MANDINO (C. Jones) – over raced in the early and middle stages.

MOTO MOTO (D. Tourneur) – passing the 200m shifted out whilst being ridden along. Near the 100m continued to shift out and as a result SUPER INTELLIGENT had to be checked to avoid the gelding’s heels. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Wednesday, 31 July 2024 and to conclude midnight Friday, 9 August 2024, a period of three meetings. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account D. Tourneur’s record and his guilty plea.

BUSH INFLUENCE (B. Price) – raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up for clear running between the 500m and near the 300m.

RELLEUM (J. Potter) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts over the mare’s medial near hind fetlock and also to be lame in the near hind leg and off foreleg (2/5). First aid administered. Trainer, Mr B. Potter was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

AMAZES (A. Lai) – raced wide without cover throughout. Gave ground quickly in the straight. Rider could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SUPER INTELLIGENT (C. Munro) – held up from near the 400m until near the 200m. Approaching the 100m was checked to avoid the heels of MOTO MOTO, which shifted out under pressure.

QUANAH (A. Livesey) – rider reported that the gelding raced greenly throughout.

STEALTH INVADER (J. Potter) – raced keenly in the early stages.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED (J. Opperman) – laid out rounding the home turn.

WADAANA (T. Voorham) – performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg (1/5). Trainer, Mr C. Bieg was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

TUFF OPERATOR (C. Munro) - slow to begin (four lengths). Near the 150m was hampered and taken out off its course by ZOUNORMOUS, which shifted out to avoid the heels of BONNY IMPACT, which was giving ground quickly.

ZOUNORMOUS (H. Yuen) – near the 150m shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of BONNY IMPACT, which was giving ground quickly.

BONNY IMPACT (A. Livesey) – performed below market expectations. Rider reported that the filly had to do quite a lot of work in the early stages to obtain the lead and she believed this was detrimental to BONNY IMPACT’s chances today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

AVANZO (K. Crowther) – near the 1000m when racing greenly shifted out abruptly and took MONDELLO out off its course.

MONDELLO (S. Metcalfe) – near the 1000m was hampered and taken out off its course by AVANZO, which shifted out abruptly when racing greenly.

WILD INFERENCE (S. Payne) – hampered near the 1000m by MONDELLO, which in turn had been taken out by AVANZO. Stewards questioned Trainer, Ms J. Streets in relation to the gelding’s improved performance and she explained that WILD INFERENCE was first up for the stable today and in an attempt to improve its form, the stable added blinkers and a tongue tie to its gear and also believe that it may have benefited from the training routine employed by the stable. She added that she had no great expectations for the gelding performing well today and was quite surprised by the way WILD INFERENCE finish off the event. Stewards noted Ms Streets explanation.

MAVEN MISSILE (C. Munro) – gave ground quickly in the straight. Rider could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BLACK MARMALADE (NZ) (Z. Lloyd) – hung out rounding the home turn.

BORISLAV (NZ) (C. Murray) – hung in round the home turn and in the straight. Near the 200m shifted in when hanging in and made contact with JOPHIEL (NZ). Rider reported that he permitted the gelding to stride forward near the 1000m in an attempt to improve due to the slow tempo of the event.

JOPHIEL (NZ) (J. Potter) – near the 200m was hampered when bumped by BORISLAV (NZ), which shifted in when hanging in.

WHYS (W. Wolanin) – late scratching by order of the Stewards at 7.45am acting on confirmed advice from Trainer, Mr T. Day that the gelding had mucus in its nose and was deemed unsuitable to race. Trainer, Mr Day was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

ROCKBARTON ROAD (S. Fawke) - began awkwardly.

THE CASSINI (C. Jones) – raced erratically throughout the event. Near the 1400m when being steadied off the heels of INORDINATE, got its head up and shifted out abruptly. Rider reported, in her opinion, the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing.

PETERZANO (S. Metcalfe) – rider reported that the gelding raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.

LINES OF GLORY (A. Jordsjo) – fractious in the barriers before the start was affected and as a result began awkwardly.

JUSTICA'S BONUS (S. Metcalfe) – began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered NASDANA. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

VOLTAGE POINT (J. Toeroek) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

BLIXTEN (S. Fawke) - late scratching by order of the Stewards at 9.30am after Trainer, Mr G. Lynch advised that the gelding’s Thoroughbred Identification Card, which was required prior to BLIXTEN’s start today had not arrived and he was not in possession of the card.

BENE MAGIC (C. Murray) - following the declaration of acceptances Trainer, Mr A. Clarken made a gear application to remove blinkers from the filly’s race gear. Stewards acceded to this request and acting under AR206(2) fined Mr Clarken $200.

BERKINSON (T. Hutchinson) – lost its near fore plate during the event.

SHEZ BETTY (A. Livesey) – hampered at the start by NASDANA, which was taken out by JUSTICA'S BONUS, which had begun awkwardly and shifted out.

NASDANA (R. Milnes) – hampered at the start and was taken out by JUSTICA'S BONUS, which had begun awkwardly and shifted out.

CHELSEA CUBE (H. Yuen) – began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered WEE DRAM. Laid out and raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

WEE DRAM (S. Fawke) – hampered at the start by CHELSEA CUBE, which began awkwardly and shifted out.

ODDSOCK (M. Collett) – lost its near hind plate during the event. Rider reported the mare, in her opinion, did not handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
