The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes. AMBLESIDE (B. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. COMMISSIONS (J. Eaton) – laid out rounding the home turn and then under pressure in the straight. KIRKLISTON BLU (S. Payne) – contacted on jumping away. Raced greenly throughout the event. Hung out over the concluding 100m. ONLYCHANCEWEGET (C. Murray) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer, Mr S. Gower, was advised that as this was the gelding’s first bi-lateral bleed ONLYCHANCEWEGET would now be suspended from racing for a period of three months in accordance with AR79(4) and would be required to have the gelding reinstated in accordance with AR79(4)(b) prior to a future race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. DETORON (A. Livesey) – hampered on jumping away when contacted and tightened onto HOT STRUT by JACOB’S GATE. Taken wider in the early stages of the straight by COMMISSIONS, which laid out. Lost its off hind plate during the event. TOTEMO HAYAI (D. Caboche) – proved difficult to load. Co-trainers, Mr J. Hickmott and Ms C. Riggs, were advised that a warning had been placed on the mare. CARIBBEAN BREEZE (E. Finnegan) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and contacted KIRKLISTON BLU. Raced greenly in the straight and was inclined to shift about. Inside the 200m shifted in onto TYUSIX, which had shifted out to improve, resulting in that runner being forced to steady. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding. HOT STRUT (J. Potter) – inconvenienced on jumping away when contacted by DETORON, which had been taken in. IDRACOWRA (R. Milnes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight, and then inside the 200m became held up until able to alter course to obtain clear ground approaching the 100m. Inclined to lay in over the concluding 100m. TYUSIX (S. Fawke) – near the 200m was disappointed when attempting a run between DETORON and CARIBBEAN BREEZE, which shifted in resulting in the mare having to be steadied, being taken in and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of DETORON for a number of strides. |

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. ICHIBANSAN (J. Opperman) – Stewards questioned rider J. Opperman into his instructions for today’s event. He explained that his instructions were the same as he has be provided at the gelding’s recent starts in that he was to be positive early in an attempt to obtain a good position. He added that the gelding jumped away better today than it had at its recent starts and shortly after the start he made an assessment that there was very little pace in the race, and for that reason he used his initiative and allowed the gelding to stride forward and obtain the lead. Co-trainer, Mr W. Clarken, confirmed the instructions provided were the same as at ICHIBANSAN’s most recent starts. CHOSEN MISS (R. Milnes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.
