Payne) – laid out under pressure in the straight and over the concluding stages became awkwardly placed on the heels of NAMADJI. NAMADJI (J. Potter) - rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(b) to ensure he rides his mounts out to the finish. WE'VE GOTTA DEEL (P. Brewster) - jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running between the 400m and the 200m. WARRIOR XENA (M. Julius) – inconvenienced on jumping away as a barrier attendant had slightly inhibited the riders ability to jump away cleanly. Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the vision of the start. After reviewing the vision of WARRIOR XENA jumping away, Stewards were satisfied that the mare had not been denied a fair start and declared correct weight. |

Rider explained that her instructions were to take up a forward position in today’s event; however, after being slow to begin she was obliged to race in a rearward position. She added that the gelding raced keenly in the early and middle stages and she was obliged to steady THE GREY KING on a number of occasions throughout the event. She further added that the gelding let down well in the straight. TALES OF CONFLICT (J. Doyle) – had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn for a short distance. DISSMATIC (NZ) (J. Potter) – stood flat footed as the start was affected and as a result was slow to begin (six lengths). Trainer, Mr S. Whittle was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its barrier manners. Following the running of this event, rider D. Opperman) – shortly after the start was taken out by PORTATION and tightened the running of WEST CLIFF. In the vicinity of the 500m was inconvenienced by HARLEY'N'ROSE, which shifted out. HARLEY'N'ROSE (A. Livesey) – shortly after the start was taken in by RISING LEGEND onto CHIPSON. In the vicinity of the 500m shifted out and inconvenienced WHISKEY HANGOVER. Rider reported that the gelding never let down as he had anticipated in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. WEST CLIFF (P. Brewster) – got its head up on jumping away and as a result was slow to begin. Shortly after the start lost its position when tightened between WHISKEY HANGOVER and CHIPSON, when both runners shifted ground. Held up for clear running from inside the 200m until near the 50m. CHIPSON (K. Crowther) – shortly after the start was taken in by HARLEY'N'ROSE and tightened the running of WEST CLIFF. LOOSE LIP LLOYD (J. Eaton) – shortly after the start shifted out and took MARCOLT (NZ) wider. Raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Rider reported that, in her opinion, LOOSE LIP LLOYD did not appreciate today’s track conditions. ALITTLEBITPOLLY (K. Walters) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers, which revealed to mare to be lame in the near foreleg (3/5) and was deemed unsuitable to race.
