MOTO MOTO (J. Toeroek) – hung in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride. Trainer, Mr S. Theodore, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding.

HOT FLUSH (M. Collett) – laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.

TOFINO (S. Fawke) – raced keen in the middle stages of the event and green throughout.

I LOVERAIN (J. Opperman) – lost its near hind plate during the event.

BOUNCING BEYOND (T. Johnstone) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider dropped her whip near the 200m.

ROUND TWO (J. Holder) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding travelled well for the majority of the event; however, when placed under pressure was green and in his opinion needs time to mature. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (1/5). Trainer, Mr B. Cozamanis, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

QUEENOFTHEAIR (B. Price) – began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped AVANZO. Raced green throughout the event.

SMILING AKEED (D. Caboche) – raced keen in the middle stages of the event.

AVANZO (J. Toeroek) – hampered at the start by QUEENOFTHEAIR, which shifted out, and as a result shifted out and hampered ROUND TWO. Rounding the home turn shifted out and away from QUEENOFTHEAIR. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the filly was bumped at the start and as a result raced further back than expected. He added that the filly then raced green for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KIAN (S. Logan) – held up from the 450m until the 250m.

MY CRACKLING (B. Price) – held up from inside the 200m and was obliged to shift in and away from REEL WHISKEY to improve its run from the 100m.

REEL WHISKEY (J. Toeroek) – change of tactics – to be ridden more aggressively – settled in a hand position. Performed below marked expectations. Rider was unable to offer any explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RHINESTONE RORY (S. Payne) – slow to begin.

SCARFACE (M. Henderson) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer, Ms S. Williams, was advised that as this was the gelding’s first bi-lateral bleed SCARFACE would now be suspended from racing for a period of three months in accordance with AR79(4) and would be required to have the gelding reinstated in accordance with AR79(4)(b) prior to a future race.

EXALTED JOY (A. Livesey) – began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered MORLAIX. Rider reported that the mare hung in for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MORLAIX (M. Collett) – hampered at the start by EXALTED JOY, which shifted in. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the mare was under pressure from the 800m and she became concerned with the horse in straight and for this reason she did not ride it out fully to the end of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

EXTRA BOUNCE (T. Hutchinson) – began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start got its head up when steadied away from the heels of MY CRACKLING. Had to be steadied momentarily near the 700m when racing tight to the inside of MORLAIX. Held up from near the 350m behind THE REAL PRINCE, shifted out to improve and continued to be held up until near the 150m when it was able to shift back in to obtain a run.

FAST BUBBLES (R. Milnes) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

LE PROVOCATEUR (J. Eaton) – trainer, Mr D. McLeod, reported that in his opinion the gelding may have choked down and he will be having his stable vet examine the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow the matter up.

ROO D'ORO (S. Payne) – slow to begin.

ALOHA BLUE (A. Livesey) – difficult to load. Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped CHOLULA.

BARYNYA (I. Lam) – rider reported that her saddle shifted back in the early stages of the event placing her at a disadvantage.

CHOLULA (B. King) – fractious en route to the start. Co-trainers, Mr L. and Miss E. Grantham, were advised that a warning had been placed on the mare. Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped ALOHA BLUE.

LOFONIA (H. Yuen) – shifted in at the start and bumped PERILOUS LASS. Rider reported that the mare raced flat and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PERILOUS LASS (K. Crowther) – began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LOFONIA. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the mare was in the worst part of the track for the majority of the event; however, raced greenly throughout and laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TRUPTICON (P. Brewster) – became tight at the start between ROO D’ORO and FAST BUBBLES, which both shifted ground. Rider reported the mare hung in, in the early and middle stages of the event.

The start of this event was delayed approximately six minutes.

MORTGAGE MAN (J. Holder) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

FANTASTIC HOST (S. Payne) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider reported that the gelding was disappointing when placed under pressure and in his opinion may be better suited over further distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LEADER'S PRIDE (T. Hutchinson) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

VEE ROD (NZ) (B. Price) – lost its off fore plate en route to the barriers and required farrier attention. Whilst being examined by the Veterinary surgeon lost its near fore plate and required further farrier attention. Underwent a further pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start.

JEWEL DE LUNE (P. Brewster) – performed below market expectations. Rider was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FLIGHT DECK (NZ) (I. Lam) – hung out rounding the home turn.

KUSHAN KHANIVALE (S. Payne) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced in the previous seven days and was found to be lame in the near hind leg (2/5) and therefore was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared KUSHAN KHANIVALE a late scratching at 2.19pm. Trainer, Mr G. Young, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

CHARM SLINGA (NZ) (R. Milnes) – slow to begin. Held up between the 400m and the 300m.

PETERZANO (S. Metcalfe) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding travelled well until entering the home straight and then made a respiratory noise which caused her concern. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer, Mr G. Kluske, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance including the results of an endoscope were required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

PRETTY RELIABLE (NZ) (A. Jordsjo) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

LEBANESE TRADER (C. Tootell) – raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages of the event.

LAST WAR (B. Price) – held up near the 100m and shifted wider to improve.

FUN FOREVER (A. Lai) – restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail. Raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

MILLIVOY (J. Toeroek) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event. Near the 200m was steadied when momentarily tightened to the inside of FUN FOREVER. Performed below market explanations. Rider explained that the gelding laid in for the majority of the event and proved disappointing when placed under pressure. He added that in his opinion MIILIVOY may not have been suited by the heavier weight burden. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SHIKANIC (B. Price) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding raced wide and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SOMEWATT FABULOUS (B. King) – raced tight near the 700m and shifted in and bumped the running rail.

ROYAL TELEPHONE (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the mare hung out from the 800m.

PRETENTIOUS LASS (R. Milnes) – began awkwardly and shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened. Rider reported that as a result the mare raced further back than anticipated. Raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

CROWN MOSHE (Z. Lloyd) – when the gates opened the mare’s head was in the stall to its inside and was being held by a barrier attendant, resulting in the mare being slow to begin.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow Z. Lloyd (CROWN MOSHE) and co-trainer, Mr J. Hickmott, to view the vision of the start. After doing so they made a submission to Stewards that CROWN MOSHE be declared a non-runner as it had been denied a fair start. After considering the evidence and viewing the vision Stewards declared CROWN MOSHE a nun-runner under AR204(c).
