Rider reported that the gelding did not quicken when placed under pressure, as he had anticipated and, in his opinion, was slightly disappointing. He added that PRODIGAL LAD may be suited in races of longer distances than today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Rocktagon (C. Munro) - slow to begin.

Holydamus (J. Holder) - slow to begin.

Star Gladiator (S. Logan) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

Petroula (B. Price) – shortly after the start commenced to buck for a considerable distance before being eased of the event by its rider near the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr H. Dwyer, was advised the filly must perform to the Stewards’ satisfaction in an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race.

My Rich Boy (S. Logan) – laid out rounding the home turn.

Radiant Knight (J. Eaton) - lost its off hind plate during the event.

Kiss Kiss Kiss (T. Hutchinson) – hampered shortly after the start when bumped heavily by STEEL TSUNAMI, which had begun awkwardly, knuckled and then shifted out. Rider reported that she felt that there may be something amiss with the mare’s action behind. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Steel Tsunami (K. Crowther) – began extremely awkwardly and then shortly after the start knuckled, shifted out and made heavy contact with KISS KISS KISS. Rider reported that the gelding, which was having its first start today, raced greenly for the majority of the event; however, when placed under pressure in the straight, responded to her riding and she was satisfied with STEEL TSUNAMI’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

The Plastics (B. King) - slow to begin.

Bush Influence (B. Price) - slow to begin. Held up and unable to improve from near the 300m until the winning post and finished the event off not fully tested.

Gilded Age (D. Tourneur) – performed below market expectations. Rider reported that the gelding raced ungenerously and greenly when placed under pressure in the straight and, in his opinion, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Mandino (T. Johnstone) – laid in under pressure in the early part of the straight.

Normie No Show (T. Hutchinson) – rider reported that the gelding raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Rhinestone Rory (S. Payne) - slow to begin.

Foxy Eagle (R. Milnes) – held up for clear running from near the 200m until near the 100m when the mare shifted to the outside of GILDED AGE to obtain a clear run. Rider reported that the mare was slow to muster early speed and as a result settled back in the field. She added that the mare laid in under pressure in the straight.

Hasta La Peace (C. Jones) – near the 200m raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of ALWAYS BOLD, which when giving ground, shifted in slightly.

Iva Dream (I. Lam) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Majestic Moshe (S. Logan) – near the 200m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of GLACIES HEART, which had shifted in under pressure.

New World Tapestry (USA) (A. Livesey) – near the 500m was steadied when racing in restricted room between VALAROC, which when weakening shifted out slightly onto LIMITED RISK, which when improving shifted in marginally.

Stormsarrived (J. Opperman) – raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to sit outside the leader near the 1800m. Gave ground quickly in the straight. Rider reported that the mare over raced in the early stages; however, did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. The stable will be contacted in the coming days to see if any issue has arisen post-race that may have affected the mare’s performance today.

Staying Strong (J. Eaton) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Sasun (R. Milnes) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Scamster (D. Tourneur) – passing the 500m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of STORMSARRIVED, which had commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (3/5). Trainer, Mr C. Reardon was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

Road to Blue Sky (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Warrandyte Road (T. Voorham) - Change of tactics - attempt to take up a forward position in the event if possible. Settled outside the leader in the early stages before gaining cover passing the winning post on the first occasion. Near the 1100m was permitted to stride forward by its rider to obtain the lead shortly after.

Camberwood (A. Lindsay) – rider reported that the gelding hung out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes owing to AZTEC DANCER having to be re-shod.

Kaido (M. Wolanin) – hung in under pressure in the straight.

Limited Risk (J. Opperman) – raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Suggestive Miss (B. Price) – rider reported that the mare was tightened for room on jumping away between BABAYKA and VALENTINA CHARM, when both runners shifted ground.

Aztec Dancer (T. Voorham) – had to be re-shod on arrival at the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race.

Valentina Charm (J. Toeroek) – began very awkwardly, shifted out and as a result lost ground. Performed below market expectations. Rider could offer no explanation for the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Harbouring (T. Hutchinson) - began awkwardly.

Abit Rattley (S. Payne) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

Easy Beast (NZ) (B. King) – rider reported that, in her opinion, the gelding was not suited to the solid early pace of today’s event.

Toyetic (T. Johnstone) - began awkwardly.

Zuri Miss (J. Opperman) – fractious in its barrier before the start was affected. Trainer, Mr H. Dwyer, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare. Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Rider reported that when placed under pressure, the mare did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, was disappointing.

Dare To Be Free (A. Lai) – rider reported that when placed under pressure the mare did not respond to his riding as anticipated.

Eventually (C. Jones) – laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
