The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes. ABIT RATTLEY (M. Chadwick) – jumped away awkwardly. CAPTAIN JOOLIAN (K. Crowther) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. LIFT THE BAR (D. Tourneur) – slow into stride. Difficulty obtaining clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 300m. Stewards questioned D. Tourneur in relation to his riding of the gelding, in particular from near the 300m until approaching the 200m where he had elected to come to the outside of VALENTINA CHARM when a run was available to the inside of that mare. He explained that in his opinion the track was racing better out wider, and in an attempt to make ground he elected to shift to the outside of that horse to allow the mare to finish the event off. He added that LIFT THE BAR only finished the event off moderately and will derive benefit from the first up run. VALENTINA CHARM (C. Munro) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped DIVINE FIRE. Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 300m. Rider explained that the mare was not suited to the tempo of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. DIVINE FIRE (S. Fawke) – on jumping away bumped with VALENTINA CHARM. ALOHA BLUE (T. Voorham) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. DAWNBURST (S. Payne) – near the 1000m raced in restricted room between DIVINE FIRE and ABIT RATTLEY, was restrained and lost ground. |

MR TRAFFICANTI (NZ) (J. Holder) – difficulty obtaining clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 300m. BLIXTEN (A. Jordsjo) – rider reported that the gelding travelled fairly during the event; however, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg (4/5). Trainer, Mr G. Lynch, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start. Stewards will follow up with Mr Lynch. BLUE SPECIAL (J. Toeroek) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Morphettville on Saturday, 14 September 2024 and was deemed suitable to start. Rider explained that the gelding travelled okay during the event; however, did not let down as he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. LOMAX (S. Payne) – shortly after the start shifted in to obtain cover. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by S. Payne and noted that he used it on ten occasions over the final 100m of the event. RABTAT (T. Pannell) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. CHARM SLINGA (NZ) (R. Milnes) – slow to begin. OBI (T.
