MAGIC MAX (R. Milnes) – slow into stride.

EL SALTO (J. Kissick) – in the vicinity of the 400m was inconvenienced when it improved onto the heels of RUNAWAY BELLE and had to be steadied.

THE MAGISTRATE (J. Opperman) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

MOUSE ALMIGHTY (H. Yuen) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, when placed under pressure did not improve as it had at its most recent starts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg (2/5). Trainer, Mr G. Dimitropoulos, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

SPACE EQUITY (D. Caboche) – slow to begin.

WOLF PRINCE (J. Holder) – slow to begin. Improved around the field from near the 1200m to take up a position outside the leader. Rider reported that the gelding was one-paced following this manoeuvre.

KARAKA KIWI (NZ) (J. Kissick) – jumped away awkwardly.

TEMBU BOY (E. Finnegan) – over the concluding 50m had difficulty obtaining clear ground.

LUCKY JACKSON (R. Milnes) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

I NEED A DRINK (R. Milnes) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KARBURAN (FR) (T. Pannell) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider explained that his instructions were to attempt to obtain a position midfield with cover; however, due to the gelding racing fiercely in the early stages, it raced forward and obtained the lead despite his efforts.

DOES IT (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – near the 150m was inconvenienced when SHAKESPEARE (NZ) shifted out.

LAKE'S FOLLY (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out hampering BADONKIDONK and lost ground.

TRUMPSTA (C. Jones) – near the 50m had to be steadied when it improved onto the heels of KARBURAN (FR), and was unable to be tested over the concluding stages.

SHAKESPEARE (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – near the 150m shifted out to improve and in doing so inconvenienced DOES IT (NZ). Rider was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.

BADONKIDONK (A. Livesey) – hampered when contacted on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CRIMSON VINE (NZ) (J. Opperman) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. From the entrance to the straight until near the 200m had difficulty obtaining clear ground when awkwardly placed on the heels of A SAMURAI MIND.

A SAMURAI MIND (L. Neindorf) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

DODD (A. Kelly) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

FREE VINO (L. Riordan) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the vicinity of the 100m until approaching the finish.

UTILITARIAN (C. Murray) – raced keenly in the middle stages.

PRINCE REICHWEITE (C. Jones) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the 200m. Rider reported that the gelding didn’t stretch out in its normal manner in the early stages of the event.

SIR REGINALD (T. Voorham) – slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

BURNING BRIGHT (J. Holder) – laid out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the straight.

DARE TO BE FREE (D. Tourneur) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

TRANTORO (A. Livesey) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TRUE GEM (J. Opperman) – approaching the 200m was disappointed when attempting a tight run to the inside of THE STALKER and was obliged to alter course to that gelding’s outside to obtain clear ground.

CHAMBERS BAY (K. Crowther) – had difficult obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until near the 100m.

MESSERSCHMITT (R. Milnes) – jumped away awkwardly.

ROCKSTAR MEGGSY (A. Livesey) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

EGYPTIAN TYCOON (C. Jones) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the 200m where it was able to ease across the heels of PURE BLISS.

STREETCAR APOLLO (J. Holder) – awkward and slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

CHOSEN BLONDE (F. Atkinson) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

SUNZOU (R. Milnes) – fractious in the barrier and broke through the front of its barrier gate. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. R. Milnes was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and passed fit to fulfil her ride.

HE'S PURRING (C. Murray) – slow to begin.

HUNTLEY LADY (L. Neindorf) – awkward to begin.

STARTIDE (T. Pannell) – rider reported that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, when placed under pressure it had initially responded to his riding, but then became awkward in its action inside the 200m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FOSTER STREET (A. Kelly) – awkward to begin and slow into stride. Laid out from near the 700m to the entrance to the straight.

SKINDER (J. Holder) – rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, was disappointing when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

VOLCANIC EXPRESS (K. Crowther) – awkward to begin and slow into stride.

EVERLY (J. Opperman) – change of tactics – attempt to settle further back from its wide barrier – settled back with cover. Awkward to begin.

AMMO AMOR (R. Milnes) – held up from inside the 500m until the concluding stages.

DIXIE WHISTLER (H. Yuen) – change of tactics – attempt to gain cover – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight, and had difficulty obtaining clear ground inside the 100m.

BOLT BY (J. Kissick) – held up from inside the 500m until approaching the 100m.

GRINZINGER ALLEE (NZ) (C. Jones) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

BELLAVARDO (NZ) (T. Voorham) – rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended for period to commence midnight Sunday, 21 April 2024 and to conclude midnight Thursday, 25 April 2024, a period of two race meetings. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by T. Voorham and noted that she used it on seven occasions over the final 100m of the event.

UNDER THE CONE (J. Toeroek) – slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground for a short distance near the 400m.

COPPERFIELD (NZ) (A. Kelly) – hung out throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
