Mesrour (L. Neindorf) - hampered on jumping away when bumped by UKI RAIN, which had been taken in by SPOTLIGHTS. Lost its near hind plate during the event.

Spotlights (T. Pannell) - began awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and made heavy contact with UKI RAIN. Lost its near fore plate during the event.

Uki Rain (J. Potter) – hampered on jumping away when bumped heavily by SPOTLIGHTS, which shifted in abruptly and made heavy contact with UKI RAIN. Raced greenly in the early stages. Passing the 600m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of SPOTLIGHTS. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Sir Aali (M. Collett) – slow to begin. Rider reported that SIR AALI raced greenly throughout and near the 500m when she restrained her mount to avoid the heels of UKI RAIN the gelding then shifted out abruptly across the heels of MESROUR of its own accord. Trainer, Mr P. Huserot was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Free Beer (M. Collett) – laid out rounding the home turn.

Sentimental Flame (J. Holder) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that when placed under pressure the filly did not respond to his riding as he had anticipated, finished the race off in a dower manner and in his opinion may derive benefit from today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Angelic Appeal (C. Murray) - rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres and was reprimanded.

Lingani (D. Tourneur) – laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the filly over raced in the early and middle stages.

Dual Fuel (NZ) (M. Collett) – slow to begin. Approaching the 600m when improving was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of WOLF PRINCE.

Wheels (NZ) (J. Holder) – rider reported that the gelding felt short in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Oath Of Omerta (J. Eaton) – rider reported that the gelding travelled in the race quite strongly; however, when placed under pressure did not respond to her riding as anticipated and was disappointing. She added that OATH OF OMERTA pulled up in a normal manner.

Frankenstar (B. Price) – near the 50m became unbalanced when bumped by WOLF PRINCE, which shifted out under pressure.

sWolf Prince (D. Tourneur) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it raced at Gawler on Wednesday, 28 February 2024 and was deemed suitable to race. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Near the 50m when laying out, shifted out and made contact with FRANKENSTAR. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(a) and advised that he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.

Sesar (A. Livesey) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Made the crossing the near the 1700m awkwardly.

El Salto (S. Payne) – slow to begin. Rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner today and may have been feeling the effects of recent racing.

Howl (J. Holder) – slow to begin. Had difficulty in obtaining clear ground from near the 80m and was not fully tested to the finish.

Bristler (L. Neindorf) – approaching the finish was inconvenienced by RUN LIKE HELL, which shifted in and was not ridden to the line. Rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner today and may have been feeling the effects of recent racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Qeyaady (R. Milnes) – held up for clear running from near the 400m until the 200m.

Run Like Hell (J. Toeroek) - approaching the finished shifted in and inconvenienced BRISTLER. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion. Lost its off fore plate during the event.

Following the running of Race 4, one of the ambulances caught on fire on the track and emergency services were called to assist.

The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes owing to the arrival of emergency services to assist with a fire in one of the ambulances.

Make It A Double (E. Finnegan) – rider was reminded of her obligations under AR131(b) to ride all her mounts out to the end of the race.

Speakeasy (M. Collett) – approaching the 200m laid in under pressure before being straightened by its rider.

Group Think (R. Milnes) – passing the 300m for a short distance was held up when unable to improve.

Charm Slinga (NZ) (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Rider reported that when placed under pressure the gelding only responded fairly to her riding and laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (1/5). Trainer, Mr J. Hyam was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

Wonderful Rayray (M. Collett) – dropped her whip near the 200m. Rider reported that the gelding hung out throughout and she believed that as this was the first time WONDERFUL RAYRAY raced in an anti-clockwise direction it would derive benefit from today’s race experience. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Yeelanna (J. Opperman) – slow to begin.

Misludi (K. Crowther) – over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 1000m was bumped by NOT A SINGLE BID, which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Laid out from near the 1000m until near the 500m.

Not A Single Bid (A. Livesey) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it last raced at Gawler on Wednesday, 28 February 2024 and was deemed suitable to race. raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1000m shifted in and made contact with MISLUDI. After passing the 1000m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of MISLUDI when that mare, when over racing, shifted out slightly.

Dawn Issue (B. Price) – began awkwardly and lost ground.

In My Room (J. Toeroek) – began awkwardly and was bumped by ZANTHRON, which began awkwardly and shifted out and as a result lost ground.

Zanthron (J. Holder) – began awkwardly, shifted out and contacted IN MY ROOM and as a result lost ground.

Runaway Belle (L. Neindorf) – held up clear running from near the 500m until passing the 400m.

Mintulee (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the filly laid out under pressure over the final 100m.

My Khalifa (M. Collett) - slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Over the concluding stages laid in under pressure.

Shaquero (J. Toeroek) - Change of tactics - attempt to lead in the event if possible. Horse led. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Pegasi (D. Tourneur) – raced keenly in the early stages.

Exalted Fire (J. Eaton) - raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1000m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of LE FERRARI. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have thumps and a poor post-race recovery. First aid administered.

Disagreeable Miss (T. Voorham) - slow to begin.

Tapinforpar (J. Opperman) – slow to begin. Lost its off hind plate during the event.

Wolfburn (R. Milnes) – raced three wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Rising Legend (T. Voorham) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Dale's Rocket (C. Puls) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

Marvelous Night (A. Livesey) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Impossible Action (J. Toeroek) – laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery and heat stress. First aid administered.

Rabtat (J. Eaton) – stood flat footed at the start, was slow to begin and lost considerable ground (approximately three lengths). Trainer, Mr M. Hickmott was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its racing manners.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding tactics employed by riders R. Milnes (WOLFBURN), T. Voorham (RISING LEGEND) & A. Livesey (MARVELOUS NIGHT) in particular into the early and middle sections of the race. Evidence was taken R. Milnes (WOLFBURN), T. Voorham (RISING LEGEND) & A. Livesey (MARVELOUS NIGHT). Evidence was also taken from Mr A. Brewster, stable representative of Mr P. Stokes trainer of WOLFBURN, Mr C. Bieg trainer of RISING LEGEND and Ms H. Lehman trainer of MARVELOUS NIGHT. After taking evidence from the parties concerned the Stewards adjourned this matter to a date and time to be fixed.
