EM BRYAN (R. Milnes) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Slow into stride. Raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

KETCHIKAN (C. Rawiller) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

BLACK MARMALADE (NZ) (A. Lai) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Near the 1700m improved onto the heels of KETCHIKAN and had to be steadied.

PRADA GOSSIP (J. Potter) – rider reported that the mare travelled well in the event; however, when asked for an effort in the straight PRADA GOSSIP did not respond to his riding.

READY SET TAP (S. Metcalfe) – rider could offer no explanation for the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Mr D. Penna, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

TENTERK (T. Hutchinson) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, in her opinion TENTERK did not handle the step up in distance.

ICONIC MISSILE (A. Lai) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (3/5). Trainer, Mr M. McClean, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

ILLUMINATI GEM (A. Lindsay) – approaching the 600m raced in restricted room to the inside of THE REAL PRINCE and to the outside of KUNG FU KISSES (NZ). A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MERCURY FLYER (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly.

MR JONES (I. Lam) – jumped away awkwardly.

OUR SWOOSH (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

SAM'S REWARD (D. Caboche) – fractious in the barriers. Trainer, Mr K. Healy, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding.

SANDY'S REWARD (S. Metcalfe) – rider explained that the mare was off the bridle from the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately three minutes.

HECS DEBT (A. Lai) – near the 100m was obliged to be checked to avoid the heels of MISTNACES, which shifted out when insufficiently clear.

KNIGHT DANCER (A. Lindsay) – injured in the float en route to the course. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course which revealed a laceration and swelling to the near fore cannon. First aid administered. Acting on this advice Stewards declared KNIGHT DANCER a late scratching at 1.14pm. Trainer, Mr J. Macmillan, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

RUSCHEYNE (B. King) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start.

SPICY BOY (P. Brewster) – near the 400m had to be steadied when SHOULDSUEEM shifted in slightly when weakening. Rider explained that the gelding travelled only fairly in the event and in her opinion didn’t appreciate the kickback and was disappointing to finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg (4/5). Trainer, Mr J. McMahon, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

UNISPHERE (I. Lam) – on jumping away was hampered by MISTNACES and lost ground.

MAHI MAHI (A. Livesey) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto PETRA’S GRL. Rider explained that her saddle shifted back near the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg (2/5) and to have a poor post-race recovery and tachycardia. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr R. Balfour, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

MISTNACES (F. Atkinson) – on jumping away shifted out onto UNISPHERE. Near the 100m shifted out when insufficiently clear of HECS DEBT resulting in that gelding having to be checked to avoid the heels of MISTNACES. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Friday, 6 September 2024 and to conclude midnight Friday, 13 September 2024, a period of three meetings.

PETRA'S GIRL (S. Metcalfe) – jumped away awkwardly. Shifted out onto MAHI MAHI.

DJANGO EXPRESS (B. King) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Rider explained that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action in the straight, and for this reason she did not ride her mount out in her normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

JAMCRA (NZ) (C. Rawiller) – slow to begin.

OUR DESTRIER (Z. Lloyd) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

SUPER SHARP (R. Milnes) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

UNTOUCHABLE ED (NZ) (M. Wolanin) – hung out rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the straight. On Monday, 2 September 2024 trainer, Mr D. McLeod, reported to Stewards on return to the stable UNTOUCHABLE ED had a minor abrasion to its near fore knee.

SIR PANAMA (A. Lindsay) – hung in rounding the home turn.

THE CASSINI (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Approaching the 1200m was tightened for room between LADY TUCAN and DEVINE ASSASSIN, and shortly after lost its position.

OLD NEWMARKET (J. Potter) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Rider explained that the gelding travelled only fairly in the event and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LADY TUCAN (P. Brewster) – jumped away awkwardly.

DEVINE ASSASSIN (S. Fawke) – lost its near hind plate during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes.

EAST INDIAMAN (M. Wolanin) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Rider explained that in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate the kickback, but could offer no other explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. On Monday, 2 September 2024 trainer, Mr D. McLeod, reported to Stewards that on return to the stable EAST INDIAMAN had a minor abrasion to the near hind leg and was displaying signs of minor soreness in the region of the back.

LORD MORTON (T. Hutchinson) – held up for a short distance at the entrance to the straight.

VALAROC (B. King) – slow to begin.

THEY CALL ME ALVIN (H. Yuen) – on jumping away was tightened by MADDISON MISS, which shifted in, and INNER SANCTUM, which shifted out.

EMME'S SECRET (A. Lai) – dislodged its rider en route to the barriers, and galloped riderless for some distance and broke through a perimeter rail. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the near foreleg (2/5). Acting on this advice Stewards declared EMME’S SECRET a late scratching at 3.57pm. Trainer, Mr W. Hornhardt, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start. Mr Hornhardt was also advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its pre-race behaviour.

BONJOUR DE GAULLE (B. King) – rider explained that the gelding only travelled fairly in the event, but could offer no other explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LANCELOTTO (S. Fawke) – near the 1000m shifted in obliging BONJOUR MON AMOUR to be eased. Rider was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground and was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

TRELAZE (P. Brewster) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

BONJOUR MON AMOUR (I. Lam) – required to be resaddled on arrival at the barriers. Near the 1000m had to be eased when LANCELOTTO shifted in.

EDGY ERA (H. Yuen) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

ODDSOCK (F. Atkinson) – near the 200m had to alter course to improve. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
