NORMIE NO SHOW (T. Hutchinson) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly and shortly after shifted in to take up a position closer to the running rail. At the entrance to the straight shifted in onto RELLEUM, which was momentarily steadied. Rider was reminded of her obligations under AR131(a) for careless riding.

BUSH INFLUENCE (B. Price) – shortly after the start contacted with SHIFFANY, which shifted out, and as a result B. Price became unbalanced. Rider reported that he settled further forward in the event given that the gelding commenced well with the blinkers removed for the first time.

GLACIES HEART (A. Lindsay) – hung out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that she settled further forward in the event due to the way in which the mare began.

LUVICCI (J. Doyle) – inside the 1800m was obliged to be momentarily steadied when tightened onto BORISLAV (NZ) as MOTO MOTO, which was racing keenly, shifted out. Raced wide and without cover from the 1200m.

RELLEUM (R. Milnes) – slow into stride. At the entrance to the straight was momentarily steadied as NORMIE NO SHOW shifted in. Rider reported that it was her intention to be further forward in the event; however, due to the manner in which the mare began she was obliged to settle further back.

SHIFFANY (J. Potter) – shortly after the start shifted out and contacted BUSH INFLUENCE.

SUPER INTELLIGENT (J. Holder) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto MOTO MOTO. Rider reported that the filly may not have been suited to the track conditions.

CHEF MILITAIRE (S. Payne) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

ICONIC MISSILE (S. Fawke) – slow to begin.

PENDING HEART (Z. Lloyd) – jumped away awkwardly. Inside the 100m was momentarily tightened to the inside of BAD TO THE BONE, which shifted in.

GILDED AGE (D. Tourneur) – held up for clear running from the 500m until approaching the 200m, and near the 300m, when attempting to improve to the outside of ROB THE BANK, was disappointed for a run and was obliged to shift back to the inside of that gelding to obtain clear running.

ASTROMANCER (K. Crowther) – rider could offer no explanation in relation to the mare’s performance.

BAD TO THE BONE (T. Hutchinson) – inside the 100m shifted in and tightened PENDING HEART. Shortly after shifted out and bumped BONNY IMPACT.

BONNY IMPACT (A. Livesey) – approaching the finish bumped with BAD TO THE BONE which shifted out.

LOVERBULL (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Rider reported that the filly may not have been suited to the track conditions.

ZARUBINA (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.

FRESH AIR FRED (J. Potter) – hung out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the straight.

NOT SO SHOCKING (NZ) (D. Caboche) – shortly after the start lost its position when tightened onto PERILOUS LASS as AMAZES shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TOSEN ROYALE (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the gelding made abnormal respiratory noises rounding the home turn.

KAHALA BAY (H. Yuen) – jumped away very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of KIAN, and as a result lost ground.

KIAN (S. Logan) – on jumping away shifted in and bumped with KAHALA BAY and as a result had its hindquarters turned out. Rider reported that the gelding raced greenly during the event.

VAL D’SERE (J. Toeroek) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

AMAZES (A. Lai) – on jumping away shifted out onto NOT SO SHOCKING (NZ). Rider reported that the filly raced greenly in the event.

BARYNYA (I. Lam) – on jumping away shifted in and bumped JURA VAUDOIS.

JURA VAUDOIS (D. Tourneur) – on jumping away shifted out and bumped BARYNYA.

WHYS (M. Wolanin) – jumped away awkwardly.

ZAIN PRINCE (T. Hutchinson) – jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 400m commenced to hang in and as a result the rider changed the whip to her left hand. Due to the gelding hanging in proved difficult for the rider to ride out from the entrance to the straight until approaching the 100m.

WINUSA STAR (S. Fawke) – rider reported that the gelding may not have been suited to the track conditions.

THRONE OF GOD (L. Neindorf) – rider reported that the mare may not have been suited to the track conditions.

