IRLANDAIS (S. Fawke) – shifted out near the 500m and bumped HOWABOUTTHIS.

SWITCH HIT (H. Grace) – bumped near the 500m by HOWABOUTTHIS.

HOWABOUTTHIS (D. Caboche) – slow to begin. Near the 500m was bumped by IRLANDAIS and in turn shifted out and bumped SWITCH HIT.

WAYED'S HONOUR (K. Walters) – hung out throughout the event and proved difficult to ride. Co-trainers, Messrs B. and K. Post were advise that a warning had been placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

BOLTONOVA (D. Tourneur) – began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout the event, proved difficult to ride and as a consequence was not fully tested. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr B. Campbell, was advised that the gelding would now be required to complete either an Official Barrier Trial or Approval to Race Jump-out prior to a future race start.

WALLUNGUNDER (H. Grace) – became fractious in the parade ring, dislodged its rider and cantered riderless to the tie-up stalls. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Slow to begin.

BONANSKI (C. Tootell) – began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider explained that it was her intention to be further forward; however, due to the slow start she was unable to obtain that position. She added that she had some concerns with the gelding’s action in the later stages of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had tied up.

DR VENKMAN (H. Grace) – shifted in near the 1000m and tightened COLDENKIM in onto LE PROVOCATEUR. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding.

HASTA LA AMNESTY (K. Walters) – as the horse was unable to arrive on course by the proscribed time due to a float breakdown Stewards declared HASTA LA AMNESTY a late scratching at 12.18.

LE PROVOCATEUR (D. Tourneur) – began awkwardly. Near the 1000m was bumped by COLDENKIM.

RHINESTONE RORY (C. Murray) – hung out rounding the turn near the 400m.

ALITTLEBITAPOLLY (T. Voorham) – as the horse was unable to arrive on course by the proscribed time due to a float breakdown Stewards declared ALITTLEBITAPOLLY a late scratching at 12.18.

COLDENKIM (J. Eaton) – near the 1000m was tightened on the inside of DR VENKMAN, and as a result shifted in and bumped LE PROVOCATEUR.

MOHATMA (C. Jones) – raced keen in the middle stages of the event.

DOMINANT SUN (H. Grace) – slow to begin.

LUDO (NZ) (A. Livesey) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding raced flat and may be better suited over more ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr D. Saxon, confirmed that the gelding will now be spelled.

HUGHIE'S SPIRIT (J. Eaton) – slow to begin.

MY CRACKLING (D. Tourneur) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

SHOT AT THE NIGHT (M. Julius) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

FROSTED GLASS (S. Fawke) – passing the 500m lost ground behind SUENAMI ROSE. When questioned in relation to the performance of the mare trainer, Ms S. Murphy, stated that the mare has previously had some wind issues and on the advice of a vet the mare was given a long spell. She added that on return to work the mare has performed well in a recent jump-out and they expected a positive performance today.

NINE OF HEARTS (D. Caboche) – finished a distant last. When questioned in regards to the disappointing performance rider explained that he had some concerns with the mare’s action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr Q. Scott, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to being uncompetitive.

SANDY'S REWARD (J. Doyle) – began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

TRUSTFALL (M. Julius) – fractious in the barriers.

BORNEO (J. Eaton) – rider reported that the gelding hung in when placed under pressure in the straight.

EMMOOKI MAGIC (C. Tootell) – rider reported that the mare laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

PERSIAN EMPIRE (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – performed below market expectations. Rider explained that the gelding hung out throughout the event, and in her opinion was not suited by the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BRUNO STARS (NZ) (C. Jones) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

HONOUR THE SKILLS (L. Williams) – performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Rider / trainer, Mr L Williams, explained that the gelding raced flat and will now be spelled.

FIFTH HUSBAND (NZ) (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the gelding laid out for the majority of the event.

HASTA LA TRUCE (S. Fawke) – raced keen in the early and middle stages of the event.

PAPAS DREAM (IRE) (D. Tourneur) – near the 1700m was steadied when tightened between PRIZE LAD and BRUNO STARS (NZ).

SCOTTISH GOLD (J. Doyle) – raced wide for the majority of the event.

TINI MOTU (J. Eaton) – finished a distant last. Rider explained that in her opinion the mare did not handle today’s track conditions and may not have appreciated the step up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr J. Searle, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to being uncompetitive.

SIX DEGREES (A. Jordsjo) – hung in under pressure in the straight.

SPIN THE REWARD (C. Murray) – performed below market expectations. Rider was unable to offer any explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CRAIGLEA BLIZZARD (K. Walters) – raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

OAMARU POPPY (C. Tootell) – began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered SCOTTISH SOLDIER.

SCOTTISH SOLDIER (A. Jordsjo) – hampered at the start when OAMARU POPPY shifted out.
