Due to a request from Sky Channel this event was rescheduled to start at 12.03pm on Thursday, 31 October 2024.

DOLCEMENTE (R. Milnes) – held up from near the 500m until near the 300m. Rider reported that the mare laid in over the concluding stages of the event.

THERE GOES MY HERO (J. Holder) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider reported that the gelding was disappointing and did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight, and in his opinion my be better suited to racing with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (1/5). Co-trainers, Mr A. Bain and Mr N. Taylor, were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

DARTBOARD (T. Pannell) – slow to begin. Held up from near the 400m until near the 200m.

SALUTE THE STARS (J. Potter) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.

TOP CALIBRE (T. Pannell) – began awkwardly and was slow to begin.

PIVOTAL FORCE (B. Price) – slow to begin.

MYOCEAN WARRIOR (J. Potter) – laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting signs of heat stress. First aid administered.

WILLASTON (D. Tourneur) – lost its near hind plate during the event.

POOL PONY (T. Chapman) – began awkwardly and lost ground.

WILD WILLY (J. Opperman) – rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner, did not respond to his riding and in his opinion was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

HASSELTOFF (L. Neindorf) – lost its off hind plate during the event.

AITCH D'AMICO (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Rider reported that after being slow to begin the gelding did not muster early speed as she had anticipated and as a result settled further back than expected.

MERCHANT BOSS (B. Price) – rider reported that the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

NURYS (M. Collett) – near the 300m raced in restricted room for a short distance between POOL PONY and MERCHANT BOSS. Rider reported that the mare raced greenly when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.

IT'SBRUCE (J. Opperman) – rider reported that when placed under pressure the gelding did not respond to his riding and in his opinion was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LOMAX (L. Neindorf) – slow to begin.

PROVEN CORRECT (T. Johnstone) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

AWESOME LINEUP (C. Murray) – began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.

THERMODYNAMIC (IRE) (J. Holder) – hung in over the concluding stages of the event and proved difficult to ride out. Rider reported that the gelding hung in, in the straight and when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding as he anticipated. He added that THERMODYNCAMIC (IRE) may not have been suited to the moderate midrace tempo of today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

HADAR (S. Metcalfe) – began awkwardly.

WRITTEN BY YOU (J. Eaton) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

The start of this event was delayed approximately five minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

ROYAL MAJESTY (J. Holder) – acting on advice from trainer, Mr C. Bieg, that the filly had a foot abscess and would be unfit to start Stewards declared ROYAL MAJESTY a late scratching at 9.00am. Mr Bieg was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

BAY OF PORTLAND (M. Collett) – began awkwardly and lost ground as a result. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

DREAMS FULFILLED (A. Lai) – lost its near fore plate during the event.

DYER (T. Pannell) – passing the 300m when improving initially shifted out, then shifted back in before being straightened by its rider.

IMMORTAL BLISS (C. Murray) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding raced keenly and greenly throughout the event and in his opinion this was detrimental to its chances today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SHADOW EAGLE (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding had a tendency to lay out in the straight and raced greenly when placed under pressure.

THUNDER SHOC – Trainer, Mr W. Clarken reported the filly, on return to his stable, was bilaterally lame in front. On further examination by his stable veterinary an x-ray revealed a bone chip to the near fore knee. THUNDER SHOC will undergo a minor operation to remove the bone chip prior to racing again.

The start of this event was delayed approximately five minutes.

ASTRODEAN (A. Livesey) – at the entrance to the straight shifted out to improve and eased when awkwardly placed near the heels of SHARENDIPITY.

FASHION DOG (B. Price) – slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

TALL LETTER (S. Payne) – restless in its barrier prior to the start being effected and was slow to begin.

SHARENDIPITY (T. Johnstone) – lost its off fore plate en route to the barrier and required to be reshod on arrival at the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Rider reported that the mare over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event, laid out rounding the home turn and continued to lay out in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GLOBAL TURN (K. Crowther) – held up from near the 300m until near the 200m. Passing the 100m raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of OVERSTATED, which shifted in slightly before being straightened by its rider.

WIN O'CLOCK (GB) (J. Holder) – slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be tachycardic and showing signs of colic. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr T. Madigan was advised that she was required to comply with the Racing Australia Code of Practice in order for the gelding to be reinstated to race.

BIG STORY (NZ) (M. Nunes) – rider reported that the gelding laid in under pressure in the straight.

EUREKA'S VICTORY (S. Metcalfe) – lost its off hind plate during the event.

MAGNETIC EDGE (T. Johnstone) – slow to begin.

SHAKESPEARE (NZ) (A. Lai) – slow to begin.

SANDASTAN (A. Jordsjo) – hampered on jumping away by CULLEN SKINK, which shifted out. Rider reported that despite her efforts the gelding failed to display any early speed.

ALL BEANS (M. Collett) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr J. Pickering, was advised that as this was the gelding’s second bi-lateral bleed it was now ineligible to start in a race in accordance with AR79(6).

SIR SWAY (L. Neindorf) – laid out under pressure from near the 200m for the remainder of the event.

SIXTEEN REASONS (R. Milnes) – began awkwardly. Rider reported that the mare raced extremely keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

WINNING REVOLUTION (T. Johnstone) – rider reported that the gelding over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

WONDERWOMEN (B. Price) – rider reported that the mare over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up from near the 500m until near the 300m.

JEAN VALJEAN (T. Pannell) – near the 700m was steadied when tightened for room by WONDERWOMEN, which shifted in when over-racing despite the efforts of its rider.

DEEPFLOAT DIVA (M. Nunes) – near the 100m was taken out by SIR SWAY, which laid out under pressure.

GREAT MAXIMUS (J. Opperman) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

WALK LIKE AN ANGEL (J. Eaton) – began awkwardly. Approaching the 600m was checked when tightened for room between GREAT MAXIMUS and WINNING REVOLUTION, which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider when over-racing and brushed by WONDERWOMEN. As the Stewards were of the opinion that this incident was not attributed to any one rider or horse they took no action other than to inform all riders involved to do their best to protect their fellow riders when in similar circumstances.
