MERCURY EIGHT (J. Toeroek) – rider reported that the gelding hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding exhibited signs of the thumps. First aid administered.

CHARMING DEXTER (C. Murray) – hampered at the start when tightened for room between KAHALA BAY, which shifted out slightly and HOLLYWOOD HIGH, which shifted in slightly.

HALLIWELL (NZ) (M. Nunes) – raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

KISS KISS KISS (R. Milnes) – laid in under pressure in the straight.  

PAPPIANA (T. Pannell) – acting on a report from the Starter that the mare was fractious in its barrier prior to the gates opening, Co-Trainers, Mr W. Clarken and Mr N. O’Shea were advised that a warning had been placed on PAPPIANA in relation to its barrier manners. Began awkwardly. Near the 800m raced tightly between CHARMING DEXTER, which shifted out slightly and KNIGHT DANCER, which shifted in slightly after being taken in by SNOOPY NOW. Near the 200m when improving, was steadied to avoid the heels of KISS KISS KISS, which had commenced to give ground. Rider reported that after being caught wide from its wide barrier, in the early stages he elected to ease the mare and gain cover in the field and as a result settled further back than intended. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SNOOPY NOW (S. Fawke) – raced wide throughout. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that, in his opinion, the gelding was not suited to the drop back in distance from 1400m at its previous start to 1100m today and would be better suited in races of longer distances than today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CAWDOR (GB) (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding began awkwardly and laid out in the straight.

MARACOURT (M. Nunes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

BONNIE GANGSTER (S. Metcalfe) - began awkwardly. Held up for a short distance near the 400m.

EXOPIPI (A. Jordsjo) – raced wide without cover throughout.

ALLUSION (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the gelding laid out in the straight.

LAKE'S FOLLY (R. Milnes) – near the 500m was held up for a short distance and raced tightly to the inside of SMILING ASSASSIN.

DIXIE WHISTLER (A. Livesey) – near the 50m was steadied when racing tightly to the inside of FOX GEM, which had obtained a neat run and was improving. Rider reported that the mare had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance at the entrance to the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PERLE BLEUE (FR) (B. Price) – near the 300m was steadied when racing tightly between FOX GEM and SMILING ASSASSIN, which shifted in. Rider reported that the mare was disappointing when placed under pressure and did not respond to his riding as anticipated. He added that the mare had pulled up in a normal manner.

SMILING ASSASSIN (S. Fawke) – near the 300m shifted in when not fully clear of PERLE BLEUE (FR) resulting in that mare having to be steadied off the heels of SMILING ASSASSIN. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised that, in similar circumstances, he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts much soon than he did on this occasion.

BADISS (K. Crowther) – near the 100m when giving ground quickly, raced tightly to the inside of CALL ME VEXATIOUS for short distance. Rider could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FOX GEM (M. Nunes) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

EXALTED FIRE (R. Hammond) – began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

RIVERPLATE (NZ) (T. Pannell) – began awkwardly. Laid out over the concluding stages.

AITCH D'AMICO (A. Livesey) – over raced in the early and middle stages and had a tendency to lay in, in the straight. Over the concluding stages was hampered by RIVERPLATE (NZ), which laid out under pressure.

QUITE THE LASS (K. Crowther) – began awkwardly.

FLYWAY (M. Nunes) – raced wide without cover throughout.

VINO DECASA NOSTRA (NZ) (S. Logan) – rider reported that the gelding over raced badly in the early and middle stages and, in her opinion, this was detrimental to VINO DECASA NOSTRA (NZ) finishing off the event today.

PRICILLA'S CHOICE (H. Yuen) - began awkwardly.

SCRIPTA (A. McCabe) – began awkwardly. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that the mare over raced quite badly in the early and middle stages and, in his opinion, this was detrimental to SCRIPTA finishing off the event today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ALAINGE (M. Collett) – held up for clear running from near the 300m to near the 200m.

ANGELIC APPEAL (C. Murray) – laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

DAWNBURST (S. Payne) – held up from the entrance to the straight until near the 300m.

FALANGHINA (K. Crowther) – rider reported that the mare hung in under pressure for the majority of the straight.

MAGIC CHLOE (A. Livesey) – disappointed for a run at the entrance to the straight when there was insufficient room to improve. Held up for clear running from near the 400m until near the 200m.

MORE SUGAR (T. Johnstone) – began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the mare travelled well until placed under pressure on straightening and from this point onwards was disappointing and did not respond to her riding as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

STRATUM PRIDE (C. Jones) – momentarily inconvenienced inside the 100m when racing to the inside of ANGELIC APPEAL, which shifted in under pressure.

WEE DRAM (S. Fawke) - began awkwardly.

RIVER (R. Hammond) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Correct weight was delayed to allow A. Livesey (MAGIC CHLOE), placed third, to view the vision in the straight.

The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

TAPINFORPAR (J. Doyle) – held up for a short distance from near the 300m and then shifted out to obtain clear running. Laid in for the remainder of the event. Rider reported that, in her opinion, the gelding would derive benefit from its first up effort today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

POWER MISSILE (F. Kersley) - began awkwardly. Held up from near the 300m until approaching the winning post and as a result was not fully tested to the line. Near the 300m was bumped by TAPINFORPAR, which shifted in before being straightened by its rider.

SIXTEEN REASONS (T. Pannell) – began extremely awkwardly and as a result lost considerable ground (four lengths).

T. Pannell was examined by First Care Medical personnel post-race and was deemed unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements.

MAGNETIC EDGE (S. Payne) – shortly after the start was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of NEODIUM after being brushed and taken in by AIGUILETTE. Held up for clear running from near the 400m until inside the 300m.

CULLEN SKINK (B. Price) – disappointed for a run at the top of the straight when there was insufficient room to improve between NEODIUM and HEADPHONES and was then held up from this point until the winning post was unable to obtain clear running at any point in the straight and was not fully tested to the line.

AIGUILETTE (C. Murray) – held up for clear running from near the 500m until near the 300m.

EXALTED DAME (T. Johnstone) – began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Held up from the entrance to the straight until the winning post, was unable to obtain clear running at any point in the straight and was not fully tested to the line.

ANNIHILATE (T. Voorham) - began awkwardly. Hung in under pressure in the straight.

HEADPHONES (A. Livesey) – raced wide without cover throughout.
