Charles, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding. Laid in under pressure in the straight. LUDO (NZ) (C. Murray) – near the 150m became held up when forced in restricted room to the inside of ILLUSTRATES (NZ), which was racing greenly and shifted in. THE SILENT DEVIL (A. Lai) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in onto ALLOY. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. LITTLE ROCKET (A. Jordsjo) – fractious behind the barriers on arrival at the start. Trainer, Mr D. Hewitt, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its pre-race behaviour. Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout the event. OUT ONTARIO (J. Eaton) – hampered shortly after the start when tightened by ALLOY, which had been taken in. ALLOY (K. Crowther) – shortly after the start was hampered when tightened onto OUT ONTARIO by THE SILENT DEVIL. COSMIC RIDE (M. Nunes) – hung out under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride. FRENCH DELICACY (D. Tourneur) – near the 700m had to be checked when ILLUSTRATES (NZ) hung out into its running line. ILLUSTRATES (NZ) (B. King) – fractious behind the barriers on arrival at the start. Trainer, Ms E. Hubbard, was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly in relation to its pre-race behaviour. Hung out severely in the early stages of the event and near the 700m shifted out into the running line of FRENCH DELCIACY, which had to be checked. Raced greenly in the straight and near the 150m shifted in onto LUDO (NZ). Trainer, Ms E. Hubbard, was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly in relation to its racing manners. LIKE A DIAMOND (C. Tootell) – following the declaration of acceptances trainer, Mr J. Searle, made a gear application to add a cross-over noseband to the filly’s race gear. Stewards acceded to this request and acting under AR206(2) fined Mr Searle $200. Slow to begin. Raced greenly during the event. Near the 100m had to be momentarily steadied when OUT ONTARIO rolled in slightly. ROCKTAGON (B. Price) – fractious in its barrier after being loaded and reared over. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared ROCKTAGON a late scratching at 1.23pm. Trainer, Mr D. Jolly, was advised that the gelding would now be required to prove tractable in the barriers at an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race start. |

The start of this event was delayed approximately five minutes. NAVAL ENSIGN (NZ) (C. Murray) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. SAKASU (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight and near the 300m shifted in onto THAVMA, forcing the rider of that gelding to take hold when tightened onto SAINT BOOM, which was inconvenienced. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts when they commence to shift ground in future. THAVMA (S. Metcalfe) – near the 300m rider was forced to take hold when tightened onto SAINT BOOM by SAKASU. GREY SILVERADO (J. Holder) – in the vicinity of the 150m was forced to race in restricted room for a short distance when THE TANK shifted in, and as a result was steadied and altered course to the outside of that gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. STOLEN (J. Toeroek) – kicked by SAINT BOOM behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the off hindleg (2/5) and therefore was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared STOLEN a late scratching at 1.57pm. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr M. Hickmott, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start. Mr Hickmott was also advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its pre-race behaviour. SAINT BOOM (M. Nunes) – kicked by STOLEN behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Trainer, Mr P. Hardacre, was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly in relation to its pre-race behaviour. Near the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced when tightened onto I AM RALPH by THAVMA, which had been taken in. THE TANK (B. Price) – near the 150m shifted in onto GREY SILVERADO. MISS NARRANGA (Z. Lloyd) – fractious behind the barriers dislodging its rider and galloping free for a short distance prior to being recaptured. Returned to the barriers and shortly after dislodged its rider again, broke free and galloped for some distance. Stewards declared MISS NARRANGA on Veterinary advice at 1.57pm. Z. Lloyd was examined by the First Care Medical personnel and ruled unfit to fulfil her remaining riding engagements. Trainer, Ms S. Norton, was advised that the mare would now be required to prove tractable en route to and behind the barriers at an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race start. |

WARRANDYTE ROAD (D. Tourneur) – raced keenly in the middle stages of the event. SPEC RAIDER (A. Jordsjo) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. BENZ BARON (B. Price) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. HOSTESS SUSIE (L. Neindorf) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto GOT AN INSPIRATION (NZ). A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. SHARMA PRINCESS (NZ) (B. King) – reared on jumping away and shortly after was contacted by GOT AN INSPIRIATION (NZ), which had been taken out. In the early stages got its head up, became intractable and refused to race dislodging its rider in the vicinity of the winning post on the first occasion. Rider reported that she had been instructed to take up a forward position; however, after the mare was slow to begin and then received some interference she had found herself further back than she had hoped. She added that when the pace in the race slowed she attempted to take hold of the mare to avoid heels in front and SHARMA PRINCESS (NZ) got its head up, became extremely awkward in its action and refused to get back into stride despite her efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr L. Cadzow, was advised that the mare would now be required to prove tractable in an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race start. HOGAN (S. Metcalfe) – rider reported that it was not her intention to settle on pace in today’s event; however, after jumping away well there was no pace in the early stages of the event and the gelding found itself in that position of its own accord. |
