TEN COMMANDMENTS (A. Livesey) – slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages.

STOKOMO (J. Toeroek) – laid out over the final 100m. Rider reported that the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

LEGACY ROSE (J. Eaton) – rider reported that the mare, when placed under pressure on straightening, did not respond to her riding as anticipated and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

ANNIE'S ROSE (R. Milnes) – laid out approaching the finish.

SHARENDIPITY (T. Johnstone) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race. Fractious in its barrier and became cast. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg (2/5) and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice Stewards withdrew SHARENDIPITY at 12:18pm. Trainer, Mr C. Reardon was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to a future jump-out, trial or race and that the gelding was now required to prove tractable in an Official Barrier Trial prior to a future race.

ZARKANA (K. Crowther) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

CANDY IN MIAMI (G. Catania) - slow to begin.

DISCREETLY BLUE (T. Pannell) - jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Held up and was unable to improve from near the 500m until approaching the 300m.

GIN RUMMY (J. Potter) - slow to begin.

UKI RAIN (C. Murray) - jumped away awkwardly.

VAMORE (NZ) (J. Toeroek) – raced wide without cover throughout.

ZOUHOFF (T. Voorham) – rider reported that her intention was to ride the gelding in a forward position; however, from its wide gate, ZOUHOFF was caught wide and as a result settled further back than intended.

DUCHESS OF SUSSEX (L. Neindorf) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LADY PARIAH. Laid in over the concluding stages.

HELLABALOU (B. Price) – raced greenly throughout.

LADY PARIAH (F. Atkinson) - jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped DUCHESS OF SUSSEX. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the filly raced greenly in the middle stages.

LITTLE PRINCESS (R. Milnes) – laid out over the final 100m and took WHINE FOR WINE out.

WHINE FOR WINE (J. Holder) – over the final 100m was taken out by LITTLE PRINCESS and became awkwardly placed between the heels of that filly and DUCHESS OF SUSSEX, which had laid in slightly under pressure. As Stewards were of the opinion that this incident was not attributed to any one horse or rider, they took no action other than to notify all the riders involved in this incident that when in similar circumstances they must take their utmost care to protect their fellow riders.

I AM A FINE LINE (T. Johnstone) – approaching the finish was obliged to shift in abruptly when awkwardly placed on the heels of WHINE FOR WINE.

STEEL TSUNAMI (K. Crowther) – when improving rounding the home turn near the 400m was taken out off its course by ZOUHOFF, which had shifted out and away from HELLABALOU. As a result of this incident the gelding became unbalanced, shifted out and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the gelding raced greenly in the early and middle stages and this was detrimental to its chances today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

MARGIE'S BOY (C. Rawiller) – inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

PLATINUM WOLF (S. Metcalfe) – rider explained that the gelding was not suited to the pace in the early and middle stages and that on pulling up PLATINUM WOLF had coughed on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KOMACHI (IRE) (K. Crowther) – bounded on jumping away and was slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.

BIT OF A REBEL (A. Livesey) – rider reported that when placed under pressure the gelding did not respond to her riding as she had anticipated and, in her opinion, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

KIRKLISTON BLU (T. Voorham) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

DRAGONFACE (C. Newitt) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Rider explained that due to the slow pace in the early and middle stages, he elected to allow the gelding to stride forward near the 800m to obtain a forward position.

PRICILLA'S CHOICE (H. Yuen) - Change of tactics - attempt to settle back with cover if possible. Settled mid rear without cover. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. After passing the 200m when giving ground commenced to lay out under pressure.

LEADER'S PRIDE (M. Collett) – on jumping away lost its position when tightened onto BIT OF A REBEL by WANNASCHMACK. Rider reported that the gelding over raced in the early and middle stages.

WANNASCHMACK (D. Tourneur) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted out onto LEADER'S PRIDE.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute.

LAKE'S FOLLY (R. Milnes) – shortly after the start shifted in to obtain cover. Rider reported that in the middle stages, the gelding dropped the bit and did not travel as she had anticipated for a short distance. She added that LAKE'S FOLLY worked home fairly in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

SMILING ASSASSIN (K. Crowther) – laid in under pressure in the straight.

DIXIE WHISTLER (A. Livesey) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

SENOR UNO (NZ) (T. Pannell) – raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1600m was permitted to stride forward by its rider to take a position outside the leader.

FOX GEM (D. Tourneur) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up from the 400m until near the 300m when racing between SENOR UNO (NZ) and SHEARMAN DYER and when attempting to improve bumped with SHEARMAN DYER.

SHEARMAN DYER (J. Holder) - raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 1700m was permitted to stride forward by its rider to take a position in the lead. Near the 300m bumped with FOX GEM, which shifted in when attempting to improve.

BELLA KATHLEEN (B. Price) – raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

SASUN (T. Voorham) - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race.

Following the event, Stewards questioned Mr J. Macmillan, Trainer of FOX GEM in relation to the reason for the gelding being presented late in the mounting yard, prior to the advertised start time for the event. After considering his explanation, Mr Macmillan was fined $200 under AR194.

STRUCK BY (A. Livesey) – near the 300m rolled in onto OCEAN REWARD.

HE'S OUR BONNEVAL (GB) (T. Pannell) – laid out under pressure in the straight.

KLABEL (NZ) (T. Johnstone) – laid in under pressure in the straight. Near the 100m shifted in when insufficiently clear of ALL BEANS, which had to be checked. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 7 September 2024 and to conclude midnight Saturday, 14 September 2024, a period of three meetings. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account T. Johnstone’s good record and her guilty plea.

OCEAN REWARD (J. Toeroek) – near the 300m was obliged to alter course to the outside of STRUCK BY, which shifted in. Inside the 300m was obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of ALL BEANS, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.

ALL BEANS (M. Collett) – inside the 300m shifted in when insufficiently clear of OCEAN REWARD, which was obliged to take hold, continued to shift in and hampered STRUCK BY. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight Saturday, 7 September 2024 and to conclude midnight Sunday, 15 September 2024, a period of four meetings. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account M. Collett’s record and her guilty plea.

TAPINFORPAR (C. Newitt) - jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

SURPRISE COMING (K. Crowther) – began awkwardly. Inside the 300m became awkwardly placed on the heels of STRUCK BY, which rolled in and had commenced to weaken and as a result was held up for clear running until the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

BALLON D'OR (J. Opperman) – laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that when placed under pressure the mare did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

CLASSY KENNY (S. Fawke) – held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 200m. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight. Rider reported that the gelding laid out rounding the home turn.

Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow rider, M. Collett (ALL BEANS) and Trainer, J. Pickering to view the vision in the straight.

CALL ME VEXATIOUS (C. Murray) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.

DELTA TANGO (B. Price) – had to be re-shod on arrival at the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race.

FLYWAY (C. Newitt) – rider explained that the gelding was extremely disappointing and did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

JAMROCK (S. Fawke) – rider explained that the gelding felt short in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

EXOPIPI (L. Neindorf) – had to be re-saddled on arrival at the barriers.

REBEL CONSORTIUM (J. Holder) - jumped away awkwardly and shifted out.

SPEC RAIDER (A. Jordsjo) – laid in under pressure in the straight.
