The start of this event was delayed approximately seven minutes.

I'M APRANCER (H. Yuen) – at the entrance to the straight rider was forced to take hold when tightened between MONEY OR THE BOX, which laid in, and TUFF OPERATOR, which shifted out and contacted the gelding.

INTO THE WOOD (NZ) (R. Milnes) – rider reported that the gelding never travelled and she had become concerned with its action in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg (1/5). Co-trainers, Mr J. Dunn and Miss K. Bishop, were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

TOORAK BLAZE (T. Voorham) – hung out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that it was not her intention to lead on the gelding; however, in the middle stages it commenced to race fiercely and obtained the lead of its own accord. She added that the gelding hung out in the straight and proved difficult to ride.

TUFF OPERATOR (C. Murray) – at the entrance to the straight shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact with I’M APRANCER, resulting in the gelding becoming unbalanced. Rider was reprimanded and advised in future to ensure he had sufficient room prior to commencing to shift ground.

CALL OUT FEE (A. Livesey) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

LOVE DUBAI (S. Fawke) – intractable in the mounting yard and proved difficult to proceed to the start. Slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider reported that the mare had become worked up pre-race, and then had not travelled comfortably throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr G. Lynch, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its pre-race manners.

MONEY OR THE BOX (S. Metcalfe) – at the entrance to the straight laid in onto I’M APRANCER, and then continued to hang in, in the straight.

DANIEL MY BROTHER (A. Livesey) – inconvenienced on jumping away when tightened between MASTER FLYNN (IRE), which shifted out, and SHIPWRECK, which shifted in. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

ICONIC MISSILE (B. Wong) – stood flat-footed and missed the start several lengths. Trainer, Mr M. McClean, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding.

MASTER FLYNN (IRE) (H. Yuen) – shifted out on jumping away onto DANIEL MY BROTHER. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SHIPWRECK (C. Tootell) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in onto DANIEL MY BROTHER.

SURVEY LANE (S. Fawke) – inclined to shift about under pressure in the straight.

DOT TO DOT (C. Munro) – jumped away awkwardly and shortly after was hampered when tightened onto WIRRINYA by LINCOLN ROSE, which shifted in.

WIRRINYA (A. Lai) – hampered on jumping away when DOT TO DOT was taken in.

LINCOLN ROSE (M. Collett) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in onto DOT TO DOT. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate.

Prior to the running of this event the First Care Medical staff on course were required to attend to a participant, resulting in an indefinite delay. All runners were returned from the mounting yard to their race-day stalls. The start of this event was rescheduled to start at 2.22pm

LION'S INSTINCT (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event; however, when placed under pressure had not let down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. Trainer, Mr B. Clarke, advised that he would recommend to owners that the gelding now be spelled.

MARINA (A. Lai) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted wider on the track. Rider reported that he had become concerned with the gelding’s action over the concluding stages and on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

REGAL ROCKET (S. Fawke) – slow to begin.

TANE TOA (NZ) (C. Murray) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

DAY FOR IT (NZ) (R. Milnes) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto JUSTAKIDD.

EXALTED TRAVELLER (B. Price) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto DAY FOR IT (NZ). Inside the 1300m attempted to buck for a few strides.

HIGHLAND ANGEL (M. Collett) – raced keenly for a short distance inside the 1000m when awkwardly placed on the heels of RIVERSIDE ROCK.

AYLLA'S PRIDE (M. Henderson) – slow to begin.

JUSTAKIDD (S. Metcalfe) – inconvenienced on jumping away when taken out onto REGAL ROCKET by DAY FOR IT (NZ). Laid out under pressure in the straight.

BARON OF BEDFORD (NZ) (C. Tootell) – had to be momentarily steadied near the 400m when RIVERSIDE ROCK shifted out slightly.

RIVERSIDE ROCK (K. Crowther) – raced keenly for a short distance in the vicinity of the 1000m when being restrained. Near the 400m shifted out slightly onto BARON OF BEDFORD (NZ), which had to be momentarily steadied. Rider reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.

MISTA RAZZLEDAZZLE (C. Murray) – slow to begin.

MR RODMAN (NZ) (S. Payne) – in the vicinity of the 350m slipped behind for no apparent reason. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

KNICKPOINT (S. Fawke) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PRETENTIOUS DIVA (A. Lindsay) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, when placed under pressure near the 400m failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing.

BAD MOON RISING (A. Lai) – slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SON OF AKEED (T. Voorham) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

JONQUEST (S. Payne) – slow to begin.

STRAWBERRY SWING (Z. Lloyd) – hung out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the straight.

TYDEUS (S. Metcalfe) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting KOVA. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SHAME FOR FAME (H. Yuen) – slow to begin.

EFFORTKAT (R. Milnes) – inside the 200m was disappointed when attempting a tight run to the inside of STRAWBERRY SWING, and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear ground.

ALCANNABIE (K. Crowther) – jumped away awkwardly.

KOVA (M. Collett) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in contacting TYDEUS. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

THE ART OF FLYING (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

ENBARR (M. Henderson) – Stewards permitted M. Henderson to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allocated weight of 54.5kg.

SUPER VALENTINE (S. Metcalfe) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

HOUSE SPOUSE (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – passing the winning post on the first occasion was forced to race in restricted room for a short distance between FUNNY LEGS and DIAMONDS ARE, which was taken in slightly by I NEED A DRINK.