AMBER NOOK (J. Potter) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed exercise induced ataxia. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr P. Hardacre, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

STARGENT (D. Caboche) – from the 1100m came under hard riding, failed to respond and began to lose contact with the field. From the 700m, after being ridden along for some distance, continued to lose ground and commenced to weaken and therefore the rider did not continue to ride out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Beaten 34L. Trainer, Mr C. Bieg, was advised that the gelding would now be required to prove competitive in an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race start.

HEADSMART (A. McCabe) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

JAMROCK (T. Hutchinson) – held up for clear running from the 500m until shortly after the entrance to the straight. Lost its near hind plate during the event.

MONSEAGLE (T. Voorham) – injured en route to the course. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on this advice Stewards declared MONSEAGLE a late scratching at 1.29pm. Co-trainer, Mr D. Moyle, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

COVERED CALL (C. Munro) – rider explained that it was her intention to be further forward in the event; however, given the early formation of the field, from her wide barrier position and the fast pace of the race she was elected to obtain cover as the gelding was travelling comfortably.

SASUN (R. Milnes) – lost its off hind plate during the event.

GETOUTTHEWAY (S. Metcalfe) – shortly after the start shifted in from its wide barrier.

JAMCRA (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – jumped away awkwardly.

PERSIAN EMPIRE (NZ) (S. Fawke) – rider reported that it was his intention to settle further forward in the event; however, the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages.

WEEKEND WARRIOR (Z. Lloyd) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

MORTGAGE MAN (J. Holder) – jumped away awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SPELMAN (I. Lam) – jumped away awkwardly.

VEE ROD (NZ) (D. Tourneur) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

LEBANESE TRADER (K. Crowther) – rider explained when questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the event, that she was mindful the gelding can race keenly, and therefore she was reluctant to restrain her mount in the early stages. She stated she had anticipated that LEBANESE TRADER would settle further forward in the event given the rise in distance and the inside barrier draw.

DROP THE ORANGE (J. Potter) – rider reported that the gelding may not have been suited to the track conditions.

LEADER'S PRIDE (S. Fawke) – rider reported that the gelding may not have been suited to the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MASTER OF ILLUSION (NZ) (S. Payne) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced on Saturday, 13 July 2024, and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly.

MILITARY PRESS (T. Hutchinson) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Rider explained that she settled further forward in the event after encouraging the gelding away from the barriers as it has previously been slow to begin.

FRANKIE'S ME DAD (J. Eaton) – trainer, Mr M. Hickmott, made a submission to Stewards that FRANKIE’S ME DAD be declared a late scratching due to the track downgraded. Stewards acceded to the request and declared FRANKIE’S ME DAD a late scratching at 12.20pm.

SCAMSTER (E. Finnegan) – rider reported that the gelding may not have been suited to the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BELLA KATHLEEN (C. Tootell) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.

ROAD TO BLUE SKY (NZ) (D. Tourneur) – held up for clear running approaching the 400m for some distance when racing between DIFFLIN COUNTY and LEADER’S PRIDE, which shifted about.

BLACK MARMALADE (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – jumped away awkwardly. Near the 1200m commenced a run wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

DIFFLIN COUNTY (S. Metcalfe) – shortly after jumping away was restrained. Rider reported after the gelding pre-empted the start, her barrier stall gates opened prematurely owing to the gelding contacting the gates. As a consequence, she was of the opinion a false start may have been called and therefore she restrained DIFFLIN COUNTY shortly after the start over a number of strides.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow the Stewards, Starter, S. Metcalfe (DIFFLIN COUNTY), and trainer, Ms K. Evans, to view the vision of the start. After viewing the vision S. Metcalfe made a submission that DIFFLIN COUNTY be declared a non-starter as it had gained an unfair advantage owing to its barrier stall gates opening marginally before the rest of the field. After considering the evidence, viewing the vision and acting on their own observations, Stewards determined DIFFLIN COUNTY had not gained an unfair advantage and the gelding be declared a starter.
