WHISKY SOUR (T. Pannell) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

STARTS NOW (J. Toeroek) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the early part of the straight. Rider explained in relation to the gelding’s performance, his instructions were to be neutral; however, after a discussion with Co-trainer, Mr R. Jolly, it was the opinion to attempt to be further forward in the field. He added after jumping away well he obtained a good position and the gelding travelled fairly. He stated STARTS NOW worked into the race well and when placed under pressure near the 350m the gelding responded moderately to his riding. He stated that from shortly after the entrance to the straight, STARTS NOW laid in for a short distance and its action and breathing offered no abnormalities. Co-trainer, Mr R. Jolly confirmed the instructions provided and advised it’s the stables intention to continue with the gelding preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

FIANO NOW (K. Crowther) – held up for clear running from near the 500m until shortly after the entrance to the straight.

SHIFFANY (J. Potter) - jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 500m until inside the 200m and thereafter raced in restricted room between RIVOLI VIEW and KETCHIKAN until inside the 100m.

MARGIN OF ERROR (A. Jordsjo) – rider reported that it was not her intention to settle as far forward in the event; however, the gelding began well and she elected not to restrain.

SAINT MICHAEL (M. Collett) – over raced in the early and middle stages.

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (B. Price) – on jumping away bumped with OCHEROUS (NZ), which shifted out. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

GREAT CITY (S. Payne) - jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn for a short distance.

LORD VALEN (T. Pannell) - jumped away awkwardly.

COVERT WITNESS (J. Holder) – near the 1000m rolled out and bumped OCHEROUS (NZ).

FAIR LEGACY (S. Fawke) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

OCHEROUS (NZ) (L. Neindorf) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ABSOLUTELY STOKED. Near the 1000m bumped with COVERT WITNESS which rolled out.

LITTLE CHICAGO (I. Lam) – at the entrance to the straight shifted out to obtain a clear run.

SAVETHEBESTTILLAST (L. Neindorf) – approaching the finish was momentarily steadied when tightened onto I TELL YA WHAT as HIGH ON SUGAR, which was hanging out and shifted out.

THERMODYNAMIC (IRE) (J. Opperman) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

HIGH ON SUGAR (K. Crowther) – over raced in the early and middles stages. Hung out from the 600m for the remainder of the event. Approaching the winning post shifted out onto SAVETHEBESTTILLAST, which was obliged to be momentarily steadied when tightened and onto I TELL YA WHAT.

MAHENO (D. Tourneur) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

TWO PERCENT ICE (J. Toeroek) – rider reported that the gelding hung in throughout the event.

SAVSONIC (NZ) (E. Finnegan) – slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TINKLER REPO (T. Hutchinson) - slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

CHOSEN MISS (T. Hutchinson) – on jumping away was tightened between DINGABLEDINGA and TEMBU BOY, which had both shifted ground. Held up for clear running from the 500m until the entrance to the straight where it attempted to shift out between WARRANDYTE ROAD and SESAR and bumped with that gelding on a number of occasions, was obliged to be restrained and near the 200m shifted out to obtain clear running.

STAYING STRONG (D. Caboche) – on jumping away bumped TRANSZAM.

KING OF AVALON (NZ) (T. Pannell) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

DINGABLEDINGA (I. Lam) - lost its off fore plate during the event. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $200. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by I. Lam and noted that she used it on eleven occasions over the final 100m of the event.

SESAR (B. Price) – Trainer, Mr D. Saxon was reprimanded under LR8.9 and advised to ensure he arrives on course by the prescribed time.

TRANSZAM (T. Voorham) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped STAYING STRONG. Rider reported that the gelding was under pressure from the 600m and was very disappointing in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

OUR FORTUNA (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding became under pressure near the 1000m, did not respond to her riding and was disappointing in the event.

WARRANDYTE ROAD (A. Jordsjo) – rider reported that the gelding hung out throughout the event.

SIOUX WARRIOR (J. Holder) - lost its near hind plate during the event.

FLYING ASSASSIN (S. Fawke) – slow to begin (approximately three to four lengths) and shortly after was shifted in to take up a position closer to the rail. Rider reported that the gelding may not have appreciated the track condition. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

UTILITARIAN (R. Milnes) – on jumping away was inconvenienced as SWIFT TERCEL shifted in.

DUTHY STREET (S. Logan) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

LIFT THE BAR (D. Tourneur) – shortly after the start shifted in, in an attempt to gain cover.

SPLISH SPLASH (J. Toeroek) – slow to begin (approximately two to three lengths) and shortly after dipped. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

SWIFT TERCEL (S. Metcalfe) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and inconvenienced UTILITARIAN.

BELMONT AVENUE (IRE) (C. Tootell) - lost its off fore plate during the event.

MIDNIGHT RUSH (J. Toeroek) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

GARRIRE (T. Pannell) – on jumping away was taken in by SEPORIA onto LOVE FROM LUCY. Hung out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

NOT A BRASS RAZOO (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – on exiting the mounting yard contacted a perimeter fence and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to race. On jumping away was taken out by GADIDAE onto LOVE FROM LUCY.

GADIDAE (S. Metcalfe) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival on course which revealed a small legion over its forehead with a superficial abrasion and was deemed suitable to race. Jumped away awkwardly, shifted out taking NOT A BRASS RAZOO (NZ) out. Laid out from near the 600m for the remainder of the event.

LOVE FROM LUCY (A. Jordsjo) – on jumping away was hampered and lost its position when tightened between GARRIRE, which was taken in and NOT A BRASS RAZOO (NZ), which was taken out. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SEPORIA (K. Crowther) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted in taking GARRIRE in. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

A TOUCH FROSTY (M. Collett) –held up for clear running from inside the 500m until the entrance to the straight when racing between ORIEDOS and BURNING BRIGHT and shifted to the inside of that filly to obtain clear running.

FLIGHT DECK (NZ) (I. Lam) – shortly after jumping away was restrained and shifted in from its wide barrier. At the entrance to the straight shifted wider on the track.

BURNING BRIGHT (J. Holder) – inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

JOPHIEL (NZ) (B. Price) – slow into stride. Rider reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action on return to the mounting yard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ORIEDOS (A. Livesey) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
