RUN AND TELL (B. Price) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Gawler on Thursday, 25 April 2024 and was found to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5) and therefore deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared RUN AND TELL a late scratching at 12.58pm. TEMBU BOY (E. Finnegan) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well for the majority of the race; however, when placed under pressure prior to entering the home straight failed to respond to her riding. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 4 May 2024 and to conclude midnight Wednesday, 8 May 2024, a period of two meetings. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by E. Finnegan and noted that she did not use her whip over the final 100m of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. CHOSEN MISS (S. Metcalfe) – began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered THE ICE CUTTER. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. THE ICE CUTTER (C. Tootell) – hampered at the start by CHOSEN MISS, which shifted out. RED SEQUOIA (T. Voorham) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Gawler on Thursday, 25 April 2024 and was deemed suitable to start. WARRANDYTE ROAD (A. Jordsjo) – eased approaching the winning post when momentarily placed in restricted room to the inside of WEST CLIFF. |

LOTZA BUBBLES (R. Milnes) – inconvenienced in the straight from the 150m by AGRESSIVE BEE, which shifted out, and near the 100m was steadied to avoid the heels of AGRESSIVE BEE. AGRESSIVE BEE (H. Yuen) – shifted out under pressure in the straight and near the 100m inconvenienced LOTZA BUBBLES, which had to be steadied. Rider was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. SELLIX (J. Maund) – had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the concluding 50m and as a result was not tested to the line. Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow R. Milnes (LOTZA BUBBLES), placed second, and Mr T. Stokes, representing trainer, Mr P. Stokes, to view the vision in the straight. After doing so R. Milnes lodged an objections against AGRESSIVE BEE (H. Yuen) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference in the straight.
