CUBAN LORD (A. Lai) – laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that used his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $200. In determining penalty Stewards had regard for the totality of the use of the whip by A. Lai and noted that he used it on two occasion over the final 100m of the event.

KETCHIKAN (A. Livesey) – near the 1600m was permitted to stride forward from the rear of the field by its rider to take up a position in the lead.

SPEC RAIDER (A. Jordsjo) – rider reported that the mare may not have been suited by the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

DARING DECISION (A. Lai) – on jumping away bumped with KORATORA. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

EIGHTY NINE BELOW (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SURPRISE PENDING. Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 300m. Laid in for the remainder of the event.

MON AMI (L. Neindorf) – near the 900m shifted in onto BENDING AWAY.

OPPORTUNE CHANCE (M. Nunes) – near the 900m had its hindquarters turned in as it bumped with MY RICH BOY.

SHAMPAS (S. Metcalfe) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to start. Rider reported that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action, and for this reason she did not ride it out in her normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

TERRITORIAN (J. Potter) – approaching the finish raced in restricted room between MON AMI and SURPRISE PENDING, and was not tested to the line.

BELLENTIA (M. Collett) – turned its head as the start was effected and as a result jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the entrance to the straight until near the 300m where it shifted out to obtain clear running.

BENDING AWAY (K. Crowther) – near the 900m shifted in and away from MON AMI onto MY RICH BOY. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg (2/5). Co-trainers, Mr W. Clarken and Mr N. O’Shea, were advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

KORATORA (D. Tourneur) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped DARING DECISION.

SURPRISE PENDING (A. Jordsjo) – on jumping away bumped with EIGHTY NINE BELOW. Near the 100m dipped.

MY RICH BOY (B. Price) – near the 900m was obliged to be steadied and lost its position when tightened onto OPPORTUNE CHANCE and bumped the hindquarters of that mare as BENDING AWAY shifted in and away from MON AMI. Rider reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow M. Collett (BELLENTIA) to view the vision of the start.

CRACKEN GOOD TIME (M. Heagney) – hung in throughout the event.

HOPEFUL HEART (J. Opperman) – slow to begin.

I AIN'T CHICKEN (J. Doyle) – raced greenly in the straight.

PENDING HEART (S. Payne) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped ALL TOO MYSTI. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

DARK'N'STORMY (M. Collett) – acting on advice from stable representative, Mrs E. Knowles, that the mare was lame in the off hind leg and would be unsuitable to start Stewards declared DARK’N’STORMY a late scratching at 10.15am. Mrs Knowles was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

FLYING YANK (Z. Lloyd) – acting on advice from trainer, Mr J. Hyam, that the mare had mucous from its nostrils and would be unsuitable to start Stewards declared FLYING YANK a late scratching at 8.35am. Mr Hyam was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

JUSTA STAR (T. Johnstone) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100m and was suspended from riding in races for a period of two meetings. Stewards ordered that this suspension be served directly following the expiry of her existing suspension, and would commence midnight Saturday, 16 November 2024 and conclude midnight Friday, 22 November 2024.

SIR AALI (K. Crowther) – inside the 100m was obliged to alter course to the outside of the heels of CRACKEN GOOD TIME, which commenced to weaken.

ALL TOO MYSTI (L. Neindorf) – on jumping away bumped with PENDING HEART. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

HEADPHONES (Z. Lloyd) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

SCANDALIST (J. Opperman) – shortly after jumping away raced in restricted room between HAYAI MESU and PIWHANE. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

SUGGESTIVE MISS (T. Johnstone) – held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until near the 400m.

HAYAI MESU (T. Pannell) – raced wide and without cover in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

PIWHANE (M. Collett) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

RED ROOF (D. Tourneur) – trainer, Ms K. Evans, made a submission to Stewards that RED ROOF be a late scratching due to the track upgrade. Stewards acceded to the request and declared RED ROOF a late scratching at 2.22pm.

