BRIMARVI ROSEMARIE (T. Voorham) – stood flat-footed and was slow to begin. Trainer, Ms S. Rutten, was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly.

DARLINC (R. Milnes) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

LADY VANHUSEN (Z. Lloyd) – raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

MADAM JEANETTE (A. Jordsjo) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the near hind fetlock. First aid administered.

SMOKIN' EYES (D. Tourneur) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

SO GRAND (J. Holder) –as the barrier attendant attending the filly had not completely cleared the filly’s barrier stall as the start was affected resulting in J. Holder making heavy contact with the barrier attendant and became unbalanced. Acting under AR204(1)(b) Stewards declared SO GRAND a non-starter. Refer General.

AVANZO (P. Brewster) – rider reported that the filly raced greenly over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow connections of MESROUR, placed second, to view the official image.

Correct weight was further delayed to allow T. Voorham (BRIMARVI ROSEMARIE) and J. Holder (SO GRAND) to view the vision of the start. After viewing the vision T. Voorham and J. Holder made submissions to Stewards that their horses be declared non-starters due to being denied a fair start. After considering the evidence, viewing the vision and acting on their own observations, Stewards declared BRIMARVI ROSEMARIE to be a starter; however, declared SO GRAND a non-starter under AR204(1)(b).

CROWN AND ANCHOR (T. Pannell) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Rider reported that in his opinion the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing.

MOTO MOTO (A. McCabe) – laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.

THRILLIONAIRE SON (D. Caboche) – slow to begin.

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (J. Opperman) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

THE TANK (S. Payne) – began awkwardly.

HI BABY FACE (M. Collett) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Rider reported that the mare felt short in its action over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg (3/5). Trainer, Mr D. Page, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

LUVICCI (A. Lindsay) – slow to begin.

RELLEUM (R. Milnes) – struck a rail in the mounting yard. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barrier and was deemed suitable to start.

SULTRINESS (NZ) (D. Tourneur) – raced wide without cover until near the 1000m where it was permitted to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader.

SHIFFANY (J. Potter) – near the 100m raced in restricted room between ABSOLUTELY STOKED, which shifted in slightly, and CROWN AND ANCHOR, which shifted out slightly.

Correct weight was delayed to allow J. Potter (SHIFFANY) to view the vision in the straight.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately four minutes.

LUDO (NZ) (A. Livesey) – over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event and made contact with the running rail between the 1300m and 1100m on numerous occasions. Continued to over-race and was held up from near the 500m to the 400m when unable to improve.

NO NAME NIGEL (NZ) (P. Brewster) – began awkwardly and shifted in.

SHADOWIST (R. Milnes) – rider reported that it was not her intention to lead on the gelding; however, after beginning well and being caught wide she elected to allow the gelding to stride forward and as a result lead.

GLACIES HEART (A. Lindsay) – slow to begin. Near the 100m was steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of FIERY MOON, which shifted in slightly.

IVA DREAM (T. Voorham) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

MY FRANCESS (J. Eaton) – refused to load. Acting on this advice Stewards declared MY FRANCESS a late scratching at 12.48pm. Trainer, Mr D. McLeod, was advised that mare would now be required to load without delay in either an Official Barrier Trial or Approval to Race Jump-out prior to a future race start.

SAVSONIC (NZ) (T. Johnstone) – rider reported that the mare travelled fairly in the early and middle stages of the event, and was then held up for a short distance at the entrance to the straight; however, when placed under pressure did not respond to her riding as she had anticipated and was disappointing. She added that in her opinion the mare may be feeling the effects of recent racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TINKLER REPO (A. Jordsjo) – on jumping away was severely hampered and steadied when tightened by NO NAME NIGEL, which began awkwardly and shifted in.

KIAN (J. Potter) – near the 700m was steadied when tightened for room by BONNY IMPACT, which was taken in by BARYNYA, which shifted in and away from MINE ALL MINE.

