APACHE STATION (J. Kissick) – rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 300m.

BOLD DISCENT (A. Jordsjo) – near the 1100m was forced to take hold to avoid the heels of HOT OFF, which shifted in. Lost its near fore plate during the event.

DOUBLE YOU OWE (NZ) (S. Payne) - slow to begin. Rounding the home turn the riders saddle shifted significantly to the near side placing the rider at a disadvantage for a number of strides when re-adjusting its position.

PANDARUS (A. Lai) – Stewards questioned Trainer, Mr J. Matthews into the apparent improved performance of the gelding. Mr Matthews explained that in his opinion the improved performance was due to the gelding not racing behind other runners, as in his opinion, it resents being positioned behind other runners and does not perform at its best. He added that the horse continued to work well after its previous start.

SOODON (A. Livesey) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

HOT OFF (M. Collett) – near the 1100m shifted in when insufficiently clear of BOLD DISCENT, which was forced to take hold to avoid the gelding’s heels. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Wednesday, 17 April 2024 and to conclude midnight Wednesday, 24 April 2024, a period of three meetings. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account M. Collett’s good record and her guilty plea.

MAHENO (R. Milnes) – Stewards questioned Trainer, Mr B. Cozamanis in relation to this gelding being heavily supported in betting markets. Mr Cozamanis advised that the stable had only supported MAHENO moderately and he had no explanation for the significant betting move. He added that in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation and was likely to be freshened up.

TWO PERCENT ICE (F. Atkinson) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

LOVE DUBAI (S. Fawke) – rider explained that the mare was off the bridle throughout the event, had never travelled and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Mr G. Lynch was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

OPPORTUNE CHANCE (J. Holder) - jumped away awkwardly.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

GEOKAUN (C. Jones) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LUDO (NZ) (J. Maund) – hung out from near the 900m until the entrance to the straight.

MIKKI BEAN (S. Fawke) – shortly after the start shifted out and away from LUDO (NZ) onto PENDING HEART.

PENDING HEART (J. Kissick) – inconvenienced shortly after the start when MIKKI BEAN shifted out and away from LUDO (NZ).

DARK'N'STORMY (S. Metcalfe) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

NURYS (A. Lindsay) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly onto OUR GLAMOUR GIRL.

OUR GLAMOUR GIRL (C. Munro) – inconvenienced on jumping away.

THINK IT MATTERS (W. Cave) – Trainer, Mr K. Modra was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its pre-race manners on arrival at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

VALIEVA (J. Toeroek) - slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from near the 500m until approaching the 300m.

ARAMOSO (A. Jordsjo) - jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DODD (C. Jones) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

HARD PRINCE (C. Murray) – became awkwardly placed on the heels of WADAANA near the 500m and then had difficulty obtaining clear ground until inside the 300m.

I TELL YA WHAT (J. Opperman) – near the 200m became awkwardly placed on the heels of MY CRACKLING, which had been taken out slightly and was obliged to alter course to that gelding’s outside to obtain clear ground.

MONTCELOT (J. Holder) - jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

SIX STARS (J. Toeroek) – held up in the vicinity of the 500m and was only able to obtain clear ground near the 300m.

THAVMA (S. Metcalfe) - jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to race greenly and shift about throughout the event.

NICISH (L. Neindorf) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

WADAANA (F. Atkinson) – in the vicinity of the 500m shifted in towards the running rail, over-reacted and became awkward in its action for a number of strides.

EXALTED KATE (J. Toeroek) – contacted on jumping away. Rider reported that the mare never travelled and when asked for an effort at the entrance to the straight was not comfortable in its action and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LADY HOUDINI (N. Seymour) – on return to scale N. Seymour dismounted LADY HOUDINI in the vicinity of the crossing. N. Seymour was examined by First Care Medical personnel who reported that he was dehydrated. N. Seymour was stood down from his remaining engagement and was advised that he would require a Medical Clearance before engaging in any form of riding.

NO ENTITLEMENT (F. Atkinson) – Stewards questioned rider in relation to her not persisting for a run approaching the 100m between VELVET STAR and SELLIX when, in their opinion, there appeared to be sufficient room. Rider explained that she had attempted to obtain that run from the entrance to the straight; however, the mare was reluctant to take it and was not going well enough to improve into it. She added that approaching the 100m there was a slight shift from both runners which restricted her room and for this reason she elected to alter course to the outside of other runners to enable her mount to obtain clear ground and have a free run to the finish. Stewards noted her explanation.

SELLIX (J. Maund) – raced keenly in the middle stages when awkwardly placed on the heels of REDWINELOVER, which eased the pace slightly.

VELVET STAR (M. Collett) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto EXALTED KATE.

REDWINELOVER (C. Murray) – laid out over the concluding 50m.

The start of this event was delayed approximately five minutes owing to First Care Medical Personnel attending to N. Seymour after the previous race.

NOT A SINGLE BID (S. Payne) – restrained at the start to obtain a position closer to the running rail. Lost its near fore plate during the event.

BASE OF FIRE (I. Lam) – shifted out at the entrance to the straight and took LEON'S SHOUT out onto CORK HARBOUR. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a). Laid out under pressure in the straight and near the 150m shifted out into the running line of LEON'S SHOUT, which was obliged to be eased and had to alter course to the gelding’s inside to obtain clear ground. Shifted in under riding and approaching the finish shifted into the running line of LEON'S SHOUT. Stewards directed, under AR144, that I. Lam be required to attend a Riding Skills Panel for remedial training and mentoring in relation to similar incidents in future.

LEON'S SHOUT (J. Holder) – inconvenienced when taken wider rounding the home turn by BASE OF FIRE. In the vicinity of the 150m was obliged to alter course to the inside of BASE OF FIRE, which shifted out.

CORK HARBOUR (D. Caboche) – at the entrance to the straight had to be steadied when LEON'S SHOUT was taken out into its running line by BASE OF FIRE.

WANNASCHMACK (C. Murray) – slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

ALLUSION (R. Milnes) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

CHARLESFORT (T. Voorham) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TRANSZAM (T. Pannell) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FIAMETTE (S. Metcalfe) – slow to begin.

FALAISE (M. Collett) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

TWO TIMES TWICE (C. Munro) - slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

RUN AND TELL (I. Lam) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

IMPOSING SUSPECT (NZ) (F. Atkinson) - slow to begin.

TERAMBI (A. Jordsjo) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Rider reported that the gelding commenced to hang out severely at the entrance to the straight and made excess respiratory noise and for this reason she did not ride her mount out in her normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ELECTRA BLUE (T. Pannell) – laid out over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

REGAL ROCKET (S. Fawke) - slow to begin.

SWANKYTOFF (J. Kissick) – laid out from near the 800m until the entrance to the straight.

TOBIWASHI (A. Livesey) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.
