The start of this event was delayed approximately six minutes. ALL BEANS (H. Yuen) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Inside the 300m was inconvenienced when taken out onto EXLATED DAME by COSTLESS. PRAIRIE FLOWER (M. Collett) – held up from near the 600m until inside the 300m when it was able to shift to the inside of the heels of SIXTEEN REASONS, which shifted out. SWEETENED (B. Price) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. BUBBLE OVER (N. Farley) – shifted out on jumping away onto SIXTEEN REASONS. STARLITE VALLEY (C. Jones) – inside the 300m was initially taken in slightly by LOSESOMEWINMORE, and then had its hindquarters contacted by EXLATED DAME, which had been taken out, resulting in the mare being turned in. SIXTEEN REASONS (L. Neindorf) – inconvenienced on jumping away when taken out onto TRES BELLE by BUBBLE OVER. Near the 700m was forced to race in restricted room for a number of strides between the heels of STARLITE VALLEY and LOSESOMEWINMORE, which both shifted ground slightly. LOSESOMEWINMORE (J. Toeroek) – awkward to begin. CLASSY BANNER (T. Voorham) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. TRES BELLE (A. Livesey) – slow into stride. COSTLESS (S. Metcalfe) – inside the 300m shifted out onto ALL BEANS, which was taken out onto EXLATED DAME. Rider was severely reprimanded and advised in future she would be required to make an effort to straighten her mounts sooner than she had on this occasion. EXALTED DAME (B. Shinn) – inside the 300m was disappointed when attempting a tight run between ALL BEANS, which was taken out by COSTLESS, and STARLITE VALLEY, which was taken in slightly by LOSESOMEWINMORE, and then shortly after had its hindquarters turned out turning it in, resulting in B. Shinn having to take hold and losing its position. SUPERIOR SAM (NZ) (J. Eaton) – slow into stride. Rider reported that the mare never travelled and in her opinion was not suited by the track condition. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. |
