The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes to avoid clash with an interstate event.

Jacobs Gate (T. Voorham) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

Saint Michael (K. Crowther) – restless in its barrier prior to the start being affected. Began awkwardly. Trainer, Mr J. Pickering was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its barrier manners.

Idracowra (M. Collett) – near the 900m shifted in when not fully clear of TEARDROP ROTATION and as a result that filly had to be eased. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to exercise greater care when shifting ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider reported that the filly laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to filly’s near hind leg.

The Arithmetician (J. Potter) – near the 150m was eased off the heels of MR JONES and shifted out when that gelding commenced to give ground quickly.

Teardrop Rotation (F. Atkinson) – began awkwardly. Near the 900m was eased to avoid the heels of IDRACOWRA, which shifted in when not fully clear. Rider reported that the filly raced greenly and laid in, in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Montepulciano (F. Atkinson) – when questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in today’s event, rider explained that she had been instructed to attempt to ride the gelding with cover; however, after being caught wide early and with the lack of pace in the event, she elected to allow MONTEPULCIANO to stride forward rather than racing wide throughout and as a result settled in a more forward position than intended. The stable confirmed these instructions.

The Cunning Fox (NZ) (T. Pannell) – rider could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Dixie Whistler (A. Livesey) – rider reported that near the 800m the mare shifted out and away from the rail and from that point on raced one off the fence and then commenced to lay out in the straight.

Fizique (S. Logan) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Sesar (M. Collett) - slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages and got its head up on several occasions when being restrained.

Following the running of this event, rider B. Price was examined by First Care Medical personnel and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.

Eamonn's Memory (NZ) (T. Pannell) – near the 900m raced in restricted room to the inside of KING MOYA, which was taken in by CARARADA, which in turn was taken in by WILLYBEAFACTOR. Held up from near the 400m until near the 300m.

Big Option (C. Murray) - slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.

Willybeafactor (H. Yuen) – near the 900m shifted in when not clear of CARARADA and as a result that mare was tightened in onto KING MOYA, which in turn was tightened in onto EAMONN'S MEMORY (NZ). During this incident CARARADA clipped the heels of WILLYBEAFACTOR. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Monday, 10 June 2024 and to conclude midnight Wednesday, 19 June 2024, a period of three meetings. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account H. Yuen’s record and her guilty plea.

Tosen Water (K. Crowther) - slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider reported that the mare, which had blinkers for the first time today, did not respond to her riding when placed under pressure and, in her opinion, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Cararada (J. Holder) – near the 900m clipped heels and changed stride when tightened for room by WILLYBEAFACTOR, which shifted in when not clear.

King Moya (D. Tourneur) – near the 900m raced in restricted room between EAMONN'S MEMORY (NZ) and CARARADA, which was taken in by WILLYBEAFACTOR, which shifted in when not clear.

Brave Star (NZ) (R. Milnes) – began awkwardly, shifted out and contacted MARACOURT.

Maracourt (J. Holder) – shifted in on jumping away and contacted BRAVE STAR (NZ).

Chipson (K. Crowther) - slow to begin. Rider reported that the gelding hung in and proved difficult to ride out in her normal manner in the straight.

Commander Meroo (J. Toeroek) - slow to begin. Held up from the 500m until the 300m.

Copperfield (NZ) (T. Pannell) – rider reported that the gelding hung out in the straight.

Dawnburst (S. Payne) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Run And Tell (B. Price) – rider reported that the gelding hung out over the concluding stages and proved difficult to ride out in his normal manner.

Foster Street (A. Livesey) – lost its near fore plate on arrival at the barriers and was required to be reshod. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. Over raced in the early stages. Rider reported that the gelding hung in, in the straight.

Jenkins (R. Milnes) – had difficulty obtaining clear running from near the 300m until inside the 200m.

East Indiaman (J. Holder) – near the 1000m was taken out off its course by CO CO VAN WINKLE (NZ), which shifted out when over racing. Raced wide from this point onwards. Rider reported that he had some concerns with the gelding’s action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Annihilate (T. Voorham) – rider reported that the gelding laid in prior to and rounding the home turn and in the straight under pressure.

