Neindorf confident of quick recovery

Leading rider Lachlan Neindorf is confident he’ll be back in the saddle next Saturday after injuring his arm in a race fall at Murray Bridge on Wednesday.

Neindorf was riding the Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained debutante Strasbeau who began buck jumping shortly after the start before dislodging the rider.

“I’m OK, no broken bones,’’ Neindorf said.

“I’ll be back next week,’’ he said.

Currently sitting fifth on the Metropolitan Jockey’s Premiership, Neindorf has enjoyed a brilliant start to 2024 striking at more than 20 per cent runners to winners which includes nine wins (and 10 placings) from 35 rides in March.

He’s already undergone cryotherapy in a bid to ensure he’s back riding as the Adelaide Racing Carnival hits top gear in the coming weeks.

The focus of being back to partner impressive last-start Listed Matrice Stakes winner Climbing Star in next week’s Irwin Stakes who he’ll follow into the Group 1 Sangster Stakes at Morphettville on April 27.

He’s been forced to give up a nice book of rides at Morphettville this weekend including All Woke in the $120,000 Listed Dequetteville Stakes, who was an impressive winner on debut, and A Samurai Mind.
