TALISAY (J. Holder) – raced greenly in the straight and was inclined to shift about under pressure.

BIG BRUTE (F. Atkinson) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until near the 200m.

SEE YA LATER BABY (E. Finnegan) – dipped for no apparent reason near the 800m. Rider reported that in her opinion the gelding was not comfortable in the track condition.

MAGNA MAK (L. Neindorf) – contacted on jumping away. Inside the 1000m shifted in when insufficiently clear of TINY BAY, forcing the rider of that filly to take hold and alter course to avoid heels. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 22 June 2024 to conclude midnight Wednesday, 3 July 2024, a period of five meetings.

TINY BAY (P. Brewster) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in contacting MAGNA MAK. Inside the 1000m rider was forced to take hold and alter course to avoid the heels of MAGNA MAK, which shifted in. Rider reported that the filly raced greenly throughout the event and did not feel comfortable in its action in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

THE REAL PRINCE (F. Atkinson) – raced greenly throughout the event.

KAHALA BAY (C. Tootell) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting LUCY JOIE. Raced wide without cover and greenly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RUSCHEYNE (A. Jordsjo) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Wednesday, 26 June 2024 to conclude midnight Sunday, 30 June 2024, a period of two meetings. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by A. Jordsjo and noted that she used it on seven occasions over the final 100m of the event. In arriving at this decision Stewards also took into account A. Jordsjo’s excellent record in relation to whip breaches.

THRONE OF GOD (S. Fawke) – rider reported that the mare raced greenly throughout the event.

LUCY JOIE (T. Voorham) – contacted on jumping away.

MAHI MAHI (J. Holder) – rider reported that the filly got its tongue over the bit during the event. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $300. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by J. Holder and noted that he used it on six occasions over the final 100m of the event.

CHOPPA DE GRASS (S. Payne) – inconvenienced when contacted on jumping away. Rider reported that the gelding was field shy and reluctant when racing between other runners.

JACOBS GATE (T. Voorham) – shifted in shortly after the start and contacted INAUGURAL.

SAINT MICHAEL (M. Collett) – dipped for no apparent reason near the 900m and again near the 800m.

SPINACH (A. Jordsjo) – at the entrance to the straight had to be momentarily steadied when tightened between ZAIN PRINCE, which rolled out slightly, and JACOBS GATE, which shifted in.

ZAIN PRINCE (T. Hutchinson) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

INAUGURAL (J. Holder) – inconvenienced when contacted on jumping away.

PRIDE OF SHALAA (T. Johnstone) – slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until inside the 200m.

SULTRINESS (NZ) (J. Potter) – kicked out in its barrier after being loaded. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

DARK HELMET (NZ) (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto CHOPPA DE GRASS.

FRANKIE DIVINE (T. Pannell) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

HARBOURING (T. Hutchinson) – jumped away awkwardly. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Wednesday, 26 June 2024 and to conclude midnight Wednesday, 3 July 2024, a period of two meetings. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by T. Hutchinson and noted that she used it on eight occasions over the final 100m of the event.

THE CASSINI (C. Jones) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight and near the 200m was disappointed when attempting a run between ALLUSION, which rolled in slightly at the same time as BYWATERS ROAD shifted out. Rider was then obliged to alter course to the inside of BYWATERS ROAD and was only able to obtain clear ground approaching the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FANTASTIC HOST (S. Payne) – rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $1500. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by S. Payne and noted that he used it on fifteen occasions over the final 100m.

PANDARUS (T. Pannell) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PRINCE OF TOKYO (T. Voorham) – stood flat-footed and was slow to begin missing the start several lengths. Trainer, Mr W. Brown, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding.

SPELMAN (D. Tourneur) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

BUSH INFLUENCE (A. Livesey) – raced fiercely in the early and middle stages of the event.

The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event. The start was delayed a further two minutes owing to a horse becoming cast in its barrier.

DAMAGED (J. Holder) – contacted on jumping away.

BERKINSON (T. Hutchinson) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

REGAL DANCER (J. Opperman) – after being loaded its head became cast in an adjoining stall. Was removed from the barriers, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

EMMOOKI MAGIC (C. Tootell) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting DAMAGED.

SHEZ BETTY (A. Livesey) – slow into stride.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

ROAD TO BLUE SKY (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.

ON BAIL (NZ) (D. Caboche) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

LEADER'S PRIDE (M. Collett) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

AMERICAN TROUBLE (D. Tourneur) – laid out under pressure in the straight. Stewards questioned D. Tourneur in relation to the instructions he was provided in this event. He explained that he was instructed to allow the mare to find a position in racing that it was comfortable and not to fight it to obtain a particular position. He explained that the mare jumped away extremely well and found itself in a positive position early, and for this reason he had allowed it to stride forward and obtain the lead of its own accord. He added that the mare travelled well during the event and responded when asked for an effort in the straight. Stewards questioned D. Tourneur in relation to his riding of AMERICAN TROUBLE over the concluding stages of the event. After considering his explanation Stewards charged D. Tourneur under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. D. Tourneur pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for a period to commence midnight Wednesday, 26 June 2024 to conclude midnight Wednesday, 3 July 2024, a period of the three meetings. In arriving at this decision Stewards took into account that the rider’s actions may have impacted the mare’s finishing position.

JUST JOKING (T. Johnstone) – rider reported that the mare never travelled and did not respond to her riding when asked for an effort at the entrance to the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