I'm Kenny (A. Livesey) - lost its near hind plate during the event.

Co Co Van Winkle (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – rider reported that the mare over raced badly in the early and middle stages and, in his opinion, this was detrimental to the mare’s performance today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Nicajon (T. Pannell) – near the 400m raced tightly to the inside of SET TO PROPHET for a short distance when that gelding shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Held up from this point onwards until near the 200m before obtaining clear running.

Set To Prophet (S. Payne) – began awkwardly, shifted in and contacted UNDERSTATEMENT, which shifted out. Near the 400m shifted in slightly before being straightened by its rider.

Understatement (D. Caboche) - began awkwardly, shifted out and contacted SET TO PROPHET.

Santastico (J. Opperman) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Hot Off (M. Collett) – held up for clear running from near the 500m until approaching the 400m.

Bona Fide Star (J. Doyle) - slow to begin.

Derby Downs (R. Milnes) – near the 100m shifted back to the inside of HOT OFF when improving. Approaching the winning post shifted out under pressure. Rider was advised to exercise care when in similar circumstances.

Nicish (K. Crowther) – rider reported that the filly over raced badly in the early and middles stages and this was detrimental to its chances today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Runaway Statement (T. Pannell) – rider explained that, in his opinion, the filly was disappointing and did not respond to his riding as anticipated when placed under pressure in the straight. He added that the RUNAWAY STATEMENT pulled up in a normal manner.

Our Divinyl (J. Holder) – tightened at the start between RUNAWAY STATEMENT and TIPSY VIXEN, which began awkwardly and shifted out. Approaching the winning post was eased when awkwardly placed near the heels of DERBY DOWNS, which had shifted out under pressure.

Cherokee Miss (B. Price) - began awkwardly and attempted to buck shortly after the start. Co-trainers, Mr R Jolly and Ms C. Jolly were advised that a warning had been placed on the filly in relation to its racing manners.

Hollandaise (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the gelding did not respond to her riding when placed under pressure in the straight and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Devil's Dexter (D. Tourneur) – approaching the winning post was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of HARD PRINCE.

Tipsy Vixen (F. Atkinson) – near the 400m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of CHEROKEE MISS. Rider reported that the filly laid in under pressure in the straight.

Montign (F. Atkinson) – tightened at the start between SWEET BABY BOOM, which began extremely awkwardly and shifted out and VALIDATED, which was taken in by AITCH D'AMICO. Near the 900m raced tight to the inside of VALIDATED, which had been taken in by AITCH D'AMICO.

Validated (R. Milnes) – tightened on jumping away between MONTIGN and AITCH D'AMICO, which began awkwardly and shifted in. Near the 900m clipped the heels of MONTIGN and blundered when taken in by AITCH D'AMICO, which in turn, when racing keenly had been taken in slightly by EXALTED DAME, which in turn was taken in slightly by PICARGO. As this incident could not be attributed to any one horse or rider, Stewards took no action other than to notify all riders involved that when in similar circumstances to do their utmost to protect their fellow riders. Held up for clear running from near the 400m until the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Aitch D'amico (B. Price) – began awkwardly, shifted in and tightened VALIDATED. Near the 900m when racing keenly was taken in slightly by EXALTED DAME, which shifted in slightly before being taken in slightly by PICARGO.

Sweet Baby Boom (K. Crowther) - began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and tightened MONTIGN.

Crown Mint (D. Tourneur) – raced wide without cover throughout.

Rockstar Meggsy (J. Holder) – raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 900m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of EXALTED DAME. After being steadied got its head up for a short distance.

Exalted Dame (H. Yuen) – near the 900m initially shifted in slightly before its rider attempted to straighten her mount and was then taken in again slightly by PICARGO. Near the 800m when racing keenly shifted out slightly and accidentally clipped the heels of PICARGO, and as a result the mare knuckled and lost ground.
