The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

Almonti (J. Opperman) – approaching the 100m became awkwardly placed on the heels of FAIR LEGACY and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear ground. Rider reported that the gelding never travelled and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Holmes (T. Pannell) – dipped shortly after the start.

Delta Tango (B. Price) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

Red Sequoia (J. Potter) – when Stewards questioned the rider in relation to his instructions adopted in today’s event, rider explained that he had been instructed to obtain a position more forward than at the gelding’s most recent race and he had anticipated finding a position mid field with cover. He added after being positive in the early stages, he made an assessment that due to the formation of the field, it would be detrimental to restrain to settle midfield and for this reason he allowed the gelding to stride forward and sit outside the leader. He stated that RED SEQUOIA travelled comfortably during the event and finished the event off well. Trainer, Mr P. Moody confirmed the instructions.

Ocean Blast (NZ) (L. Neindorf) – slow to begin. Rider reported that, in his opinion, the gelding was not suited by the distance of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Rockbarton Road (S. Fawke) - slow to begin.

Aperol Sprint (J. Eaton) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. Change of tactics - attempt to take up a forward position in the event if possible – Led. Rider reported that the mare raced flat. Trainer reported on Monday, 22 July 2024 that the mare had swelling in its off fore fetlock.

LINES OF GLORY (A. Kelly) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race.

Silent Alert (K. Crowther) – jumped away awkwardly and shortly after was inconvenienced when INTACTO shifted out. Rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early stages; however, was under pressure from the 500m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Zanthron (H. Yuen) – held up from near the 400m until approaching the 300m when the gelding shifted out to improve and in doing so, shifted out onto MIDNIGHT POKER, which was momentarily inconvenienced. Rider was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.

Shadowfax (F. Atkinson) – laid in throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Midnight Poker (J. Opperman) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Sir Now (M. Collett) – fractious in its barrier after being loaded. Trainer, Mr D. Hewitt, was advised that a warning had been placed on the colt in relation to its barrier manners.

Intacto (J. Doyle) – shifted out on jumping away onto SILENT ALERT.

Crown Moshe (A. Livesey) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground from approaching the 400m until inside the 300m.

Smiling Assassin (M. Collett) - jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported that the gelding was not suited by the slow tempo.

Chosen Miss (S. Fawke) - slow to begin. Near the 600m shifted in onto SHEARMAN DYER and then shifted in further when its hind quarters were contacted by that gelding and as a result, SHEARMAN DYER had to be steadied. Rider was reminded. Reported that the mare was not suited by the slow tempo.

A Touch Frosty (A. Kelly) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Whisky Sour (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, was under pressure from near the 700m and failed to finish the event off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Shearman Dyer (A. Livesey) – near the 600m had to be steadied when CHOSEN MISS shifted in at the same time as the gelding shifted out slightly.

Estrapaz (T. Stockdale) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 150m shifted out onto CHARM SLINGA (NZ) and then continued to shift out under pressure to the finish. Rider was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.

Komachi (IRE) (B. Price) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 150m was inconvenienced when taken in onto CHARM SLINGA (NZ) by AIGUILETTE, which shifted in.

Aiguilette (D. Tourneur) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Near the 150m shifted in onto KOMACHI (IRE) taking that gelding in. Rider was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.

Longwarry (A. Livesey) - jumped away awkwardly.

Alainge (M. Collett) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Rubini (A. Kelly) - slow to begin.

Charm Slinga (NZ) (H. Yuen) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 150m was disappointed and then forced to take hold when attempting a run between KOMACHI (IRE), which had been taken in slightly by AIGUILETTE and ESTRAPAZ, which shifted out slightly. Shortly after became awkwardly placed on the heels of ESTRAPAZ for a number of strides when that gelding continued to shift out.

Four Ace (T. Pannell) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and contacted CRIME OF PASSION.

Snoopy Now (S. Fawke) - jumped away awkwardly and then shifted out and away from STOLEN KISS. Rider dropped his near side rein approaching the 100m.

Serinite Illusion (S. Logan) - jumped away awkwardly.

Hard Leaf (C. Murray) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and contacted HEINOUS.

Heinous (T. Voorham) – rider reported that, in her opinion, the filly may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Supercilious (J. Holder) – rider reported that, in his opinion, the filly would be better suited on a firmer track.

Talisay (B. Price) – stood flat footed and was slow into stride.

Crime Of Passion (T. Stockdale) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and contacted FOUR ACE. Rider reported that, in his opinion, the filly did not handle the heavy track condition. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). Co-trainers, Mr M. Price and Mr M. Kent (Jnr) were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

Stolen Kiss (L. Neindorf) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

Trumpsta (T. Johnstone) – raced wide without cover in the early stages of the event. Hung in over the concluding 700m and near the 200m shifted in onto CROWN MINT, which was inconvenienced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Peacemaker (F. Atkinson) – at the entrance to the straight improved into a run where there was limited room to inside of CROWN MINT and shortly after was eased and altered course to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Crown Mint (A. Livesey) - jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

Exalted Ruth (M. Collett) - slow to begin.

Stardealt (T. Pannell) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs (1/5). Trainer, Mr J. Warren was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

Maxildo (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly. At the entrance to the straight had to be checked to avoid the heels of TIPSY VIXEN, which shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Navy Gold (J. Opperman) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Tipsy Vixen (L. Neindorf) – at the entrance to the straight shifted out when insufficiently clear of MAXILDO, which was forced to be checked to avoid the heels of TIPSY VIXEN. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 27 July 2024 and to conclude midnight 10 August 2024, a period of six meetings. Laid out over the concluding 200m and inside the 200m shifted out under riding into the running line of BURNING BRIGHT, which was hampered, and continued out under riding resulting in BURNING BRIGHT being obliged to steady and alter course. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 27 July 2024 and to conclude midnight Saturday, 17 August 2024, a period of eight meetings. Acting under AR283(4) Stewards ordered that these suspensions be served concurrently.

Burning Bright (J. Holder) – inside the 200m was hampered when TIPSY VIXEN shifted out. Near the 100m had to be steadied and altered course to the inside of that filly to obtain clear ground.

Flying Assassin (S. Fawke) – restrained in the early stages to obtain a position at the rear of the field.

Fiery Moon (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding laid in, in the early stages and in the straight.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow J. Holder (BURNING BRIGHT), placed second, and Trainer, Mr A. Gluyas to view the vision in the straight. After doing so J. Holder lodged an objection against L. Neindorf (TIPSY VIXEN) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the concluding 300m of the event. After considering the evidence, viewing the official footage and acting on their own observations Stewards dismissed the objection.
