 400m was tightened by SIRMAZE, and in turn shifted in and bumped MR RODMAN (NZ).

ZOFFERELLA (S. Metcalfe) – shortly after passing the 400m was severely hampered and taken wider on the track when bumped heavily by PULAMBI, which received interference and dislodged its rider.

MEDAL QUEST (A. Jordsjo) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was found to have blood in its near side nostril. Acting on this advice Stewards declared MEDAL QUEST a late scratching at 3.59pm. It was determined the blood was a result of the mare striking its head in the day stalls when being saddled and as such no further action was taken against the horse.

SIRMAZE (B. Price) – shortly after passing the 400m shifted in and tightened SOCIAL GROUP onto MR RODMAN (NZ). As a result MR RODMAN (NZ) bumped the running rail, became unbalanced and was severely checked. Consequently PULAMBI, which was following MR RODMAN (NZ), became awkward on that gelding’s heels, stumbled and dislodged its rider. Thereafter, shifted out and severely hampered ZOFFERELLA. FIAMETTE, which was racing on the outside, was then severely hampered when trying to avoid the fallen rider and as such became unbalanced and dislodged its rider. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Monday, 1 April 2024 to conclude midnight Wednesday, 24 April 2024, a period of ten meetings.

SEA OF SECRETS (S. Payne) – slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TERAMBI (R. Milnes) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GARRIRE (I. Lam) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Lost its near fore plate during the event.

CLUB PUNTER (C. Murray) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

CANIDAE (A. Livesey) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 300m was disappointed for a run when attempting to improve between CLUB PUNTER and INTO THE LIGHT, and had to shift wider to improve.

CHEROKEE MISS (J. Toeroek) – slow to begin. Held up and unable to improve between the 200m and 100m behind CLUB PUNTER.

KUBLAI (R. Milnes) – shifted in near the 800m and tightened DARE TO BE FREE. Rider was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

DARE TO BE FREE (S. Metcalfe) – near the 800m was tightened and got its head up when racing to the inside of KUBLAI.

LUNASHA (L. Neindorf) – began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GRAFTON AVENUE.

NO ENTITLEMENT (A. Livesey) – began awkwardly and shifted out.

SIPSMITH (S. Logan) – near the 50m became tight on the inside of GAME COVE.

GRAFTON AVENUE (Z. Lloyd) – hampered and lost ground shortly after the start when taken out by LUNASHA. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GAME COVE (S. Fawke) – Stewards permitted S. Fawke to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allocated weight of 54.0kg. Laid in over the concluding stages and near the 50m momentarily tightened SIPSMITH.
