There will be plenty of South Australian interest in today’s $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington led by Morphettville-trained filly Talisay.

There will be plenty of South Australian interest in today’s $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington led by Morphettville-trained filly Talisay.

The Byron Cozamanis prepared galloper was the eye-catching run in last weekend’s Wakeful Stakes making good late ground over the 2000m and her bloodlines suggest the 2500m of the Oaks won’t be an issue.

Her mother Mykaetob is a half-sister to three-time Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva.

She is marked a $34 chance.

Too Darn Discreet steps out as the leading SA chance according to the market at $8, the filly bred and raced by SA Hall of Fame member David Peacock and trained at Ballarat by Dan O’Sullivan.

The daughter of Too Darn Hot has been impressive winning her past three including the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield last time out.

The Phillip Stokes stable has Femminile coming through the same race drawn out in gate 13 with Daniel Stackhouse to ride.

She was a brilliant winner of the Oaklands Plate in Adelaide earlier in the year.
