Entrance to the straight was taken wider by NURYS which shifted out. Rider reported that her instructions were to settle further forward in the event, however given the way in which the mare began was unable to comply with this. EXALTED JOY (J. Toeroek) – acting on confirmed advice from trainer, Mr T. Cowan, that the mare had swelling in its hind legs and would therefore be unsuitable to start, Stewards declared EXALTED JOY a late scratching at 9.50am. Mr Cowan was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start. NURYS (C. Tootell) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course as it had raced at Strathalbyn on Sunday, 19 May 2024, and was deemed suitable to start. At the entrance to the straight shifted out taking EMME’S SECRET wider. Rider explained in relation to the mare’s performance that it might not have handled the back up from racing on Sunday, would benefit from racing over further distances, and possibly an adjustment to its gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. REVOLUTION BELLE (C. Munro) – inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight. |

Caboche) – jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. PENDING HEART (A. Lindsay) – shortly after the start was restrained when awkwardly placed on the heels of I TELL YA WHAT. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. ZION'S GATE (C. Jones) – near the 200m shifted in under riding onto SOFTLY BLACK, which was momentarily steadied when tightened onto TOTEMO HAYAI. Rider was severely reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) and advised to take greater care in future. HIGH ON SUGAR (K. Crowther) – hung out from the 600m and proved difficult for its rider to fully ride out. HONDURAS (D. Tourneur) – jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Inside the 400m shifted in onto BORISLAY (NZ), which was obliged to be momentarily eased. Rider was reminded of his obligations, under AR131(a), when shifting ground in future. The start of this event was delayed approximately four minutes. MATEO (J. Eaton) – shortly after the start was inconvenienced when tightened between SHAMPAS and OUT ONTARIO which rolled in. Laid in under pressure in the straight. rider reported that the gelding choked down passing the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. IDRACOWRA (M. Collett) – on jumping away bumped MAHI MAHI which shifted in. MAHI MAHI (A. Livesey) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped IDRACOWRA. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. OUT ONTARIO (J. Potter) – shortly after the start rolled in and away from IDRACOWRA onto MATE which was inconvenienced. Difficulty obtaining clear ground from near the 200m until the finish when racing between KINDRA PARK and MAHI MAHI and the filly proved reluctant to improve into that run. PRESTO DENARO (K. Crowther) – proved difficult to load. Co-trainer, Mr D. Moyle, was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly. Raced greenly throughout the event and near the 700m shifted out and away from the heels of KINDRA PARK. SHAMPAS (S. Metcalfe) – hung out under pressure in the straight. SNOW ANGELS (A. Lindsay) – hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer, Mr J. Macmillan, reported that the filly lost its tongue-tie during the event. STAR SIRIUS (J. Toeroek) – shortly after the start was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of MATEO. SUMAMBISTARR (P. Brewster) – raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight and laid in over the concluding stages. TRUPTICON (A. Lai) – refused to load. Stewards declared TRUPTICON a late scratching at 1.58pm. Trainer, Mr D. Nolan, was advised that the filly would now be required to load without delay in an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race start. WADAANA (F. Approaching the 1400m shifted in onto LINES OF GLORY, which was being restrained and got its head up when over racing. SOUTHERN SHOOTER (D. Tourneur) – over-raced in the early and middle stages. Inside the 200m, when improving quickly to the outside of LINES OF GLORY, shifted in onto that gelding, which was obliged to alter course to the outside of the heels of SOUTHERN SHOOTER. Rider was severely reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) and was advised to take greater care when his mounts shift ground in future. BARDOUTES (C. Jones) – rider explained in relation to the gelding’s performance that it did not feel comfortable in its action during the event. BURNING BRIGHT (J. Holder) – rider reported that it was not his intention to lead the event; however, given the way the filly commenced and the early formation of the field he elected to obtain a position in the lead rather than restraining the filly. SHUT THAT D'OR (S. Fawke) – shortly after the start was restrained and shifted in, in an attempt to gain cover. Near the 150m altered course to the inside of LINES OF GLORY. FANTASTIC HOST (D. Caboche) – slow into stride. Held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 400m. DEVINE ASSASSIN (P. Brewster) – jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until inside the 100m. LINES OF GLORY (A. Opperman) – near the 600m contacted the running rail, became awkward in its action and shifted out onto IMPERIAL SEAL, which was inconvenienced when taken wider. Difficulty obtaining clear ground from approaching the 400m until inside the 200m. ZOUTONS (E. Finnegan) – laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer, Mr T. Montgomerie, was advised that as this was the gelding’s first bi-lateral bleed ZOUTONS would now be suspended from racing for a period of three months in accordance with AR79(4) and would be required to gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward prior to accepting for a future trial or race. NOVUS ACTUS (J. Potter) – near the 100m was obliged to alter course to the inside of IMPERIAL SEAL, which was laying out. CORK HARBOUR (B. Price) – near the 600m was tightened between KUBLAI, which was hanging in, and IMPERIAL SEAL, which was inconvenienced when taken out by FAMOUS KNIGHT. As a result CORK HARBOUR was steadied and lost its position. |

CHOSEN MISS (T. Hutchinson) – on jumping away lost its position when tightened between DINGABLEDINGA and TRANSZAM, which shifted out. Rider explained in relation to the mare’s performance that the instructions provided to her were the same as at previous starts, namely, to settle at the rear and be patient. She added she was able settle at the rear of the field as anticipated and the mare travelled well during the event. She stated in hindsight she should have placed CHOSEN MISS into the race sooner by encouraging it to improve near the 1000m and trail SESAR which had commence its run in a three wide position. She stated when placed under pressure CHOSEN MISS failed to let down as she had expected and done so at her previous starts. She added that the mare felt comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. RIPPLE EFFECT (NZ) (J. Doyle) – jumped away very awkwardly and unbalanced its rider. Over-raced and got its head up on a number of occasions when being restrained in the early and middle stages. Near the 1700m was awkwardly placed on the heels of LEADER’S PRIDE for some distance. Hung in under pressure in the straight. SESAR (B. Price) – from the 1100m raced wide without cover. TRANSZAM (R. Milnes) – jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto CHOSEN MISS. LEADER'S PRIDE (S. Fawke) – change of tactics – attempt to settle back of midfield to allow the gelding to finish off the event – settled back of midfield. Shortly after the start shifted in, in an attempt to take up a position with cover and closer to the rail. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
