AM I LACY (NZ) (R. Milnes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 1000m, when being restrained, got its head up. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

AMBITIOUS CREEK (S. Fawke) – inside the 800m was awkwardly placed on the heels of AM I LACY (NZ) and shifted out onto DJOUNIE. Hung in under pressure in the straight.

BEAU VALLEY (M. Wolanin) – dislodged its rider en route to the barriers, galloped free for some distance and made heavy contact with a perimeter fence. Acting on Veterinary advice Stewards declared BEAU VALLEY a late scratching at 12.36pm. Trainer, Mr D. Carrison, was advised that the mare would now be required to complete either an Official Barrier Trial or Approval to Race Jump-out to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to a future race start. Rider was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.

MATEO (J. Eaton) – shortly after the start bumped with I AIN’T CHICKEN and shifted out. Hung out rounding the home turn.

ALMARHOE (P. Brewster) – required to have its tongue-tie adjusted on arrival at the barriers. Slow into stride. Approaching the 700m was awkwardly placed on the heels of ISUSPECTJEU (NZ).

DJOUNIE (A. Lai) – shortly after the start lost its position when tightened onto ISUSPECTJEU (NZ) by MATEO, which shifted out. Inside the 800m was obliged to be steadied when AMBITIOIUS CREEK, which was over-racing and awkward on heels, shifted out.

ISUSPECTJEU (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

MIDNIGHT RULER (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

DEE MAC (R. Milnes) – raced greenly throughout the event.

STAR VALOUR (M. Collett) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

EL EXPLOSIVO (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MA BELLE GRISE. Approaching the 400m attempted to shift out abruptly on a number of occasions, and passing the 400m was obliged to be steadied when awkwardly placed to the inside of EIGHTY NINE BELOW, and was inclined to lay out. As a result EL EXPLOSIVO was obliged to be checked, shifted out, lost ground and dipped. In assessing the incident, Stewards were of the opinion no one rider was at fault. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

HARD LEAF (M. Wolanin) – raced wide and without cover in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ALABAMA AWARD (F. Atkinson) – near the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced by WYES TRIER, which was taken in. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BELFAST CHILD (T. Voorham) – slow to begin. Near the 300m was awkwardly placed on the heels of JETT ROCKIN’, which was weakening, and shifted in onto WYES TRIER, which was obliged to be steadied when tightened onto ALABAMA AWARD.

JETT ROCKIN' (D. Caboche) – weakened from near the 500m.

MA BELLE GRISE (B. Price) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to start. On jumping away bumped with EL EXPLOSIVO.

WYES TRIER (J. Doyle) – slow to begin. Near the 300m was obliged to be steadied when tightened onto ALABAMA AWARD as BELFAST CHILD shifted in to avoid JETT ROCKIN’, which was weakening.

TIME WARRIOR (A. Livesey) – on jumping away bumped with TOYETIC.
