The start of this event was delayed approximately three minutes owing to GOOCHEE GAL refusing to proceed to the start.

CLASSY CLARET (J. Holder) – hung out from near the 600m until the entrance to the straight. Rider reported that that gelding raced greenly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KIKKULI (K. Crowther) – slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the colt raced greenly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MAGIC MARINER (T. Johnstone) – rider explained that the gelding raced very greenly. Trainer, Mr A. Gluyas advised that on return to his stable the gelding had pulled up well with no abnormalities and would continue in its preparation.

MATINO (S. Fawke) - jumped away awkwardly.

GOOCHEE GAL (A. Livesey) – refused to proceed to the start. Stewards declared GOOCHEE GAL a late scratching at 12:21pm. Co-trainers, Mr G. and Mr D. Alexander were advised that a warning had been placed on the filly in relation to its pre-race manners.

LITTLE PRINCESS (B. Price) – dipped on jumping away. Inclined to shift about under pressure in the straight.

DIXIE WHISTLER (A. Livesey) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

CALL ME VEXATIOUS (D. Tourneur) – rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 250m.

STORMSARRIVED (T. Childs) – lost its near fore plate and had to be re-shod on arrival the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SESAR (B. Price) - jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Trainer, Mr D. Saxon reported that, in his opinion, the gelding choked down during the event.

BORISLAV (NZ) (R. Milnes) – rider accidentally dropped her whip near the 250m.

MASTER EIGHT (T. Johnstone) – jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 200m shifted in under riding onto OCEAN REWARD, which had to be steadied. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to straighten her mounts sooner when they commence to shift ground.

KLABEL (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

OCEAN REWARD (B. Price) – approaching the 200m had to be steadied when MASTER EIGHT shifted in and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

HOWL (J. Holder) – slow to begin. Inside the 200m was disappointed when attempting a run between QEYAADY, which shifted out slightly and HALLSTATT, which shifted in and as a result the rider had to take hold and alter course to obtain clear ground.

JEAN VALJEAN (T. Pannell) – shifted out on jumping away and brushed HALLSTATT.

ZUFASTA (B. Price) – slow to begin. Near the 100m was inclined to lay out and became awkwardly placed on the heels of LOTZA BUBBLES for a short distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

QEYAADY (T. Bull) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Inside the 200m shifted out marginally onto HOWL.

HALLSTATT (M. Chadwick) – shifted in on jumping away and brushed JEAN VALJEAN. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Inside the 200m shifted in onto HOWL. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to straighten his mounts sooner when they commence to shift ground.

BACK ME UP BENNY (T. Voorham) – rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, however, when asked for an effort failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

AUTUMN COLOURS (J. Holder) – when Stewards questioned the rider in relation to his riding in the straight, in particular, when approaching the 200m until inside the 150m, rider explained that the mare was once paced, inclined to lay in and was not responding to his riding. He added that he was aware of runners racing around him, which were shifting ground slightly. He further added that due to it laying in and not responding, he elected to change his whip use to his left hand and after doing so, AUTUMN COLOURS responded moderately and beat home runners to his inside, which where weakening. Stewards noted his explanation.

RAW GRUNT (D. Tourneur) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SASQUALAH (J. Toeroek) – rider explained that the mare travelled well in the early stages; however, did not let down in the straight as anticipated and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

STRATUM PRIDE (A. Livesey) – held up from near the 500m and then had difficulty obtaining clear ground until inside the 200m.

MAIDEN FLIGHT (M. Collett) – when Stewards questioned the rider in relation to her riding particularly in the early stages of the event, rider explained that she had been instructed to be positive early but not lead. She added that after jumping away well, she formed the view that she was going to be caught three wide without cover throughout the event and for this reason elected to ease her mount in an attempt to obtain cover behind STRETFORD END. She further added that after easing, the mare got its head up, over reacted and lost ground quicker than she had anticipated and as a result found herself much further back than she had hoped. Stewards noted her explanation.

STRETFORD END (J. Potter) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minutes to avoid a clash with an interstate event.

AIR ASSAULT (T. Johnstone) – laid out under pressure in the straight and approaching the 200m commenced to shift out onto DANISH FORTUNE until approaching the 100m. Rider was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to make an effort to straighten her mounts when they commence to shift ground. Rider explained that the gelding travelled well throughout the event; however, failed to respond to her riding when placed under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PUDDING (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – hampered and lost its position on jumping away when tightened between TEST THE LAW, which shifted in and DISAGREEABLE MISS, which shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting signs of the thumps and to also be lame in the off hind leg (1/5). Co-trainers, Mr R. & Ms C. Jolly were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race.

DANISH FORTUNE (T. Voorham) – approaching the 100m was forced to take hold and lost its position when tightened between AIR ASSAULT, which shifted out and TEST THE LAW, which had been taken in by BAMYAN BUDDHA.

TEST THE LAW (J. Opperman) – forced to race in restricted room from near the 200m and then approaching the 100m was taken in onto DANISH FORTUNE by BAMYAN BUDDHA.

BAMYAN BUDDHA (M. Collett) – raced keenly in the early stages whilst being restrained. Laid out over the concluding 200m of the event. Inclined to shift about under pressure in the straight. Approaching the 100m shifted in onto TEST THE LAW, which was taken in onto DANISH FORTUNE. Rider was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised, in future, to make a greater effort to keep her mounts straight. Rider reported that the gelding laid out rounding the home turn.

Correct weight was delayed to allow rider, T. Voorham (DANISH FORTUNE), placed fifth, to view the vision in the straight.

PROVEN CORRECT (T. Johnstone) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

ENCIPHERING (A. Livesey) – raced wide without cover throughout the event.

HIGH FIVE (NZ) (T. Pannell) – raced wide without cover throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MERCHANT BOSS (B. Price) – raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Made the turn near the 900m awkwardly and shifted wider on the track. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

FREE VINO (M. Chadwick) – rider explained that it was not his intention to lead the event; however, after jumping away well he found himself in that position. He added that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages; however, was under pressure near the 600m and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MADISON KATE (T. Bull) – had difficulty obtaining clear ground for a short distance inside the 200m.

MISS REMSKI (C. Murray) – rubbed both hips in its float en route to course. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice MISS REMSKI was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 3:05pm.

DAWNBURST (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from near the 400m until near the 200m.

PRETENTIOUS LASS (R. Milnes) – raced fiercely in the early and middle stages of the event.
