EFFICACY (D. Caboche) – slow to begin. Near the 1200m was inconvenienced and had to be steadied when taken in onto the heels of SPECTAUR by HONDURAS, which shifted in.

HONDURAS (I. Lam) – near the 1300m shifted in and away from HAUNUI (NZ) onto EFFICACY. Laid in, in the early part of the straight.

HAUNUI (NZ) (J. Potter) – laid out, in the straight.

WIRRINYA (F. Atkinson) – slow into stride. Laid in, in the straight.

SPECTAUR (A. Lindsay) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow A. Lai (SWEETWILLHEBE), placed second, and co-trainer, Mr W. Hornhardt, to view the vision in the straight. After doing so A. Lai lodged an objection against HONDURAS (I. Lam) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 80m of the event. After considering the evidence, viewing the vision and acting on their own observations Stewards dismissed the protest. Rider A. Lai was reprimanded under AR219(5) in relation to lodging a protest which, in the opinion of Stewards, was frivolous.

TOUGH CRITIC (H. Yuen) – hung in throughout the event and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ME NAME'S HARRY (A. Jordsjo) – raced greenly in the straight.

NEON'S LAST (Z. Lloyd) – jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Laid in, in the straight.

SEMINARA (J Potter) – laid out, in the straight.

CRACKLING ROYALE (W. Cave) – on jumping away was contacted by SAM’S REWARD, which shifted out.

SOCIAL DANCER (C. Tootell) – near the 300m was momentarily held up when awkwardly placed on the heels of WILD INFERENCE, which had commenced to weaken, and shifted out to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SAM'S REWARD (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and contacted CRACKLING ROYALE.

TRANSZAM (S. Fawke) – slow to begin. Rider reported that the gelding never travelled in today’s event.

SCODELARIO (M. Collett) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Ms R. McDonald, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to being uncompetitive (beaten 33 lengths).

The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes.

HARBOURING (B. King) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced on Wednesday, 19 June 2024 and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

OLI ALPINE (R. Milnes) – near the 800m rider had to take hold of her mount to avoid the heels of REGAL ROCKET, which shifted in. Rider reported that after the gelding received interference near the 800m it never travelled for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

REGAL ROCKET (S. Fawke) – rider reported that the gelding laid in throughout the event.

COMMANDING REIGN (J. Doyle) – jumped away awkwardly.

HOT FLUSH (T. Hutchinson) – near the 600m rolled out and became awkwardly placed on the heels of TINY REBEL for a short distance.

READY SET TAP (A. Lai) – shortly after being loaded became fractious in its barrier and became cast for some time. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared READY SET TAP a late scratching at 1.51 pm. Trainer, Mr D. Penna, was advised that the mare would now be required to prove tractable in either an Official Barrier Trial or Approval to Race Jump-out prior to a future race start.

LUNAR SOLAR (T. Hutchinson) – inside the 100m rider momentarily lost the use of her off side rein.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT (J. Potter) – laid out in the straight.

RICHED (S. Fawke) – raced keenly in the early and middle stage of the event. Laid in, in the straight.

MORE SNITZEL (J. Doyle) – laid out over the concluding stages of the event.

BROADWAY LANE (F. Atkinson) – laid in, in the straight. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages of the event.

LANCELOTTO (A. Lai) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and contacted NASDANA. Held up for clear running from the 400m until the 200m.

MANDRAGORIAN (A. Lindsay) – on arrival on course underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). Acting on this advice Stewards declared MANDRAGORIAN a late scratching at 1.33 pm. Trainer, Mr J. McMahon, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE (I. Lam) – had difficulty obtaining clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 200m.

NASDANA (R. Milnes) – on jumping away was contacted by LANCELOTTO, which shifted in.

A THOUSAND DEGREES (H. Yuen) – jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.

I'M KENNY (R. Milnes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FAIR LEGACY (S. Fawke) – near the 300m shifted out onto BADISS, which clipped the heels of FAIR LEGACY. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Sunday, 23 June 2024 to conclude midnight Saturday, 6 July 2024, a period of five meetings. In determining penalty Stewards took into account S. Fawke’s good record and his guilty plea.

FRANKEL STAR (A. Jordsjo) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (2/5). Trainer, Mr M. Seyers, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

SHALAGA (C. Tootell) – jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

JAMCRA (NZ) (B King) – jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.

BADISS (A. Livesey) – change of tactics – attempt to settle further forward – settled outside the leader. Near the 300m clipped the heels of FAIR LEGACY which shifted out and lost considerable ground. Rider explained that after clipping the heels of FAIR LEGACY she did not feel comfortable with gelding’s action and for this action did ride BADISS out in her usual manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
