As a tribute to South Australian racing icon Bushy Trenowden, Racing SA are recognising his invaluable contribution to the industry by naming an Eyre Peninsula apprentice race series in his honour, the Bushy Trenowden Eyre Peninsula Apprentice Race Series.
Aside from being a celebrated trainer with more than 400 winners, he was an advocate of apprentice jockeys and always strived to provide the young and up and coming jockeys with race riding opportunities. Bushy was responsible for putting Dwayne Dunn in the saddle for his debut race ride.
