The start of this event was rescheduled to 12.14pm on Thursday, 22 March, due to a request from Sky Channel.

CONFRONTATIONAL (P. Gatt) – raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.

WHEELS (NZ) (J. Holder) – rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, from the vicinity of the 600m was unable to maintain contact with the leaders and did not respond to his riding when asked for an effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

OATH OF OMERTA (T. Pannell) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

RABTAT (J. Eaton) – change of tactics – attempt to settle further forward if it jumped away well – led. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

WOLF PRINCE (B. Price) – raced keenly in the middle stages of the event and near the 1200m allowed his mount to roll forward and obtain the lead. Rider explained that he had improved to obtain the lead near the 1000m to comply with the instruction from the trainer to make a mid-race move. Trainer, Mr G. Young, confirmed the instructions.

The start of this event was delayed approximately six minutes.

GRINZINGER LOVE (L. Riordan) – lost its near fore plate en route to the barrier and required farrier attention. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting GOOD PAR. Rider reported that he was concerned with the filly’s action over the concluding stages and on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in both forelegs (2/5). Trainer, Mr D. O’Brien, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

JUSTA STAR (C. Jones) – hung out from the 600m until the entrance to the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RECIPROCAL (T. Voorham) – hampered and lost its position on jumping away when GOOD PAR was taken out into its running line.

STRASBEAU (W. Price) – fractious in the barrier, broke through the front of the barriers and galloped for some distance. After discussion with co-trainer, Mr R. Jolly, Stewards declared STRASBEAU a late scratching at 12.51pm.

DUBAI FOCUS (J. Opperman) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 600m lost its position when tightened onto DUCHESS OF SUSSEX by UKI RAIN, which was taken out. Hung in under pressure in the straight.

UKI RAIN (A. Livesey) – approaching the 600m was taken out onto DUBAI FOCUS by LOCA BELLA. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

PURE AQUA (J. Toeroek) – dipped shortly after the start.

THUNDER SHOC (B. Price) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages, and approaching the 600m became awkwardly placed on the heels of SO GRAND, and in being steadied shifted out across the heels of GRINZINGER LOVE and lost ground.

GOOD PAR (A. Jordsjo) – inconvenienced on jumping away when taken out onto RECIPROCAL by GRINZINGER LOVE. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

IN LOVE (T. Pannell) – jumped away awkwardly.

LOCA BELLA (J. Holder) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Approaching the 600m shifted out abruptly onto UKI RAIN.

The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes.

PROVEN CORRECT (J. Holder) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the 200m where it became held up when awkwardly placed on the heels of WARLORDS, and was only able to obtain clear ground near the 100m.

THE MANSMAN (NZ) (L. Neindorf) – near the 700m was inconvenienced when brushed by ENCIPHERING for a short distance. Rider explained that the colt travelled well in the early stages; however, after receiving a bump near the 700m dropped the bridle and then only finished the race off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FLAMBARD (B. Price) – fractious in the barrier and became cast. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declare FLAMBARD a late scratching at 1.25pm. Trainer, Mr B. Cozamanis, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would now be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start. Mr Cozamanis was further advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to being fractious in the barrier.

SOLAR MIST (J. Opperman) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Near the 100m rider lost the use of his whip when it was knocked from his hand by the whip of L. Neindorf.

UNDER THE CONE (J. Toeroek) – held up from the entrance to the straight until near the 200m.

ENCIPHERING (T. Voorham) – near the 700m attempted to shift out and in doing so brushed with THE MANSMAN (NZ) for a short distance, which held its line resulting in ENCIPHERING being held up for a short distance.

THIRSTY GUEST (J. Opperman) – laid out rounding the home turn. Rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, when placed under pressure at the entrance to the straight had not finished off as he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg (3/5). Co-trainers, Mr D. Clarken & Ms O. MacGillivray, were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

LAKE'S FOLLY (J. Eaton) – slow to begin.

POOL PONY (B. Price) – rider explained that the gelding was under pressure from near the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DECLARED (R. Milnes) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

WINNING REVOLUTION (B. Wong) – laid in under pressure over the concluding 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (2/5). Trainer, Mr J. O’Connor, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

TREASURWAY (P. Gatt) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

COSTLESS (S. Metcalfe) – rider was reminded of her obligations in using her whip in a manner that did not raise her arm above shoulder height.

GIVE SOME LIP (B. Price) – rider explained that the gelding never travelled, did not let down when asked for an effort and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KARAKA KIWI (NZ) (S. Payne) – at the entrance to the straight was held up for a short distance when awkwardly placed between the heels of OBEDIENCE and PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE (NZ) and then inside the 200m had to be steadied for a short distance when OBEDIENCE was taken out into its running line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE (NZ) (L. Riordan) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MASTER AT ARMS (NZ) (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.

OBEDIENCE (T. Pannell) – inside the 200m was taken out into the running line of KARAKA KIWI (NZ) by PUNCHIN.

PUNCHIN (K. Crowther) – hung out in the straight and inside the 200m hung out onto OBEDIENCE despite the efforts of its rider.

ONE SKY ABOVE US (R. Milnes) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

MISSILE STAR (A. Lindsay) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

GRINZINGER PRINCE (E. Finnegan) – slow to begin. Contacted the running rail near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SHAQUERO (P. Gatt) – contacted the running rail near the 700m.

GREY RIVER (T. Pannell) – jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and wide without cover throughout the event.

NUNTHORPE (W. Price) – became awkward in its action and dipped near the 500m for no apparent reason. Rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early stages; however, near the 500m changed strides, dipped and was then under pressure from that stage of the race to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg (1/5). Co-trainers, Mr P. Moody and Ms K. Coleman, were advised that a Veterinary Clearance was required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

BALLON D'OR (K. Crowther) – jumped away awkwardly.

BOOGNISH (B. Price) – slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the 400m until near the 200m.
