ZE BIRDS'N'ZEBEES (B. King) – hung in under pressure in the straight.

KIKORANGI (J. Toeroek) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider could offer no explanation in relation to the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

JURA VAUDOIS (A. Lai) – raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

ANGEL TORQUE (B. Price) – from the entrance to the straight until near the 200m raced in restricted room to the inside ZE BIRDS'N'ZEBEES, which was hanging in. Inside the 200m shifted out in attempt to gain clear running and near the 100m when attempting to improve between DAISYDOO, which was hanging in and ZE BIRDS'N'ZEBEES, which rolled out, was disappointed for that run and as a result was not fully tested to the finish.  

DAISYDOO (K. Crowther) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted in. Raced greenly throughout the event. Hung in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult for its rider to ride out in her normal manner.

Correct weight was delayed to allow B. Price (ANGEL TORQUE), fifth placegetter and the Co-trainer of that filly Ms O. MacGillivray to view the vision in the straight.

CRIMINAL ART (A. Jordsjo) – near the 1000m rolled out onto ELEANOR QUEEN, which was inconvenienced.

DARK HELMET (NZ) (T. Pannell) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

ELEANOR QUEEN (A. Lai) – near the 1000m was inconvenienced when tightened between HOLDER MAID, which rolled in and CRIMINAL ART, which rolled out. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

FLAMING EYES (K. Crowther) – over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GOOD GRECIAS (J. Opperman) - late scratching at 8.00am; acting on advice from Trainer, Mr M. Seyers that the filly had an elevated temperature and would be unfit to race. Mr M. Seyers was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

HOLDER MAID (R. Milnes) – near 1000m rolled in onto ELEANOR QUEEN, which was inconvenienced.

ICANHEARZOU (B. King) - slow to begin and jumped away awkwardly.

DERVISH (R. Milnes) – slow into stride.

LITTLE CHICAGO (T. Pannell) - jumped away awkwardly.

TWO PERCENT ICE (S. Fawke) – on jumping away bumped with TAKING OMAHA, which shifted out. Near the 150m was awkwardly placed on the heels of WARM BREEZE (NZ), which was laying in and was obliged to shift out.

WARM BREEZE (NZ) (M. Nunes) – hung in under pressure in the straight. Near the 150m rolled in onto TWO PERCENT ICE, which was obliged to alter course to its outside.

ARLO'S DREAM (A. Lai) – hung out from near the 900m for the remainder of the event and proved difficult for its rider to ride. Stable representative, Mr H. Ingram was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GINGER SINNER (J. Toeroek) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider could offer no explanation in relation to the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TAKING OMAHA (L. Neindorf) – on jumping away shifted out and bumped TWO PERCENT ICE.

TERRITORIAN (K. Crowther) – held up for clear running for a short distance near the 300m when racing inside TWO PERCENT ICE.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute.

BYWATERS ROAD (B. King) – approaching the 800 rolled out and brushed the hind quarters of SAZERAC. Shortly after bumped with that mare and as a result became awkwardly placed on the heels of TIME WARRIOR and was obliged to be steadied. Approaching the finish raced in restricted room between SPEAKEASY and ARCHDEACON.

PRICKLY POPPY (NZ) (J. Opperman) – shortly after the entrance to the straight raced in restricted room between TIME WARRIOR and FLAMBARD and behind SPEAKEASY.

SAZERAC (Z. Lloyd) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Approaching the 800m brushed the hind quarters of BYWATERS ROAD and shortly after bumped that gelding, became very awkward in its action and lost ground.

SPEAKEASY (M. Nunes) – shortly after the entrance to the straight shifted out and inconvenienced TIME WARRIOR.

TIME WARRIOR (M. Collett) – required to be re-saddled on arrival at the barriers. Shortly after the entrance to the straight was inconvenienced as SPEAKEASY shifted out.

SERENE MOON (M. Nunes) – on jumping away bumped with WEE DRAM, which shifted out. Rider reported that the mare travelled well during the event, however, was disappointing. He added SERENE MOON may not appreciate racing amongst other horses.

TALL LETTER (T. Pannell) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

BULL SLUICE (S. Payne) – over raced in the early stages. Held up for a short distance approaching the 100m.

SIR REGINALD (J. Opperman) – rider explained in relation to the gelding’s performance that it travelled well during the event; however, did not let down as he had anticipated and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore and off hind leg (2/5). Co-trainers Mrs N. Searle and Mrs B. Callanan were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

HEY MIKKI (B. Price) – held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until near the 200m initially when racing to the inside of TEQUILA SUNSET and shifted out approaching the 200m in an attempt to gain clear running and then became held up between that mare and IMMORTAL SPIRIT and only obtained clear racing room passing the 200m.

TEQUILA SUNSET (A. Lai) – rider explained in relation to the mare’s performance that it travelled well during the event; however, did not let down as he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

WEE DRAM (L. Neindorf) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SERENE MOON. Rider reported that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action when placed under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SWIFT TERCEL (A. Livesey) – shortly after the start was restrained and shifted in, in an attempt to gain cover.

CHEF MILITAIRE (S. Payne) – shortly after the start was restrained and shifted in to obtain cover.

SAN LUCIDO (A. Lai) – near the 1200m shifted in taking BONJOUR (NZ) in onto JIVE BABY, which was obliged to be momentarily steadied. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to exercise more care when shifting ground. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $200. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by A. Lai and noted that he used it once over the final 100m of the event.

BONJOUR (NZ) (R. Milnes) – near the 1200m was taken in by SAN LUCIDO, which shifted in, onto JIVE BABY, which was obliged to be momentarily steadied.

MOUNT MUMUKAI (S. Fawke) – rider reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TALES OF CONFLICT (J. Doyle) - a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Ms S. Logan was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

JIVE BABY (J. Toeroek) – near the 1200m was obliged to be momentarily steadied when BONJOUR (NZ) was taken in by SAN LUCIDO, which shifted in. Rider reported that the mare hung out throughout the event.

PRANCING COUNTESS (M. Nunes) - began well. Stewards questioned the rider in relation to his riding of the mare, in particular in the early stages and the options available to him after he commenced well, rider explained that his instructions were to obtain cover and make a run away from the rail as the mare was ridden in a similar manner last start at Gawler when it won that event. He stated that after beginning well, he elected to comply with the instructions and obtain cover. He added that the mare finished the event off strong, and he was satisfied with its performance.

LADY TUCAN (B. King) - rider was reprimanded under AR131(b) and advised, in future, to rides her mounts out fully to the finish.

ALPHA FLIGHT (J. Doyle) – rider explained that the gelding was obliged to work hard in the early stages and, in her opinion, this may have been detrimental to its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PRINCE REICHWEITE (T. Pannell) - jumped away awkwardly and shortly after lost its position when tightened onto HEIDI HEIDI HO and was taken out by HARLEEN.

HARLEEN (A. Livesey) – shortly after the start shifted out onto PRINCE REICHWEITE.

MADAM FURPHY (S. Payne) – inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(b) and advised to ensure he rides his mounts out fully to the finish.

MISS THATCHER (K. Crowther) – near the 100m was obliged to alter course to the inside of ALPHA FLIGHT to obtain clear running.

HEIDI HEIDI HO (B. Price) – hung in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult for its rider to ride out.

CATALINA BLUE (M. Collett) – rider reported that the mare dipped on a number of occasions and may not have been suited to the track conditions.

ZOUTONS (F. Atkinson) – at the entrance to the straight dipped. Lost its near hind plate during the event.
