Simone Montgomerie/Caitlin Forrest Series

Established in 2015, the Apprentice only series honours Simone Montgomerie and Caitlin Forrest who tragically passed away in race falls in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Both girls had a connection to Strathalbyn Racecourse so it was only fitting the series be held at the much loved track.

Point Score

Each Apprentice competing in the series will be allocated one point per ride. Apprentices declared on scratchings will also be allocated one point per ride.

Additional points will be allocated for each heat as follows;

First - 10 Points

Second - 5 Points

Third - 3 Points

Points for dead heats will be divided.

The apprentice accruing the highest number of points will be declared the Series Winner. Should two or more apprentices finish the series with equal points, a countback will take place with the apprentice scoring the most wins in the series being declared the winner, failing that the apprentice with the most seconds etc. Apprentices can claim their appropriate allowances in each race.
