CROWN MINT (A. Livesey) – raced fiercely in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 150m rolled out into the running line of SPELMAN.

KIMMORLEY (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Rider reported that the gelding was slow to begin and did not show any early pace resulting in him settling further back than he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Ms M. Raymond, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

SPELMAN (H. Yuen) – near the 150m altered course to the inside of CROWN MINT, which rolled out.

NOBLE LEGEND (W. Price) – inconvenienced on jumping away. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

POINTLESS PRAISE (J. Toeroek) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SOAMES (A. Lindsay) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

RUBINI (B. Price) – shifted in shortly after the start onto NOBLE LEGEND.

UNTOUCHABLE ED (NZ) (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

AFRICAN PIONEER (C. Murray) – rider reported that the gelding was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

AKITU (J. Toeroek) – restrained on jumping away to obtain a position with cover at the rear of the field. Rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, when asked for an effort did not respond and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near four leg (2/5). Trainer, Ms M. Raymond, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

FLEURIEU FLIPPER (D. Tourneur) – slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (1/5). Trainer, Ms R. Day, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

ENBARR (M. Henderson) – inconvenienced when bumped on jumping away.

SET TO PROPHET (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped ENBARR.

RESERVOIR DOG (J. Opperman) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

STRATUM PRIDE (J. Eaton) – lost its near fore plate prior to the event and required farrier attention on arrival at the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

KISS THE BRIDE (NZ) (S. Fawke) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

MONTEPULCIANO (K. Crowther) – slow to begin.

SHAKESPEARE (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BRAVE STAR (NZ) (L. Neindorf) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

EXTREMELY LUCKY (T. Pannell) – following the declaration of acceptances the stable made a gear application to add a noseband and tongue tie to the gelding’s race gear. Stewards acceded to this request and acting under AR206(2) fined the stable $200. Inconvenienced on jumping away.

STRUCK BY (B. Price) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KEEP READING (J. Opperman) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

SECOND TO NUN (K. Crowther) – shifted out on jumping away contacting FIFTEEN ROUNDS, and as a result was inconvenienced when its hindquarters were turned in.

BOOGNISH (J. Kah) – held up from the 500m until the entrance to the straight and was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

KARACASU (L. Neindorf) – shifted out on jumping away onto EXTREMELY LUCKY. When questioned in relation to his instructions provided in this event rider explained that he was advised to have the gelding settle in a position according to how it jumped away, and to be mindful that it can be slow to begin. He added after jumping away well KARACASU improved of its own accord and obtained the lead, travelled extremely well and finished the event off strongly. Co-trainer, Mr R. Jolly, confirmed the instructions provided were to have the horse settle in a position according to how it jumped away.

FIFTEEN ROUNDS (J. Potter) – contacted on jumping away.

MOUSE ALMIGHTY (S. Metcalfe) – jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

A SAMURAI MIND (L. Neindorf) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

HARD PRINCE (J. Toeroek) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding. He added that in his opinion HARD PRINCE may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TIPSY VIXEN (J. Opperman) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

DIVINE FIRE (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly.

MISS RUBICK (S. Logan) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the near hind fetlock and pastern.

The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes.

WIGGUM (L. Neindorf) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

RICHE D'AMOUR (S. Payne) – slow to begin. Rider reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.

SATIN AND SILK (T. Pannell) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and contacted MESROUR.

LINGANI (D. Tourneur) – held up from near the 400m until approaching the 200m. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

HAJRA (K. Crowther) – slow to begin, and shortly after was inconvenienced when RICHE D’AMOUR shifted in slightly. Rider explained that after being slow to begin, and then hampered shortly after the start, she was obliged to put the filly under more pressure than she had hoped in the early stages to take up a position at the rear of the field, and for this reason she was of the opinion that the filly did not finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MESROUR (B. Price) – contacted on jumping away.

ARABIAN SUMMER (B. Mertens) – broke through the front of its barrier after being loaded and was quickly restrained. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to have a puncture wound and lacerations to the off fore fetlock and cannon, and therefore was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared ARABIAN SUMMER a late scratching at 4.10pm. Co-trainer, Mr C. McEvoy, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior future jump-out, trial or race start, and that a warning had been placed on the filly.

BONAVENA (S. Logan) – laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that her mount raced greenly throughout the event.
