JACKSON RUN (S. Fawke) – slow to begin. Hung in under pressure in the straight.

LORD AVINGTON (D. Caboche) – weakened from near the 200m. Rider could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SUN OF OAKBANK (S. Metcalfe) – slow to begin.

LOVE YOU BELLE (R. Milnes) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Bordertown on Friday, 13 September 2024, and was deemed suitable to start. Raced wide in the early stages of the event and near the 1000m was permitted to stride forward and take up a position in the lead.

EXTRA BOUNCE (B. Price) – acting on confirmed advice from co-trainer, Ms O. MacGillivray, that the filly had injured itself and was unsuitable to start Stewards declared EXTRA BOUNCE a late scratching at 9.30am. Ms MacGillivray was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

FINE FUTURE (JPN) (J. Opperman) – on jumping away bumped with HOLPIN. Shifted about under pressure in the straight.

GOONSUN (K. Crowther) – shortly after the start was restrained in an attempt to gain cover. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

HOLPIN (S. Logan) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped FINE FUTURE (JPN). Hung in under pressure in the straight and near the 200m shifted in onto RUSCHEYNE, which was weakening and was obliged to be momentarily steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RUSCHEYNE (B. King) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in taking BARBADIAN BABE in. Approaching the 200m was momentarily steadied as HOLPIN, which was hanging in, shifted in.

THE BIG CHUNK (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly.

BARBADIAN BABE (D. Tourneur) – on jumping away was taken in by RUSCHEYNE. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

GIN RUMMY (J. Potter) – shortly after the start was buffeted between FINE FUTURE (JPN) and LICHEN LASS.

LICHEN LASS (B. Price) – near the 250m dipped.

SAZERAC (Z. Lloyd) – passing the 300m had difficulty obtaining clear ground for a number of strides.

SOFTLY BLACK (M. Collett) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped WHISKERS HARBOUR (NZ). Raced keenly and wide without cover throughout the event.

WHISKERS HARBOUR (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – on jumping away bumped with SOFTLY BLACK.

EMBER FLAME (S. Mitchell) – approaching the 200m was obliged to alter course to the outside of the heels of RUSCHEYNE, which was momentarily steadied.

COLORADO BULLDOG (D. Caboche) – slow to begin.

HECS DEBT (T. Pannell) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly.

THAMOKEE (J. Doyle) – shortly after the start lost its position when tightened onto VELVET GEM by KOOL ‘N’ CLASSY, which was taken in. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Hung out under pressure in the straight.

TOTTORI (J. Toeroek) – slow into stride.

FLYING YANK (NZ) (F. Atkinson) – near the 300m rolled out onto VELVET GEM. Rider reported that the mare raced greenly throughout the event.

I'M PAMPERED (S. Metcalfe) – shortly after the start shifted in onto KOOL ‘N’ CLASSY, which was taken in onto THAMOKEE, which lost its position. Rider was reminded of her obligations under AR131(a) and advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

KOOL 'N' CLASSY (S. Fawke) – shortly after the start was taken in onto THAMOKEE by I’M PAMPERED, which shifted in.

VELVET GEM (L. Neindorf) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight and near the 300m was inconvenienced when TOTTORI improved quickly to its outside and FLYING YANK, which was racing greenly, rolled out.

HELLABALOU (B. Price) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and was awkwardly placed on the heels of MARGIN OF ERROR. Rider reported that the filly did not feel comfortable in its action from near the 250m, and for this reason he elected not to ride HELLABALOU out in his normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

THE POSTIE (R. Milnes) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer, Mr G. Kluske, was advised that as this was the mare’s first bi-lateral bleed THE POSTIE would now be suspended from racing for a period of three months in accordance with AR79(4) and would be required to have the gelding reinstated in accordance with AR79(4)(b) prior to a future race.

ARTICULATING (S. Payne) – rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(b) and advised to ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the finish.