POUVOIR DE SOIE (J. Potter) – inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes.

BRAZANO (J. Potter) – on jumping away bumped with MANUKA BAY (NZ).

IN LOVE (A. Jordsjo) – rider reported that the filly may not have been suited to the track conditions.

HEY MIKKI (E. Finnegan) – rider was reminded of her obligations under AR131(b) to ensure she rides her mounts out fully to the finish. Rider reported that the mare may not have been suited to today’s track conditions.

RIVER CLYDE (A. Livesey) – trainer, Mr B. Campbell, made a submission to Stewards that RIVER CLYDE be a late scratching due to the track upgrade. Stewards acceded to the request and declared RIVER CLYDE a late scratching at 3.25pm.

CINCHONA (M. Heagney) – over-raced in the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.

JIMMYS EDGE (D. Tourneur) – trainer, Ms K. Evans, made a submission to Stewards that JIMMYS EDGE be a late scratching due to the track upgrade. Stewards acceded to the request and declared JIMMYS EDGE a late scratching at 2.22pm.

TEQUILA SUNSET (A. Lai) – raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

MANUKA BAY (NZ) (M. Collett) – became fractious in its barrier after being loaded and got its leg up. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to start. Jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BRAZANO.

FLEURIEU FLIPPER (M. Nunes) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HIT THE SLOPES. Held up for clear running from the 400m until near the 200m. Near the 100m had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance. Inside the 100m was accidentally struck on the nose by the whip of J. Potter.

BANGERANG REDBACK (S. Payne) – rider explained that the gelding raced plain in the event and may not have been suited to the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg (2/5). Trainer, Mr G. Lynch, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

DRAGONFACE (A. Lai) – jumped away awkwardly. Laid out from near the 200m. Rider reported that the gelding travelled well during the event; however, failed to let down as he had anticipated and was disappointing to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RUN ON (NZ) (S. Metcalfe) – Stewards questioned trainer, Ms P. Trenwith, in relation to the gelding’s performance. She explained that similar to its race start at Balaklava on 2 October 2024 the gelding is best suited to running on firm tracks, and also rising in distance in this event was favourable and she expected a forward performance.

SPEAKEASY (J. Holder) – held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until inside the 100m.

HIT THE SLOPES (J. Doyle) – on jumping away bumped with FLEURIEU FLIPPER, which shifted in. Disappointed for a run near the 200m between DRAGONFACE and BANGERANG REDBACK. Held up for clear running from the 400m until inside the 200m where it shifted in to obtain clear running.

PLASIR (Z. Lloyd) – required to be resaddled on arrival at the barriers. Raced keenly during the event. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

EFFORT (A. Livesey) – over-raced in the early and middle stages.

SOLAR MIST (J. Holder) – laid in under pressure in the straight and inside the 100m shifted in and away from SIR PANAMA onto ENLIST, which was obliged to alter course to its outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ENLIST (A. Jordsjo) – inside the 100m was obliged to alter course to the outside of SOLAR MIST, which shifted in and away from SIR PANAMA.

FAMOUS PRINCE (M. Nuenes) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped RIPPA BUZZ. Hung out rounding the home turn.

ABIT RATTLEY (S. Payne) – following a report received from the Compliance Insurance Officer, who had undertaken a routine inspection on race morning of the stables of trainer J. Streets and after considering her explanation, Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that ABIT RATTLEY had not received treatment within one clear day of the race. Acting under AR254(2) Stewards declared ABIT RATTLEY a late scratching at 9.41am and advised Ms Streets that an inquiry into this matter would be adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.

SPELMAN (B. Price) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was deemed suitable to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg (1/5). Trainer, Mr M. Lewis, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race start.

RIPPA BUZZ (J. Eaton) – jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped FAMOUS PRINCE and as a result was slow into stride. Rider reported that the gelding was not suited to the track conditions.