MINE ALL MINE (S. Payne) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

SAMID (NZ) (J. Holder) – following the declaration of acceptances Trainer, Mr G. Young, made a gear application to add blinkers to the gelding’s race gear. Stewards acceded to this request. Began awkwardly.

STRONG MINDED (B. Price) – slow to begin.

GOIN'TOTOWN (C. Tootell) – slow to begin.

BARYNYA (I. Lam) – near the 700m shifted in and away from MINE ALL MINE taking BONNY IMPACT in onto KIAN, which had to be steadied. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised in future she would be required to make a far greater effort to keep her mounts straight in similar circumstances.

BONNY IMPACT (A. Livesey) – near the 700m was taken in by BARYNYA, which shifted in. Held up for clear running from near the 500m until passing the 400m.

CINCHONA (J. Eaton) – rider reported that the filly, which was first up today, may derive benefit from its run today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

OK GERRY (R. Milnes) – shortly after the start was steadied when tightened for room between BONNY IMPACT, which shifted out slightly, and BARYNYA, which shifted in slightly.

LONGWARRY (M. Collett) – after passing the 100m shifted out tightening the running of ALLEGEDLY (FR), which was taken out and had to be checked to avoid the heels of LONGWARRY, and tightened the running of DARE TO BE FREE, which was in turn taken out and tightened GRAFTON AVENUE onto STAR STUDDED BELLE. As a result GRAFTON AVENUE had to be steadied. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 6 July 2024 to conclude midnight Wednesday, 17 July 2024, a period of four meetings.

FREE VINO (J. Holder) – near the 1200m rider was obliged to take hold of his mount when tightened for room between STAR STUDDED BELLE and STAR SIRIUS, which shifted in when insufficiently clear, and as a result lost its running.

ENDLESS FAITH (S. Payne) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid out under pressure in the early part of the straight before being corrected by its rider near the 300m and then shifted back in abruptly.

STAR SIRIUS (S. Metcalfe) – near the 1200m shifted in when insufficiently clear of FREE VINO, tightening that gelding in onto STAR STUDDED BELLE. As a result J. Holder was obliged to take hold of FREE VINO, which lost its rightful running. Rider pleaded guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 6 July 2024 to conclude midnight Saturday, 13 July 2024, a period of three meetings.

ALLEGEDLY (FR) (J. Potter) – approaching the winning post was checked to avoid the heels of LONGWARRY, which shifted out.

DARE TO BE FREE (A. Lai) – near the 100m was accidentally struck in the vicinity of the head by the whip of J. Potter. Approaching the winning post was hampered when tightened by ALLEGEDLY (FR), which had been taken out by LONGWARRY.

BLACK MARMALADE (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – slow to begin.

GRAFTON AVENUE (A. Livesey) – approaching the winning post had to be steadied when tightened for room between STAR STUDDED BELLE and DARE TO BE FREE, which was taken.

Correct weight was delayed to allow A. Lai (DARE TO BE FREE), placed fourth, and that mare’s trainer, Mr B. Bogarts, J. Doyle (STAR STUDDED BELLE), placed second, and A. Livesey (GRAFTON AVENUE), placed equal fifth, to view the vision in the straight. After doing so Mr Bogarts lodged an objection against LONGWARRY (M. Collett) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the concluding stages of the event, and A. Livesey lodged an objection against LONGWARRY being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the concluding stages of the event. After considering the evidence, viewing the vision and acting on their own observations Stewards dismissed both protests.

MONSEAGLE (T. Voorham) – laid in, in the straight.

OCEAN BLAST (NZ) (S. Payne) – began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from near the 500m until passing the 400m.

SOUTHERN SHOOTER (T. Johnstone) – rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner, did not respond to her riding when placed under pressure as anticipated and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

JAMROCK (T. Hutchinson) – began awkwardly. Near the 400m, when improving, was obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.

WARRANDYTE ROAD (J. Eaton) – began awkwardly.

MISS RUBICK (R. Milnes) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.