CASBOURG (D. Caboche) – slow to begin. Shortly after the start was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on heels when taken in by DREAMS FULFILLED.

EL EXPLOSIVO (C. Tootell) – slow to begin approximately 1-2 lengths. Over-raced in the early stages.

GINGER SINNER (J. Toeroek) – rider explained that the gelding did not stretch out when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ALL TOO MYSTI (L. Neindorf) – at the entrance to the straight bumped with SCANDALIST, which shifted out to improve. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

SAYITONLYONCE (G. Catania) – hung in over the final 100m of the event.

SCANDALIST (J. Opperman) – jumped away awkwardly. At the entrance to the straight shifted out to improve and bumped ALL TOO MYSTI.

SHALHAVMUSIK (B. Price) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted in onto DREAMS FULFILLED. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

DREAMS FULFILLED (A. Lai) – slow to begin and shortly after was taken in onto CASBOURG by SHALHAVMUSIK. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. When questioned in relation to the gelding’s performance trainer, Mr A. Gluyas, explained that the gelding had progressed nicely in the stable this preperation and after a positive trial in the lead up to this event the stable were expecting a forward performance.

MYSTIC WONDER (D. Tourneur) – jumped away awkwardly. Rider explained that the filly travelled well in the event; however, failed to let down as he had anticipated and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TAMETOMO (NZ) (T. Voorham) – shortly after the entrance to the straight hung in. Rider reported that the gelding was not suited to the rise in distance and weight in this event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SANTELMO FUEGO (S. Fawke) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Mindarie-Halidon on Sunday, 15 September 2024, and was deemed suitable to start. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 21 September 2024 and to conclude midnight Wednesday, 25 September 2024, a period of two meetings. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by S. Fawke and noted that he used it on ten occasions over the final 100m of the event.

STAYING STRONG (D. Caboche) – slow into stride. Shortly after the entrance to the straight was disappointed for a run between PROJECT GUTENBERG (NZ) and TAMETOMO (NZ), which was hanging in and shifted in, and as a result STAYING STRONG was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running.

SESAR (B. Price) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Donald on Saturday, 14 September 2024 and was deemed suitable to start.

ENRICO PALLAZZO (J. Potter) – shortly after the start shifted in, in an attempt to obtain cover. Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 300m. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(b) in riding his mounts out to the finish of the race.

PROJECT GUTENBERG (NZ) (B. King) – change of tactics – rider instructed to set a solid pace in the lead.

BORISLAV (NZ) (R. Milnes) – held up for clear running near the 350m for a short distance. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

FLAMBARD (T. Pannell) – held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight, and near the 300m was disappointed when attempting the same run as GRUELLING and was obliged to shift out in an attempt to gain clear running near the 200m.

HYPERNOVA (K. Crowther) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages when being restrained. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

NANKEEN (D. Tourneur) – jumped away awkwardly. Rider was reminded of his obligations under AR131(b) in riding his mounts out fully to the finish of the race.

LION'S INSTINCT (M. Collett) – slow to begin. Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 250m.

PROBATE (T. Voorham) – sprung its off fore plate en route to the barriers and required farrier attention. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start.

FLYING D'AMORE (L. Neindorf) – rider explained that the mare jumped away well; however, when asked for an effort from shortly after entering the straight failed to let down as he had anticipated and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

NOITULOVER (J. Opperman) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, failed to let down as he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

GRUELLING (J. Holder) – held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until near the 300m, and thereafter hung in for some distance and proved difficult to ride for the remainder of the event.

MINTULEE (T. Johnstone) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

THE STING (M. Wolanin) – jumped away awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

OUR SELECTION (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had not raced in nearly twelve months and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and shortly after clipped the heels of TRULY ELSA, dipped, and as a result the rider became unbalanced.

BEAUTY BOUND (K. Crowther) –difficulty obtaining clear running from the entrance to the straight until near the 300m. Laid in over the final 100m of the event.

PRETTY RELIABLE (NZ) (J. Holder) – jumped away awkwardly.
