OLI ALPINE (S. Fawke) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, laid out rounding the home turn and raced flat for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CRACKLING ROYALE (W. Cave) – hung out rounding the home turn.

SPECTAUR (P. Brewster) – laid out in the straight.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

FRESH AIR FRED (B. King) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, hung out rounding the home turn and only travelled fairly for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ME NAME'S HARRY (D. Gillett) – hung in, in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LUCKY DOG (J. Doyle) – approaching the 300m laid out hampering STAKE A CLAIM and taking that gelding out off its course. Near the 200m was brushed by STAKE A CLAIM, which shifted in slightly.

SHAME FOR FAME (P. Brewster) – stood flat-footed. Trainer, Mr B. Davis, was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare. Laid out rounding the home turn.

SHIPWRECK (I. Lam) – rider explained that the gelding was off the bridle from the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

STAKE A CLAIM (S. Fawke) – approaching the 300m was hampered and taken off its course by LUCKY DOG, which laid out. Near the 200m shifted in slightly and brushed LUCKY DOG. Laid in, in the straight.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow J. Doyle (LUCKY DOG), placed third, to view the vision in the straight.

MY BOY JETT (P. Brewster) – raced greenly in the straight.

JAMCRA (NZ) (T. Hutchinson) – jumped away awkwardly.

REGAL ROCKET (S. Fawke) – Rider explained the gelding travelled well in the event; however, was off the bridle from the 300m and was disappointing to the finish. Stewards questioned S. Fawke in relation to his tactics in today’s event. He explained that his instructions were to attempt to settle in a better than midfield position. He added that REGAL ROCKET began well, and as there was a lack of early speed in the race he found himself in a more forward position than he had intended. Trainer, Mr G. Lynch, confirmed the instructions and stated that he was satisfied with S. Fawke’s ride on the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MAVEN MISSILE (C. Munro) – rider explained that the gelding travelled well in the event; however, when asked for an effort in the straight did not respond to her riding. She added that in her opinion MAVEN MISSILE did not handle today’s track conditions.

CHEF DE MISSION (B. King) – slow to begin. Near the 350m was obliged to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of DAVEEDO, which commenced to give ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). First aid administered. Trainer, Mr B. Jones, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

KNICKPOINT (T. Hutchinson) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event.

ROCKFORD FILES (J. Doyle) – slow to begin.

DAVEEDO (W. Cave) – rider was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
