CROWN AND ANCHOR (J. Holder) – raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider reported that the gelding may not have been suited to the step up in distance in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DARK LAGER (C. Jones) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped RIVOLI VIEW.

KETCHIKAN (J. Toeroek) – raced wide and without cover from the 1500m for the remainder of the event.

RIVOLI VIEW (R. Milnes) – on jumping away bumped with DARK LAGER, which shifted out. Held up for clear running from the 400m until near the 200m.

WHISKY SOUR (T. Pannell) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

THE TANK (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly.

EXALTED BELLE (S. Logan) – shortly after the start shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

WIRRINYA (A. Lai) – jumped away awkwardly. Near the 200m was awkwardly placed on the heels of DARK LAGER for several strides.

SHIFFANY (J. Potter) – shortly after the start shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Difficulty obtaining clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 200m where it shifted out.

EXILED LOVE (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – rider could offer no explanation other than that the gelding was disappointing in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MAJESTIC MOSHE (S. Logan) – shortly after the start, from its wide barrier, shifted in.

EFFICACY (T. Pannell) – rider explained the gelding will derive benefit from the first up run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

HONDURAS (S. Payne) – hung in under pressure in the straight.

MIST THE DEDLINE (D. Tourneur) – raced keenly in the lead in the early and middle stages.

IVA DREAM (T. Voorham) – slow to begin.

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (J. Opperman) – raced wide and without cover in the early stages and near the 1300m was permitted to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader.

PENDING HEART (Z. Lloyd) – raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide and without cover in the early and middle stages.

The start of this event was delayed approximately five minutes owing to QUINDIO requiring farrier attention.

MONTANA STATE (D. Caboche) – hung in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MAGIC FIELD (T. Hutchinson) – began well.

EXALTED JOY (J. Potter) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had not raced for over twelve months and was deemed suitable to start. Approaching the 100m became awkwardly placed on the heels of THE CREED and shifted out to obtain clear running.

ZOUNORMOUS (D. Tourneur) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had not raced for over twelve months and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.

AM I THE DRAMA (F. Atkinson) – laid in under pressure in the early part of the straight and as a result the rider changed her whip to her left hand and shortly after AM I THE DRAMA commenced to lay out for the remainder of the event.

QUINDIO (C. Munro) – fractious when being mounted and dislodged its rider. C. Munro was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and passed fit to fulfil her riding engagements. In the process QUINDIO lost its near hind plate and was required to be reshod prior to leaving the mounting yard. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to start.

SAKOWIN (J. Holder) – laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have bled from both nostrils. Stable representative for trainer, Mr M. Shepherdson, was advised that as this was the filly’s first bi-lateral bleed SAKOWIN would now be suspended from racing for a period of three months in accordance with AR79(4).

SOCIAL DANCER (J. Opperman) – slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

REVOLUTION BELLE (C. Munro) – near the 700m rolled out and then shortly after rolled in, resulting in BROMELIA (NZ) having to be steadied when it improved to the inside of that mare. Held up for clear running from the 400m and near the 300m was disappointed when attempting a tight run between UNICORNY and REDWINELOVER, was obliged to be steadied and continued to be held up for clear running and was not tested to the finish.

EXTRA HOT (D. Tourneur) – at the entrance to the straight rolled out taking PRETENTIOUS LASS wider.

LUNASHA (T. Pannell) – rider explained in relation to the filly’s performance that it travelled well throughout the run; however, did not feel comfortable in its action on return to the mounting yard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CHAMPAGNE AFFAIR (C. Tootell) – rider reported that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action on return to the mounting yard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr C. Harrison, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

PRETENTIOUS LASS (R. Milnes) –raced wide and without cover from the 800m. At the entrance to the straight was taken wider by EXTRA HOT. Rider could offer no explanation in relation to the mare’s performance other than it may appreciate racing on track with more give. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

UNICORNY (F. Atkinson) – began well.

JIVE BABY (J. Toeroek) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

BROMELIA (NZ) (A. Jordsjo) – slow to begin. Near the 700m improved into a tight run to the inside of REVOLUTION BELLE, which had rolled out and shortly after rolled in, and as a result BROMELIA (NZ) was obliged to be steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LADY TUCAN (S. Metcalfe) – over-raced in the early and middle stages.

PANDARUS (C. Jones) – fractious in the barrier after being loaded. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start.

GETOUTTHEWAY (S. Payne) – slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 300m.

L'ESPERANCE ROCK (T. Pannell) – raced wide and without cover from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SADLER’S SONG (T. Voorham) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

ABAN (NZ) (C. Munro) – held up for clear running at the entrance to the straight for a short distance.

CRY CRY BABY (J. Eaton) – slow to begin approximately 4-5 lengths. Trainer, Mr M. Seyers, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its starting manner.

PETERZANO (S. Metcalfe) – hung out throughout the event.

VEGAS DESTINY (NZ) (R. Milnes) – slow to begin approximately 1-2 lengths.

FRANKEL STAR (C. Munro) – in the early stages was ridden aggressively in an attempt to obtain a position forward in the field.

SHALAGA (C. Tootell) – slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running from shortly after the entrance to the straight until near the 300 metres.

SUPER VALENTINE (S. Metcalfe) – shortly after the start was restrained and shifted in from its wide barrier in an attempt to gain cover.

CHOSEN MISS (R. Milnes) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course and was deemed suitable to start.

ROSE OF DUPORTH (P. Brewster) – raced keenly in the lead throughout the event despite the efforts of its rider. Liad out under pressure in the straight. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the event, rider explained that her instructions were to encourage the mare to begin well and from the inside barrier she found herself further forward. She added that she was mindful that ROSE OF DUPORTH could be ungenerous when restraining and therefore she allowed the mare to stride forward. She further added that when attempting to restrain the mare commenced to race keenly and felt that it was in the mare’s best interest to allow her to stride freely. Co-trainer, Mr A. Bain, confirmed the instructions provided.

NOT A BRASS RAZOO (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FLIGHT DECK (NZ) (D. Tourneur) – laid out under pressure in the straight.
