The photo finish was not in operation during the running of Races 1 and 2 and acting under AR214, Stewards deemed that the placings were to be determined by the judge for both events.

NO NAME NIGEL (NZ) (P. Brewster) - slow to begin. Rider reported that she became concerned with the gelding’s action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

THINKINGNINTYNINE (T. Voorham) – laid out rounding the turn in the vicinity of the 1400m and tightened the running of STECARA.

ALITTLEBITAPOLLY (D. Tourneur) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground between he 400m and 300m.

GLACIES HEART (T. Hutchinson) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground inside the 200m for a number of strides. Again, approaching the finish had difficulty obtaining clear ground and had to shift out.

LE NEZ CROCHU (C. Tootell) – laid in rounding the turn in the vicinity of the 1400m and tightened the running of STECARA.

STECARA (K. Crowther) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. In the vicinity of the 1400m lost its position when tightened between THINKINGNINTYNINE and LE NEZ CROCHU.

SULTRINESS (NZ) (D. Caboche) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted out.

HASTA LA TRUCE (K. Walters) - laid in, in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FALL OF ROME (K. Crowther) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

MCLEOD (S. Logan) – hampered on jumping away by SUPERNATURE, which shifted out. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Inside the 400m was obliged to be eased to avoid the heels of RECIPROCAL, which shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

PETITE PUISSANCE (A. Jordsjo) – at the entrance to the straight was inconvenienced by RECIPROCAL, which shifted out.

RECIPROCAL (S. Payne) - slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Inside the 400m shifted out across the running of MCLEOD, which had to be eased. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to only shift ground when entitled to do so. At the entrance to the straight shifted out and contacted PETITE PUISSANCE. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

SUPERNATURE (J. Potter) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MCLEOD.

OOH LA LILLY (C. Jones) – rider reported that the mare made an unusual respiratory noise after entering the straight and for that reason she did not ride her mount out in her usual manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DOUBLE YOU OWE (NZ) (S. Payne) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

ZAIN PRINCE (T. Hutchinson) – rider reported that she became concerned with the gelding’s action after entering the straight and for that reason did not ride her mount out in her normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding exhibited signs of the thumps.

FOREVER WAITING (K. Crowther) – slow to begin. Hung in, in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding exhibited signs of the thumps.

BRIDIE JEAN (A. Livesey) – got its off foreleg up in its barrier after being loaded. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice BRIDIE JEAN was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 2.40pm. Trainer, Mr sD. Dodson was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its barrier manners and that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

BASE OF FIRE (P. Brewster) - jumped away awkwardly.

EMMOOKI MAGIC (S. Fawke) – rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, when placed under pressure from the entrance to the straight, failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SPENCER GULF (D. Tourneur) - slow into stride.

WILLASTON (A. Livesey) - jumped away awkwardly. Rider explained that after jumping away awkwardly she was obliged to settle at the rear of the field and ride for luck to make one run at the field in the straight. She added that she was conscious of the 60kg weight and did not want to use the gelding in the early stages to press forward from the wide gate and risk being caught wide without cover for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SUN SAMURAI (D. Tourneur) – shortly after the start was taken in and tightened LADY ANNABEL (NZ) by NOT A SINGLE BID.

PRELIMINAIRES (T. Voorham) – shifted out on jumping away and took HUGUENOT out.

HUGUENOT (S. Pang) – shortly after the start was taken wider by PRELIMINAIRES and tightened ARACHNATTACK.

NOT A SINGLE BID (B. King) – shortly after the start shifted in and tightened SUN SAMURAI.

ARACHNATTACK (S. Logan) – lost its position shortly after the start when tightened between LADY ANNABEL (NZ), which was taken in and HUGUENOT, which was taken out.

LADY ANNABEL (NZ) (K. Walters) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. Lost its position shortly after the start when tightened between SUN SAMURAI, which was taken in and ARACHNATTACK, which was taken out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MYLITLESTARTHATCAN (J. Doyle) – hung in, in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ARDANZA (Z. Lloyd) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SANCTIMONIOUS (S. Pang) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and tightened CHILKO LAKE.

CHILKO LAKE (C. Tootell) – tightened and lost its position on jumping away between SANCTIMONIOUS and OUR ELLIE ROSE (NZ) when both runners shifted ground.

OUR ELLIE ROSE (NZ) (K. Walters) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and tightened CHILKO LAKE. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.
