A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr H. Montgomerie, advised that it was his intention to spell the gelding.

HEDGED YOUR BETS (J. Toeroek) – raced keenly in the early stages.

ROYAL TRAPEZE (S. Fawke) – jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 100m bumped ENUFF SEDUCTION when laying in.

STAR VALOUR (D. Tourneur) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

ENUFF SEDUCTION (J. Potter) – approaching the 100m had to be steadied when bumped by ROYAL TRAPEZE, which laid in.

STRASBEAU (T. Johnstone) – rider explained that the gelding settled further back than intended, and when placed under pressure in the straight did not respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

All horses were required to be removed from the barriers and returned to the mounting yard due to BALISTIQUE being fractious and its rider being injured. As a result all races were put back by one race and Race 7 was rescheduled to 4.38pm.

ALL DINKUM (S. Fawke) – bumped at the start by SWISS WISH. Inside the 400m dipped and became unbalanced. Rider explained that the mare travelled well in the event; however, when placed under pressure in the straight the mare did not respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LUNESSA (C. Jones) – jumped away awkwardly.

OPPORTUNE CHANCE (B. King) – laid out in the straight.

TOOWANDA (S. Mitchell) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

BALISTIQUE (T. Hutchinson) – fractious in its barrier after being loaded in its barrier stall and became cast. Removed from its barrier stall and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared BALISTIQUE a late scratching at 1.26pm. Co-trainers, Mr D. Clarken and Ms O. MacGillivray, were advised that a warning had been placed on the filly. Rider was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and deemed unfit to fulfil her riding engagements and then transported to hospital for further assessment.

SWISS WISH (C. Murray) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ALL DINKUM.

DARK'N'STORMY (S. Payne) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Rider explained that the mare travelled well in the event; however, was disappointing in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SWITCH HIT (F. Atkinson) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, she settled further back than intended, which was detrimental to the gelding’s chances in the event.

UNISPHERE (D. Tourneur) – prior to the home turn was steadied when racing tightly between SAM’S REWARD and NOT TO BE TRUSTED, which shifted out when hanging out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

AMBER NOOK (J. Potter) – prior to the home turn shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of UNISPHERE, which had been steadied when tightened for room.

HOLYDAMUS (C. Munro) – raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages of the event. Prior to the home turn was checked to avoid the heels of AMBER NOOK, which shifted out abruptly when awkwardly placed near the heels of UNISPHERE.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED (S. Payne) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Hung out prior to the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

THE GOV (T. Pannell) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto GRAND HOST. Rider explained that the mare travelled well in the event; however, when placed under pressure in the straight did not let down as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GRAND HOST (J. Opperman) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

SIOUX WARRIOR (C. Murray) – near the 50m shifted in slightly onto KOVA. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(a) when shifting ground.

ZUFASTA (I. Lam) – near the 50m shifted out onto KOVA, which was obliged to be steadied and lost its position. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

KOVA (J. Potter) – near the 50m was obliged to be steadied and lost its position when ZUFASTA shifted out and SIOUX WARRIOR shifted in slightly.

ALLEGEDLY (FR) (B. King) – raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages of the event.

BONJOUR DE GAULLE (C. Murray) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, when placed under pressure near the 300m he had become concerned with the gelding’s action, and for this reason he did not ride BONJOUR DE GAULLE in his normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Mr B. Davis, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

PINCHBECK (C. Munro) – held up at the entrance to the straight for a short distance.

ARCHDEACON (P. Brewster) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Slow into stride. Near the 500m was taken wider by ALASKAN STORM. Approaching the 200m was obliged to alter course to improve. Rider dropped her whip near the 100m.

GENERAL MINT (R. Milnes) – near the 150m shifted out slightly onto CRIMSON FACTOR, which was obliged to be steadied and lost its position. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

CRIMSON FACTOR (A. Jordsjo) – near the 150m was obliged to be steadied when GENERAL MINT shifted out slightly.

VELVET STAR (S. Logan) – rider explained that the mare did not respond to her riding when put under pressure near the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MONTEPULCIANO (C. Rawiller) – near the 1400m, when over-racing, was checked when awkwardly placed near the heels of SET TO PROPHET. Held up near the 200m for a short distance.

MORTY (J. Potter) – rider explained that the gelding travelled only fairly in the event, was off the bridle from the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ON THE SCENT (F. Atkinson) – held up at the entrance to the straight for a short distance.

FOX GEM (C. Murray) – passing the 1400m was checked to avoid the heels of MONTEPULCIANO, which was over-racing and had been checked to avoid the heels of another runner.

SET TO PROPHET (J. Eaton) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start.
